Been here for years and love their food. Always. Indian pancake, chicken satay, wings wrapped in leaf, shrimp cakes, seafood green curry, pineapple fried rice, and Malaysian Tofu are my favorites. Rip Malaysian milk tea.

When I was growing up, we’d use to come here often . We came for Father’s Day this year and the food quality has dropped a bit, as well as the portions of the roti… they are so small now that one portion is like for one individual. The beef rendang and the pad se ew were the highlights but the pad Thai is probably the worst pad Thai I have ever had. All in all, it’s alright but not as good as it used to be

MY favorite Malaysian restaurant in the peninsula!! I would literally drive from Sunset for this place! Needless to say, been here numerous times and will definitely for many more times in the future. Great service each & every time we are here thus far. MY usual orders are rotis, satay chicken or beef skewers & Thai ice tea each time we come along with other dishes. Wide selections of food and parking is conveniently located just in front of the restaurant.

Took me a while to find this place, as it is a bit hidden—behind the hime depot and the parking structure on Westlake. Arriving, there was almost no one, but as soon as I was seated, the lunch crowd began. I understand, reservations are highly recommended. I ordered a simple pad Thai and the amount of sweetness was just right—as I’ve had some that were too sweet. My only disappointment with my dish is that it only had 2 shrimps in the whole dish. Aside that, the flavor was superb. Service was fast and the woman in the front (taking phone calls), was absolutely fantastic. Great service. Great food.

Roti bread with curry is always a must have at this place. Their Pad Thai and Basil Seafood stir fry are excellent as well.

This place feigns importance nor does not respect a customers allergies! A lot of room for opportunity for their customer service and follow-up. We ordered the salted cabbage and bean curd soup (Did not specify it had shrimp on the menu, and I am moderately allergic to shrimp). When the soup came out, we politely asked our server (bald headed guy) if they could change the soup since I mentioned I was allergic to shrimp. The new bowl of soup came back suspiciously quick, and to my fear when I was halfway thru my cup there was a little shrimp piece- seems like they just scooped out the shrimp from the previous bowl! I work in hospitality, and I RARELY complain if I find customer service in a place I visit low-tier. Of course when our server stopped-by I let him know of the situation and apologized, however no follow-up from him after, did not even ask how I was doing if I am having allergic reactions (or dying!).My friends noticed he spoke to a lady in a suit and another server in glasses, because all three of them were looking at our table, and we thought there would be a follow-up from them, but nope! Did not even comp anything and charged us the full check. I only had mild allergic reactions, itching and mild swelling of my lips—— BUT, What if someone else is SEVERELY ALLERGIC to shrimp? Do better Banana Island management!!

Really great flavors and food came out really fast. The restaurant is a bit hidden as it’s not on the main road, but worth coming!

This is our favorite Thai place. Every time I visit the bay area, we always come here because of their Roti, the best I've had yet. Service is good too. The salty fried rice is really good, pineapple fried rice is also really good. I highly recommend this place, everything we have tried so far are all yummy 😋

Today I ordered a pickup of the Satay Chicken/Beef Skewer Combo. In my opinion, both the beef and chicken skewers did not taste recently cooked. I'm fairly certain the skewers were reheated, which is strange for a popular restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. While the skewers had decent flavor and appearance, the meat was not tender and overwhelmingly chewy. Maybe if I had sat at a table, then they would have been fresh? I'm not sure. I would like to give this restaurant another chance in the future. If you found my review helpful, follow my local guide profile to see my experiences with other destinations!

Pretty good standard Asian fare, busy in the evenings, a bit understaffed, but everything gets done nonetheless. Would recommend if you’re looking for a good meal. Location is a bit unassuming, it’s behind the Home Depot, not with the rest of the shops in the plaza.

Family style, pan-Asian cuisine with prompt and efficient service. Try the roti canai appetizer.

My family and I were looking for a fast and tasty place to have dinner in Daily City. Banana Island, a stunning diner serving in broad range of Thai, Malaysian and Singaporean. They offer a nice comfortable space with a calm Asian atmosphere. It has a long variety of flavorful dishes in its menu, starting with delicious appetizers and then with their fantastic main dishes that vary from poultry to seafood. I would definitely recommend this place for its excellent service, price and delicious food.

Okay this place is a hidden gem. Tucked into a back alley behind home depot. My partner found it online looking for Malaysian places and we figured we'd give it a shot. I was really pleasantly surprised Place was pretty hoppin' but we got seated fast. Service had a little lag sometimes, like our main dishes came out but we had to wait a few minutes for rice. Food was stellar. The roti was delicious and the curry sauce was so good! We also got the chicken rendang, Malaysian tofu platter, and mi goreng noodles. Chicken rendang was so tender and flavorful! The tofu platter was my favorite, just such a yummy sauce, super soft tofu, fresh veggies, soft egg, yum yum. The mi goreng noodles were also delicious, not my favorite but no complaints, just everything was really good.

Hainanese Chicken and Sea Bass were my favorite along with the fried bananas and ice cream. The roti/curry appetizer was my favorite pretty delicious. We had several other dishes very large party. The service was excellent considering it was on the weekend and packed. Very accommodating staff and service. This restaurant is in back of Home Depot next to the parking structure. It's tucked away from the main street.

Pati is tasty and flakey, Hainanese chicken is excellent with either the hot sauce or the ginger sauce for dipping, spicy wings are tasty, beef rice noodles are excellent, spicy and sour seafood soup is great.

Good food and service. Went there for dinner. Chicken dish was rather dry, since it was precooked. Soup was okay, nothing special. There chicken broth rice and coconut rice was delicious, even by itself. Roti is a must order item.

I came here with my family for a weekend lunch and got zero complaints from my Asian mother (which is the highest compliment of all)! We loved the roti appetizer, so glad that we ordered 2 portions for 4 people to share. It was light and fluffy, dipping it into the coconut curry sauce was perfect. We also tried a few other Singaporean classics like chicken and beef satay - the chicken was far more tender than the beef. The nasi lamak had great flavor but we weren't expecting it to be served like a single lunch portion. We also got a whole fish which was supposed to be Thai style, did not expect it to be fully deep fried but the accompanying sweet chili sauce was not bad. I would skip the Singapore style rice noodles next time (or maybe go for the crunchy fried version). I will be back to try the curry and some of their other popular dishes!

My friend recommended this restaurant to me and it was really good. Definitely will be going back for some more food. Though it was super busy in the late afternoon. We went on a Friday at 5:00 p.m. for takeout, I highly would not recommend going at this time unless you have a reservation. Even if you have a reservation though, it might be a little bit later until you get your spot. Please be kind to the workers though!

The service was great, our server was very patient and friendly. The food was ok, I ordered lots of dishes to share with the family. Sorry, I can't recall a dish that stood out to me. The restaurant is a little hard to find. You have to go into and behind the parking structure.

Its sizzling tofu is very good. More, I strongly recommend its durian cakes, but I know lot of people are not willing to try it. My Malaysian friends like its locally flavored and led me to try it. Lot of cuisines, therefore, I only visited two times, so still not tried too much. One China service man is humorous and works fast. I will come again to play jokes with him, ha.

My mom brought me here for lunch for a tasting menu for our small wedding reception in December. DELICIOUS!!! Everything I tried was delicious! We ordered roti, chicken satay and shrimp puff for appetizers...curry vegetables, Malaysian pork chop, Singapore beef chow fun and spicy fried chicken for entrees. The fried bananas with ice cream for dessert was superb! I loved it all, I tell ya! I brought home some of the food for my family to try n it was a winner!! Can't wait for our December event!

I visited this place several years ago and can't remember what I ordered. However, the only item that disappeared to me is the Roti. I tried the soup, chicken skewers, and my most favorite dessert, mongo sticky rice. You have to try the desert when you visit it.

My recent visit to Banana Island was quite underwhelming. The food was mediocre, and the service was even worse. Not only did the servers roll their eyes and treat me with attitude, but they also refused to provide the Wi-Fi password. This experience left me disappointed and frustrated.
