Best place ever!! Hubby and I stopped here right before leaving Salem, and let me tell you, boy was I glad we did!! Food was superb! I had the lobster bisque, and the special, which was Scallops Marsala, WOW best dish I've possibly ever eaten. Husband had the surf and turf with steak and grilled scallops. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. This is number one on my list to visit when we return!!!

Food What an amazing restaurant! I loved the food, from drinks to starters to main course. The flavour and texture of the Asian nachos were very interesting, which made me want to keep eating. The crab cake was so soft and stuffed with tender crab meat. Beautiful. For main course, I had the special baked lobster. The stuffing was shrimp and veggies with bread crumbs. Every bite you take, you experience the crunchiness on the outside and the softness of the shrimp and veggies. Wonderful. Everything else Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. We asked for spice Mayo, but they didn’t have it. Instead of telling us they don’t have it, she offered us sriracha and Mayo, and suggested that we mixed them. It was great!

Amazing place! You have to come here and don’t sit at the table, instead sit at the bar where they prepare all they oysters 🦪 and other delicious things. You should try the local specialty- the lobster roll. It was very good, we took the warm version and I can definitely say it was worth its price. We also took scallops- they were warm, straight out of oven with something like breadcrumbs on top.. amazing taste! I also recommend mocktail with apple and cinnamon- it tasted literally like apple pie! And there is a big menu of vines as well.

We've eaten here every year in October when visiting Salem, for many years. Covid has certainly changed things. It wasn't nearly as good this time around. No bread before the meal, no friendly staff...we had to send the lobster bisque back...not just cold but it tasted like something other than lobster bisque. The shrimp and sausage in our pasta dish was overcooked. The pasta itself was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. The salad was also excellent. The calamari while tasty, was soggy. Our server was kind and helpful and exchanged our soup for clam chowder which was hot and delicious but no offer made to credit our bill. It's less expensive than the lobster bisque. The hostess was less than friendly and ignored my questions. Not sure what that was about. I also didn't like having to pay and tip in advance to actually place our order. That should definitely change. A tip isn't something that should be forced in advance regardless and while I get the whole scan code menu, there's no one taking your order. You do it all yourself. It takes away from the whole experience which is sad. My opinion.

Going to add to their already glowing reviews. We were a little intimidated by the high prices, but literally everything that came out was a 5-star meal. Incredible lobster bisque, lobster Mac and cheese, melt in your mouth steak, crab cake with sauce to die for, and tender halibut with a lovely mango salsa. Even the bread was totally amazing. You have to try this place if you’re visiting Salem!

Super nice and friendly staff all the way from the entrance to the table. The food was delicious, service was fast, server new recommendations and was very nice. I will be coming here everytime I come to Salem! We split a pasta salmon and it was delicious. The loaf of bread was one of the best breads I've had, super soft and warm. The strawberry shortcake was delicious!

The best sea food restorant we have tried in America! Very rich menu. There's a lot to try! Crab cake with salad was extremely delicious. Would love to eat it again! Service was perfect, fast, and very friendly. Our waiter was a very sweet girl and very helpful. Definitely recommend, if you are visiting Salem!

When I was planning my trip to Salem this restaurant kept popping up on every single list. "Salem Must-Eats" "Best Restaurants in Salem" "Places You Don't Want To Miss in Salem" They were all 100% right and I am so glad that I listened and made a reservation. My parents and I had an absolutely insanely delicious dinner here that we're all still raving about. Our waiter was so kind, attentive, and friendly; so was the owner who came by to say hello as well. The restaurant was beautiful and I truly don't think I've been to a restaurant with more comfortable dining chairs in my life. The food was outstanding. My mother and I don't eat fish but we wanted to go for my father who does and this was the perfect place if you love fish or don't because there are so many options. The bread was crusty perfection, the crab cakes were so good that my father said they were the best he ever had in his life, the harvest salad was amazing, the chicken marsala was so good that everything else I have eaten since has paled in comparison, and the sticky toffee pudding was decadent and perfect. If you're visiting Salem or near it you have to eat here, you will be so thrilled that you did. If I am every back in the area I will absolutely beeline straight for Turner's!

A real 5 stars experience . John, the maître was simply the ultimate of a great host. Barry, The Portuguese fella who prepares the oysters is a gentleman. Food is really surgically well prepared , visually appealing, tasteful and high end quality. The service is fantastic and I highly recommend. Other than that , the building has a lot of stories you would love to hear about . One of the best seafood I’ve ever eaten !

HORRIBLE customer service with MISERABLE hosts and a poor excuse of a manager. Was unprofessional in every way possible and was truly the most disheartening experience we’ve had yet. I felt like I was on PUNKd the service was so poor. Awful staff completely ruined our final night in Salem. They need to completely redo their staff and make their meals more worth the money. I’ll never be back and will never recommend it this place sucks.

This place is fantastic! My friends and I shared the salmon pasta dish and it was delicious. We also ordered the bread (which was warm and fresh and amazing) and we were very close to just ordering another one to take home. Fortunately, we visited on the off tourism season so we didn’t need a reservation and there was no wait. Definitely coming back here to try more of their dishes. Our server Denis was the best!

I’m glad we made a point to eat here! The food was really good and our server was very friendly! It was very easy to make online reservations, and I am able to call day off to modify them (our train was delayed). We ordered one meals and salad and appetizer we enjoyed everything. I would highly recommend the baked shrimp, Mac and cheese, and the Caesar salad (the dressing was delicious!).

If you are visiting Salem, Turner's is a MUST! My fiancée and I loved it so much that we went twice during our 4 day trip (we might even come back a 3rd time before we leave!) Buffalo shrimp was excellent and their seasonal cocktails fit the Halloween October mood. Shrimp scampi was perfectly seasoned. Hake fish so flakey and delicately prepared and I came back to try the scallops and was not disappointed. Turner's was one of the highlights of our trip!

The absolute BEST Lobster bisque & New England Clam Chowder on the planet. There is no better. I swear. We come from NJ every October just to eat. I promise you'll love it. Plus the owners are amazing, the staff is accommodating & friendly & the restaurant is lovely. Fine dine, artisan dishes & creative drinks. The seafood is so fresh, they even have a fresh seafood market where you can purchase soups in half gallon sizes & fresh seafood to go. Amazing quality. A MUST if you're in the area

Everything was AMAZING at this restaurant! Upon entering, there was no wait, so we were in our seat very quickly. Our waiter was excellent and was able to walk us through some dishes in order to choose a great birthday dinner. We had steamers, lobster bakes, fish, shrimp scampi, and some appetizers. Turner's is very pricey, so be prepared to spend, but the food is very much worth it! We were never rushed, and it was overall a wonderful experience!

    - food was amazing everything was fresh and had such a nice flavor. - staff were friendly for the most part. The server we had was very nice and helpful. - got food in a quick time even though they were super busy. - prices are normal for the area. - place was clean and organized. - outside seating was very nice. - parking in Salem in general can be hard to find especially around holidays. - overall a good first time, I'd like this location.

We had our wedding at Turner's. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the food was excellent. The crab cakes were excellent as were the Ritz cracker crusted baked scallops. The room we were in for our event was picturesque and perfect for what we needed. We will be back to enjoy the chowder and other seafood soon.

My husband and I ate at Turners twice this past week while celebrating our honeymoon. I say twice because we couldn’t go just once! We enjoyed the old style atmosphere and after learning about it’s history throughout tours, we couldn’t get enough! Their lobster bisque soup was out of this world delicious! My husband had the lobster pie and lobster roll which was also amazing. The shrimp scampi was so wonderful. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Salem! Aaron was our waiter and was so welcoming and made sure we were taken care the entire time. We appreciated these wonderful meals and our time spent there! Thank you for a memorable meal, Turners! Hope to see you again soon!

I just wasn’t impressed with this place. The atmosphere was nice and our server was great but the food.... they can keep it!! My crabcakes were so stuffed with breading and fillers I couldn’t taste anything else. The mashed cauliflower was full of cheese and that’s all I could taste. The best thing was the brussels sprouts that had bacon in them(which I had to pay extra for). Not worth the money. I’ve had better dinners at Red Lobster. Sorry!

We stopped in after a tour and were able to get right in. Wonderful design and friendly staff. Food was great, I had the crab cakes with cauliflower mashed and spinach. Wife wasn't super hungry so she got the lobster bisque (which was creamy like a chowder but really good) and the ricotta cake side. Both were flavorful and served pretty quickly. Would happily return.

Classic New England seafood and such a warm welcoming environment. Baked scallops with breadcrumbs is a must (wash it done with one of the many local brews). Pay no mind to those leaving poor reviews because they cannot comprehend the protocols and safety measures in place to protect staff and customers. If you choose to dine out in a pandemic you need to do so with empathy. Take your entitlement and cook at home!

Fantastic experience and the best seafood options in Salem. Highly recommend the Haddock, Hake Marsala, Crab cakes and the bacon wrapped scallops. $35 for a bottle of most wines is a great deal and the prices are reasonable. Wait staff were attentive and kind, super helpful with our kids! It is definitely child friendly. The cocktails looked great but I never tried one.

I was very pleased with the service, very approachable, her personality was great with her great attitude (forgot her name). The clam chowder was very good and also had breaded scallops. We were lucky and able to seat within minutes without a reservation. It was busy on a Sunday night. This place was recommended by the trolley guide.

  • 5/5 Joseph M. 2 years ago on Google
Had amazing food here! I started with the crab cake. That was extremely good. For my entree I had the swordfish dinner, which tasted phenomenal. I really enjoyed that a lot. Our waiter was also super friendly and quick to respond. We could see he had 5 tables, including us, and still he never left us wanting! I think his name was Trevor. The restaurant does have narrow paths and got very busy while we were there. This didn’t really impact us but it’s worth noting. The only flaw for me was that there was a big construction cone right outside my window. I don’t think the restaurant can do anything about that though.

Highly recommend eating at Turner’s when you’re in Salem! We started lining up a little before 11:30 AM when they’re open and we were seated right away. It is a historic building and I love the vibe inside. We all enjoyed our food very much. The service was great as well. Food was delicious and generously portioned.

During the month of October, I'd recommend making a reservation or patiently wait in line. The food is worth the wait. Michael E, our server provided excellent service and had a great personality for how busy the restaurant was. We all kept on commenting how friendly and down to earth he was and answered all of our questions and really just added to our wonderful experience of being there. We all had Shipyard Pumpkin with the cinnamon & sugar rimjobs. Both the Clam Chowder and Lobster Bisque were fantastic! You could tell everything was fresh. I had the Baked Stuffed Shrimp for my entree and it was delicious. The atmosphere felt rustic with dark wood decor and had the New England seafood restaurant feeling. There's an oyster bar with seating, outdoor seating and options if you do not have a reservation. Overall experience was very much enjoyed.

Crab cakes were different but still very good! Squash was amazing. Shrimp appetizer was very crispy and juicy, we got a side of Buffalo which was even better! Clam Chowder was delicious. By far one of my favorite indoor atmospheres in salem!

Beautiful environment and fantastic food! We were recommended this place by locals (thank you to the staff at the Seven Gables gift shop) and it was so worth it. My boyfriend got the seafood medley (pictured) while I got the lobster pie with spinach (not pictured). Although the staff was busy, our server was very kind and receptive to when we needed her. If we are in the area, we will definitely come back!

We had dinner there last night and it was perfect. We love seafood, and started with their oysters. Super fresh and delicious! The lobster bisque, which is award winning, exceeded expectations. Our Server, Elise, did a great job taking care of us. I wish I had more room in my belly to keep trying stuff. I chose the Ahi Tuna Nachos and cleared my plate. I highly recommend this place to any seafood lovers visiting the area!

  • 5/5 Taylor K. 6 months ago on Google
Nice. Walked right in on September 23rd, 2023 and we were seated immediately but could tell that it probably doesn’t always happen that way. I got the lobster roll, my wife ordered fish and chips. We got bread and a crab cake for appetizers (order both or you failed). The crab cake was the best thing either of us tasted in Salem. Very good food here and a sweet little atmosphere.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a warm cup of soup and a delectable lobster roll after a long drive. It was exactly what I needed to unwind and satisfy my cravings. If you're planning a visit to Salem, I highly recommend adding this delightful culinary experience to your list. The combination of comforting soup and the indulgence of a perfectly prepared lobster roll is truly a treat for the taste buds. Don't miss out on this fantastic dining option while exploring Salem.

Nice place to eat in Salem! Food was good and atmosphere was fun. We sat at the raw bar and met some really incredible people. Great music playing gave this place a nice vibe. Ordered fish and chips, cup of the lobster bisque, and a seasonal salad. Overall great experience. Only con was it took quite a while to get our bill.

  • 4/5 Angie M. 6 months ago on Google
Salem location. Able to get in with no wait but was an off time for dinner. Oysters tasted fresh. Bread appetizer was served warm. I did not like this style of clam chowder as much as other places. The stuffed shrimp were very good. Jasmine rice was dry and inedible. Steak cooked correctly. Paid parking was just behind it. Service was very good.

Turners is one of my favorite restaurants. I half come to Salem for Salem and the other half is for Turners. Get the mussels... they are to die for!!!!

  • 5/5 kimberly r. 3 years ago on Google
First, the manager is so warm and welcoming, that alone makes the restaurant 5 star. She was very accommodating and was really interested in talking with us. If you're looking for a nice cup of clam chowder, I'd recommend it as well as the Asian tuna nachos. Sadly, we were not fans of the tuna chili but if you like cumin, you'll like the soup.

My friends and I came here as a final dinner for our trip to Salem and we all left agreeing this was the worst service we’ve ever received at a restaurant. Host was incredibly rude and the “manager” was a joke. Had no interest in hearing our problems and straight up said to us “I’m not really sure what you want me to do” and said she couldn’t do anything for us because we had already finished our meals ?? The ordering system was terrible, 2 of my friends got their food 40 minutes before me and another friend did. So we got to stare at eachother while 2 people ate and 2 of us waited. My shrimp scampi had 2 shrimp. The manager said the system has been “very well received” and basically hinted to us that since no one else has complained about it we’re basically incapable of working the app and it’s our fault. Horrible nasty attitudes from the staff and we won’t be recommending to anyone. Coming from someone who worked at a restaurant and worked as a manager this place is poorly ran and overpriced. Ruined our last night in Salem.

We LOVE Turners! The seafood is amazing but the menu is HUGE if you’re with a party who aren’t all seafood fans. This is where I always bring out of town friends because there are so many options but the food is really well-made. I especially love the lobster bisque, the calamari, and the mussels. The pasta is also very good. If you’re into cocktails, I highly recommend the espresso martini. You order online during COVID which I didn’t like at first, but the food and drinks come SO fast that now I hope they keep this forever. This is a great winter spot because the interior is so woodsy and cozy.

  • 3/5 Tami K. 3 years ago on Google
Very friendly and nice atmosphere but fish and chips were average. Local haddock, so not as hearty a fish as cod. Batter was actually kind of sweet (??), and a little greasy. Chips have good taste but are limp, alas. I love that the packaging is all paper: thank you for honoring the environment.

  • 5/5 Chash G. 3 years ago on Google
Their lobster bisque was fabulous! The crab cakes and fish n chips do not disappoint...they are fresh and have amazing flavor. Large portions and friendly staff. The owner stopped by and visited. Definitely stop by here and try it out!

Absolutely delicious!! They were wonderful to us and so patient with my son 💙 I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for some amazing seafood. Also, sit outside! They go through a lot to create a great environment on their patio!

What a nice place to eat, food was good. However, the online ordering of food at a restaurant really irked me. I go out to eat to order food through a person, order drinks through a human. Not sit there on my phone every time I want to order a diet coke. I asked if our party could order normally, and they said well, we prefer you use the website.

I visited Salem for a few days just this month and Turner’s was one of the places recommended to us by locals. I can say, without a doubt, the food was great! Very fresh and delicious. I ordered the shrimp scampi and mussels for an appetizer. My biggest complaint is that the waitress we had would disappear for very long periods of time. We needed napkins, had to wait 15 minutes for those. We needed our empty plates to be taken, and had to wait another 15-20 just for that (even when she came to give us water, she saw the empty plates and didn’t grab them then either). She was not very attentive. She could’ve been new to the staff and maybe that was why. But I was displeased with that portion. The food itself would’ve gotten 5 stars, but customer service to me, was only 1 star.

  • 5/5 C S. 3 years ago on Google
I'd give six stars, if I could! We will return next year. Plenty of GF options noted on the menu, and even more available if you discuss options with the waitstaff. Amazingly helpful staff. Forgive me, I forgot her name, but our waitress was exceptionally knowledgable and took the time to communicate, with the kitchen staff, my allergy needs, and made appropriate accommodations for my dish. One adult who doesn't eat fish, a Celiac, a regular adult, two cranky teenagers and a picky tween all left satisfied. Kudos. They take allergies seriously. Bonus. The place is legitimatly haunted. Ask your waitperson about the history of the building :)

If we could rate a 0, we would. While encountering 4 members of the staff that were easily all within the rudest customer service agents we have ever met. We were too disgusted to even continue sitting for a meal and had to leave.

Wow. Turner's was a delight and despite Covid they produced a great experience for us visiting from Philly. The highlight was the Portuguese Fish Stew that was so full of homemade flavor I'm still thinking about it over a week later. Find it in the soup section on the menu but keep in mind it's more of a meal. Delicate chunks of white fish, mussels, shrimp and veggies in a flavor packed broth given a nice kick with chorizo sausage that will make your taste buds will be sing. Service was attentive with the Covid self serve spin but our waiter was warm and engaged us with suggestions where to visit while in Salem. Our cocktails were seasonal specials and all well prepared. It's no surprise Turner's Seafood is such a popular spot.

If you're in Salem, you must visit Turner's! The seafood is always super fresh. I highly recommend the lobster bisque, stuffed clams, fresh oysters, and stuffed lobster.
