Great variety of trails to choose from to run, ride or walk. There is a large parking lot, easy to get in and out of with larger vehicles. The porta potty was dangerously full when I visited but the rest of the park was well maintained and the signage was clear. There are a few benches near the trailhead with shade trees. Beautiful dessert views throughout, plenty of cactus and other natural vegetation too. Great for dogs. I'll definitely return soon to explore more.

This trail system is great for all three user groups equestrians, hikers and mountain bikers, all will enjoy the trails here. The Desperado Loop is great for beginning mountain bikers with the rest of the trails more advanced but not too technical. This system is close to town well signed and well used. It is a beautiful place to hike, bike or ride.

Beleive it or not... there are rocks on this trail. I went there to mtb while passing through on my vacation. These trails were well maintained and provided a fun ride even during the steady rain in July. I never rode in Arizona before and wasn't sure what to expect. There is a lot of rock gardens, challenging sections as well as fast flowing sections. Lots of beautiful scenery which the trails did a good job of working around without disrupting the natural habitat. The trails were marked but I did get a little confused while navigating my way around. I ride a Trek Stache 8 hardtail and consider myself an above average rider and had no problems at all. I did have to walk my bike a few times due to not being prepared for the obstacle. Overall a great trail system and fun for all skill levels. There are NO bathrooms in parking lot.

Great place to go for a hike and an even better place to take your bike for some good trail riding. The trail is very clean and there are sugauros riding each side of it making it feel as if you're walking through a gate.

There are so many trails to choose from here at Sweetwater Preserve Trailhead, you could switch it up and do thousands of different hikes. We have hiked out here numerous times. The scenery is beautiful and the Saguaros are majestic. My only complaint is not with the trails, it's with the mountain bikers. Some, not all cyclists out here are inconsiderate to hikers, enough to make it unpleasant at times. Slow down for booking curves.Cyclists yield to hikers and horses, hikers yield to horses. Get it straight, and if I hiker makes way for you, say thank you!

Just a great place to hike with your dog. I usually hike with my dog off leash and he is so well trained. I get so many calls on his behavior and actually a lot of hikers and bike riders stop just to pet him.

Beautiful, easy to moderate hiking trails. Great place to bring your four-legged friends along for the hike. Bicycles and horses are also welcome! Bring poop bags as the only trash bin is in the parking lot. Otherwise, trails are well defined with maps throughout the system.

Easy trails with stunning scenery and giant saguaros. The only problem is the mountain bikers. They hate to walk like normal people so the bikers are in abundance out here. It's too bad they can't stick to the actual mountain trails, hence the name MOUNTAIN bike, but it's a free terrain for everyone so nothing can be done about it. And you usually have to yield to bikers because of how much faster they are than the walker or runner. I would be hesitant to put earbuds in out here because a biker would probably run right into you from behind. So, just be aware that there are a lot of bikers out on these easy, open desert trails, and if you can deal with that you'll have a wonderful time.

Dirt parking lot with lots of room on weekdays but hard to find a place to park on weekends. I would say arrive early but so does everyone else. Sadly no water or washrooms. Trails are great and worth the drive.

One of the best free activities to do in Tucson is to hike. This park is great, and I even saw a huge crested saguaro with arms! There's a decent amount of elevation during the hike so you'll get great views of the city and landscape.

First time ever on a MTB trail! First timers be sure to bring a friend. Good balance of technical and fast track. A blast for first time doing singletrack

It's fun but people keep throwing the rocks off the track so it keeps getting easier

Well-marked trails and great views. Came here for a sunset hike. Trail was not too crowded. Chose to do the wildflower ridge trail and a part of the desperado loop before it got too dark.

Gorgeous place to see a lot of cactuses. A great place for a bike ride. Very popular for bikers.

The day I arrived was pretty hot so I didn't stay long. But the fact that this is out of the way and quiet made it very attractive to me and Ill be back.

Quiet little spot perfect for hiking or biking and very much on a par with nearby Saguaro National Park, but without the fees. Plenty of parking and fewer crowds than the nearby more popular parks. A wide variety of cactii, plants, animals, etc. to see. On my first visit I even caught a glimpse of a roadrunner.

Great trail system for mountain biking, variety of terrain and easy to bike as much or as little as you want. Nothing too intense but far from too easy.

  • 5/5 Albert G. 4 years ago on Google
Great little trail system for beginners or experts. Plenty of trail for a 2-3 hour ride if you do it all. Good views and not too far from town.

Lots of options here long trails and short ones. Have taken my kids twice now. It was beautiful and busy lots of people riding bikes walking dogs and horse back riding on these trails makes you feel safe even though your pretty much in the middle of nowhere you are constantly seeing other people out there!

The Saguaro Vista Trail is one of the better places in the Tucson Mountains if you want to see Saguaro's up close. It's a shout easy hike through the Desert Forest with awesome vista views.

You can't beat the views, nor the quick drive from metro Tucson. There are several trails, with different elevations and distances so this area could work for all different fitness and ability levels. There is ample parking and I really look forward to a future visit on another trail.

  • 5/5 Angela W. 3 years ago on Google
These trails are some of my favorite to take my dog on. They offer many different paths, great views and the trials have little difficulty. There does tends to be lots of bike traffic but everyone there is really kind.

A great multi-use trail system. Well marked with signs at all intersection. It has a nice and large parking lot. There is even a connector trail that links it up with the trails at Tucson Mountain Park.

Great mountain biking or hiking trail. I recommend the cooler months of Tucson to try this out. If you are mountain biking, it is a bit Rocky but fun with small dips, little inclines, some downhill and switchbacks. Really fun trails just don't run into a cactus!!!

I love the trails, they are well-marked. The only frustration is the number of people that don't clean up after their dogs.
