My three favorite court house in western Pennsylvania are in Fayette, Elk and Allegheny counties. I love taking pictures of this building, especially when it’s lit up for the Christmas season! Always impressed by how high the tower is at this courthouse

Beautiful historical building in the heart of downtown. Super nice security staff told me some really cool information about the building and walked around with me. I know this is a courthouse, but this is definitely a must go to when you’re visiting Pittsburgh. Very very very awesome building.

Absolutely gorgeous. The most Dickens building in Pittsburgh. Enormous. It's so pretty at Christmas. No parking anywhere as expected, I have not taken a tour of the inside but hope to someday. An architect photographers dream

What a beautiful building! I passed by at around 6:30am. There was no light in the sky yet and my two photos are very dark.

I had to come to the Courthouse for jury service for potential jury duty service. I wasn't selected unfortunately.

While walking from my hotel to the Arena where GENESIS was playing in downtown Pittsburgh for what most likely will be THEIR FINAL TIME - I was in AWE of the this building, first used as a Jail in 1886. On a plaque It (The Prison) was built on Grant Hill which during the late 1700's war with the French, Indians and British. The Blocks were huge and reminded me of the Pyramids in Egypt....

It's best when not visiting this historic building on official business. Take a tour of the inner courtyard and admire the remarkable architecture. It's hard to believe this building is nestled in between modern skyscrapers.

Great location for an elopement or wedding ceremony. The architecture of the grand staircase is really beautiful. I have shot a number of ceremonies here. It's close to other spots downtown for additional photos after your ceremony.

Beautiful building, staff and security are always nice and helpful. Always proud of Pittsburgh when I come here. I actually look forward to jury duty again, I just love this building and the atmosphere. Everyone who works here is great.

Very pretty place for wedding photos for an intimate, small elopement!

What can you really say about the courthouse, it's the old outdated and it's hard to find somewhere to park. And I swear the sheriff that put us through the metal detector was under the influence of something. She was hammered.

Big building. I was listed as a witness/victim so for me it wasn't a bad experience. And it was work related so got paid for it too

Beautiful and somewhat imposing historic building. Lots of history here.

This building is beautiful, and architecturally it is neat to explore inside and out. However, navigating the inside of this building for a specific purpose can be very difficult. You're not sure which doors to even enter through from the exterior, and once inside many rooms are labeled in a manner that was probably intended to be temporary but has become permanent.
