Karen was a wonderful guide! We have done food tours all over the country and all over the world and this really was one of the best. Generous portions, comfortable pace with easy walking and plenty of stops! Highly recommended!

Our tour host, Karen, was knowledgeable, interested and so helpful! At each stop, we learned interesting and cool facts about the restaurant, chefs, town and MORE. Our fellow "tourists" were also fabulous... laid back and fit right in with my 2 sisters. Great day any way you look at it.

A really fun experience. Ate a variety of good food and drink and learned a lot about local culture and history. Chris was a fun and informative guide. Only critique is for vegetarian tour goers the food options were somewhat lacking -restaurants can do a better job of providing creative small plates for the tour for them.

This was an amazing experience! Chris our tour guide was the best! He was very knowledgeable about Tucson history, architecture, botany, and best of all...food! He was very welcoming, visited with everyone on the tour, and was very accommodating to the older crowd on his tour. We had a great variety of foods and if you aren't familiar with downtown Tucson, it is a great way to discover new places to dine.

Chris was a wonderful guide and we went to six fantastic places, eating donuts, tea, pastrami, cheese curds, salad, birria, burgers, and ice cream in four hours. He also showed us numerous points of interest within about a six-block radius of Tucson. It was a great way to spend half a day!

  • 5/5 Sherra E. 2 years ago on Google
This is a great tour! The restaurants are all different, local restaurants, within an easy walk of each other. Brad, our tour guide, is funny and engaging, offering interesting local history. The food at each restaurant was very different, but excellent. I highly recommend you take the tour of you are ever in Tucson!

Nick was our guide for this food tour and he was very enthusiastic, entertaining and knowledgeable about Tucson and the places we visited. You get a lot more to eat than other tours I've been on. We had a fun day on the Tucson Food Tour. We started at the Hotel Congress and traveled to the 4th St area. The food was fabulous. We loved the murals and unique art in the community. Our guide, Brad, shared lots of fun facts about the area. Wear a comfortable pair of walking shoes, you'll get a few steps on your Fitbit. I would recommend this tour!

  • 5/5 Cam W. 3 years ago on Google
Very fun way to experience some of the multitude of eateries in Tucson. You will not leave hungry.even if you are a sturdy firefighter as was our tour guide, Brad. Our group of nine from N. Carolina, Houston, Tennessee and Seattle got to know each other over tacos, burgers, donuts, ice cream, etc, etc. Worth doing for sure.

Our guide was Chris, and he knows Tucson and the food scene! We had a great four hours of walking, history, and good food. Food selection was perfect: six small plates, which constituted a full, well-balanced meal and represented the history of food in downtown Tucson. We loved it!

We did the 4th Ave tour with Chris, who was a fabulous guide to the Tucson food scene. We can't say enough great things about his enthusiasm and knowledge. The tour gave us a nice mix of traditional and new. We really enjoyed the selections. This was a great way to entertain out-of-town guests.

We had a fan-freaking-tastic time on our Tucson brewery tour with Chris from the Tucson Food Tours. He introduced us to fun local breweries, foodie and historical Tucson spots. Highly recommend booking a tour at the start of your holiday to figure out the city and the history. Chris is such a good guide, and so knowledgeable. Five stars!

What a great way to see different spots in Tucson. We were low on time in the city and loved getting to explore with our guide, Chris. He did a great job at showing us good food but also taught us about the town. Was nice to hear from a locals experience. The tour was with 11 people total, but didn’t feel too crowded. Plenty of food but also didn’t feel like it was too much. Overall, very glad we did this tour.

I'm not a "foodie" but I'm became one on this tour. Our guide Chris was able to educate me about the world renowned Tucson gastronomy. We ate at several amazing restaurants. Each stop was unique and offered a different taste of Tucson. In addition to the food, Chris opened my eyes to the fascinating history of Tucson with his love and enthusiasm of the food and the city. This was my first trip to Tucson and I'll be back. I highly recommend this tour.

Chris was so knowledgeable about Tucson and had a great rapport with the restaurants we visited. The food was delicious - my favorite was the green corn tamale at Charro. I’m a local and still learned so much and saw so much that I had never seen or been to before. Definitely a must for Tucson ! I even got to meet the James Beard award winning baker of Barrio Bread.

Our son gave us this tour as a Christmas present. It couldn't have been a better choice. We visited 7 different spots, all with awesome samples, from appetizer to dessert. Chris was an excellent guide with informative tidbits of info about Tucson along the way. Highly recommend.

I've gone on two separate food tours, one downtown and one on 4th avenue. I learned more about this town and discovered more fantastic restaurants in both of these tours than I did in 5 years of living in Tucson. The guides are extremely knowledgeable, you get VIP treatment everywhere you go -- I would absolutely recommend it to any local or visitor.

  • 5/5 Judy C. 4 years ago on Google
We did the 4th avenue Main Gate food tour. It was a great 4 hours of food, fun facts, some history of the area and camaraderie with our fellow tour companions! Chris was our guide and we couldn't have asked for a nicer, fun guy to lead us on our tour. He was very knowledgeable, obviously enjoyed being a guide, and readily answered just about any question we had for him. The food establishments we visited were unique, welcoming and shared with us some great eats. From the avocado toast to the jack fruit tacos, all items with tasty and unique. What a great way to spend half a day and learn more about the food scene in Tucson. We would definitely ask for Chris again by name as he treated us as if we were his usual Peeps! Thanks again Chris.

Went on a tour of some breweries, and not only did I get to taste some amazing local drinks made uniquely by our local artisans but you get to learn some history about this amazing city. Chris is knowledgeable about his breweries/destileries and the history on how these amazing establishments came to be. Chris, you made this tour amazing! Best wishes and I hope more people try this tour out, absolutely a must try!

Such a fun tour! We had out of town friends here and we are fairly new to the area. After some research, I thought that a food tour would be a great way to learn about downtown Tucson and the food scene that Tucson is famous for. We loved it. Chris was a great tour guide and we now know more about 4th street and Main Square and will not hesitate to venture there on our own. The food was so good and there was lots of it. But it was all eaten over four hours so it was not overwhelming. We were served a great variety of food as well. I have already recommended the tour to my daughter who is having guests for the holidays. Thanks for the great time!!! Definitely will be eating at those restaurants again soon.

  • 5/5 Scot C. 4 years ago on Google
We had the 2 meat choice combination and the Boss Hog sandwich. The service was excellent, love the atmosphere as well. Everyone was very friendly and welcomingGreat selection of options, along with a good selection of beer as well. Food tasted very fresh, love the BBQ smell upon entering. The spicy BBQ sauce was our favorite to use.

My husband and I recently took our visiting son on the Fourth Avenue Food Tour. This was our second tour with Tucson Food Tours and this one was every bit as good as the first! Our Tour guide for both trips was Chris. He’s very knowledgeable about not only the history of restaurants we visited and the origin of the food we were served, but he entertained us with anecdotes about the Fourth Avenue/Main Gate districts. I would highly recommend Tucson Food Tours to anyone with guests visiting from out of town or for locals wanting to sample more from the local restaurants without the expense of a full meal...or the calories.

We were in Tucson a few years ago, and took their 4th Avenue tour with Mike. It was great, we really enjoyed ourselves! So we had the holiday weekend, and decided to again travel to Tucson. The first plan we made was to take their downtown food tour. This time, Chris was our guide. Again it was like having a good friend meeting you and bringing you to their favorite spots. He is very knowledgeable and sharing not only the history and specials of each of the 7 places we went to, but also the town and buildings we passed. There were a dozen of us on the tour. Some were visitors like us to town. But half were locals, wanting to know places they could be returning to. My wife does not eat any pork or bacon, so Chris called ahead to accommodate her. He also asked if anyone else had any food restrictions. I highly recommend both the 4th Street tour and now the Downtown tour! Next time in town we will be sure to try their Brew Tour! I would enthusiastically recommend these tours to you! A really great thing to do when visiting, plus the locals kept saying they never knew about many of the places we visited.

We did the downtown tour with Chris and he did a great job. He was engaging and accommodating, which was helpful as we were traveling with a toddler. We like to start out our trips to a new city with a food tour to get an idea of where to eat and an understanding of the culture. This tour did not disappoint and we highly recommend it!

Chris was awesome, so informative with not only the food but the history of each stop!! We had a last minute restaurant cancellation and it was handled quickly and efficiently with a different one added. We were so glad it was as the sliders were fantastic! I will definitely try one of the other tours. A must do if you’re in the area. Laurel
