If I could give this health care facility zero stars I would. My husband was involved in a horrible car accident and because they were so close this is where they brought him. The care was 100% reactive, no pro-active imaging they waited until his entire bowel ruptured and he went septic to image him and had to perform emergency surgery. We went almost 3 days before we saw an actual doctor and the ones we did see didn’t communicate at all regarding his care. He was admitted for 2.5 weeks. We had 4 good nurses the entire stay, the rest took 1-4 hours to respond to any needs. He waited over 3 hours for nausea medication and for someone to help him go to the bathroom. 3 days after discharge I had to bring him back in because he had a recurrent infection because he was discharged with the wrong antibiotic. While in the Emergency Department I overheard a nurse at the station say “I have 2 empty rooms and 1 dead body so technically 3 empty rooms” and she LAUGHED. Horrid horrid experience. We will be getting all of our follow up care at Lancaster or Hershey. I wouldn’t let my dogs get medical care here.

Went to the E.R. With my girlfriend to only have two nurses laugh at her situation and make it a horrible experience. We were there for almost 9 hours and experienced very little help. Now the nurses and staff that WERE nice made the experience better. No patient should feel like they are being judged while they are seeking help. Not to mention your security staff and other internal workers are absolutely miserable, nothing but snappy comments and attitudes while dealing with them. This hospital is minutes from my house and I will drive to another location in order to never go there again.

Date of visit: 4 April 2022. I spent the night in observation ward because of my heart. Everybody here is kind and understanding. I started the day in the emergency room. There, I was put through a series of test before sending me to the observation room. It's like being treated by family. Very positive experience and I highly recommend Tower Health's Reading Hospital and Medical Center

Will never go to this hospital for the emergency department again! Waiting room was so full and people were waiting for over 7 hours and still had not seen a doctor! Had a gentlemen next to me throwing up blood and could barely stand and he was basically pushed to the side I had to help him clean himself up! Everything I experienced there last evening was not any kind of care I would want for my family or any human being. I understand being short staffed but no reason is good enough for the way the emergency department was.

I was scheduled for an induction at 41w + 3D. My induction was suppose to start at 5pm but unfortunately they did not have enough nurses to safely start my induction. I was told I had to wait for 3rd shift nurses to begin my induction. While I appreciate medical staff putting patients health first, I wish they would've called & gave me the heads up before heading to the hospital. I had to wait 6 whole hours to start my induction. It was exhausting staying in the labor room for that long to do absolutely nothing & wait.. Anywho, I had a few nurses for my evening/overnight/morning in L&D. All of them were wonderful and really provided great medical care. I ended up getting an epidural around 2 AM with Robert F Early who was so rough with me & my body before starting the epidural. (i wasnt in excruciating pain btw) He lacked bedside manners and was pushing my body so quickly into position like I wasn't 41 weeks pregnant, dealing with contractions & sleepy from medication. I explained to him that he was being rough & to give me a minute to allow myself to get into the position he wanted me in. He then told me "I am not being rough"... nonetheless my epidural went well & I had no problems, just the anesthesiologist himself.. I ended up seeing a few different OBs during my stay all of which were super nice and gentle with me & my body. Dr. Anna Bossert, midwife Amber Evans, nurse Tiffany were all amazing women who helped me push for delivery & gave me all the confidence i needed to keep going, I felt strong having these women coach me through. (THANK YOU AGAIN!) Shortly after I was moved to the mother baby unit which was nice, spacious and you had your own private room. My nurses were okay and the care I was given post delivery was okay as well, nothing extraordinary. Seemed like the level of care decreased once i arrived to mother baby unit. But whoever is in charge of inputting the paper work for the babys birth certificate on mother baby messed up & needs to pay better attention to important legal paperwork given to them.. when i recieved my sons birth certificate in the mail, they put my husbands name as my middle name.. this was very upsetting to see knowing i provided the correct info on the forms... what an inconvenience for me to now send out additional info to PA DOH to get the correct info on my sons birth certificate... moving on, food service was alright, they had a decent amount of food on their menu. They do not offer guest trays for your spouse that stays with you for the night which is unfortunate.. They also have in house newborn photography which was nice, the photographer did such a great job! I def recommend doing the photoshoot. Nonetheless my experience at Reading hospital was good, especially my care during labor & delivery. I would 100% go back to this hospital to deliver again

Took my wife to Urgent Care as her eye was swelling rapidly. They told us it wasn’t allergies and to immediately go to the ER so it didn’t get worse and damage her eye sight, Got here with her eye almost swollen shut and discharging. Almost four hours later she still hasn’t been seen by anyone… first time to this facility since moving to the area and will be driving out of the area from now on so I don’t have to pay an ER just for my wife to end up blind from not being seen and 18 people getting in before us who showed up well after us. Glad someone’s eye sight isn’t a priority but a kids stuffy nose is

Please tell me how this hospital is still in service? 3 times either I or my daughters mom has been in the hospital, and have sat IN THE WAITING ROOM for more then 3 hours. First time was myself with a leg burn that was second degree burns. I was there for 3.5 hours, and many others were there for 13 hours. Second time was Friday May 28th, 2022. My daughters mom was in waiting sitting with me, she was having bad stomach and back pains, and a fever of 103.1. We sat there for 3 hours with nothing happening. Tonight, my daughters mom is there with LIFE THREATENING illnesses, and she's STILL sitting in the waiting room. She was taken their via Ambulance. She's been their since 10pm, and it is now 118am, and she's STILL in the waiting room. What in the he.... I will keep this PG. What in the world is wrong with this picture??? My daughters mother's life is on the line, and you are taking less severe cases first, AND she was brought in via an Ambulance!!!! This does NOT make me a ha]py camper. If something shall happen to her while she is in YOUR hospital, you will have a lawsuit on your backside so hard and so fast, you will not be able to open your eyes without being in the court rooms.

I've been in the waiting room going on 7 hours for my grandma who had surgery about a month ago in both eyes twice already for cancer and they r making us wait this long in the waiting room she has a headace and didn't even schedule for her cat scan, denied her some Tylenol which is rediculous we been here for hours... They are so inconsiderate! They should change the rule they are quick to want to charge insurance and leave us waiting for hours! I bet after charging some insurance half probley don't even get seen because they get so tired of waiting!

A little disappointed with experience last night. Checked in at 7:30 PM. I needed 15 stitches on my hand due to a laceration. Did not get the stitches until 2:30 AM. Why can’t they have an estimated wait time posted when you check in? In this day and age it with algorithms it should be fairly accurate. I could have left and driven to Paoli ER and still been home 2.5 hours earlier. Staff was polite but overwhelmed outside in triage and registration. This will be my last visit to Reading ER.

I had my first child here and it was amazing and everyone was so helpful and great! My second time in l&d was same very amazing staff so sweet and caring. But must I say right when my feet hit the pediatric ward all the nice genuinely helpful nurses were gone. My baby had to be in the pediatric ward for a couple days and in those days I felt so belittled and judged by ALL of the staff. They also did not inform me once in the pediatric ward, no food will be sent to your room. Having another child Dad was at home with our other one. So it was just me and my newborn. None of the nurses ever tried to help me or him. No one ever offers to help me get food. Or checked up on us. They never tried to help me set up his insurance which he STILL DOES NOT HAVE. I give one star reluctantly because I had a great first experience. But any other kids I have or problems will absolutely not be coming back here and will be sharing my experience with anyone and everyone because no one deserves to be treated like that when there most valuable.

The reading hospital needs to go back to school for their degree. The operator has no knowledge of anything. And doesn’t forward to a nurse or someone in the hospital. My nephew was released from the hospital with A fever of 100. A hospital isn’t supposed to let a child leave if it isn’t below 100. Especially if they are under 2. Then they did an X-ray , Covid, one more other test. They didn’t take his poop, didn’t say let’s test for something else. She had to keep asking THEM TO TAKE HIS TEMPERATURE. Now she’s returning the next day cause he’s fever is 109. That happened yesterday. Today is Oct 4 at 9:50/10 pm she is on her way there again. She listened to them , she trust them because they are doctors. They advise her to purchase medicine. The seriousness behind a child fever is his body can shut down. I told her to sue them. Document everything they do while she is there. To NOT LET THEM TELL HER TO LEAVE UNTIL HIS FEVER IS BELOW 100 Update: They poked the baby 5 times. Saying they are trying to find a vein n the vein was right there. With a needle. . My sister took lots video n photos of everything. My poor nephew had a horrible night. She sed if I was there I would have got kicked out for fighting. That’s how bad it went n that she gunna tell me the rest later on

I have been to these hospital conglomerates, Northwell, UHS, Endless Mtns Health System, NY Presbyterian and Parker Sayre PA. The Reading Hospital-Tower Health is the best by far. I did not have to wait to be assigned my own room, Nurse and Patient Care Advisor. PTA. The hospital is immaculate and rooms come with a free television, telephone cord for I-phone and tablet.

This is a great hospital. The nurses, Doctors and staff are amazing. They are very informative when you are having a procedure. The Doctors are very compassionate and take the time to reassure you of the procedure and the process. I would recommend this hospital to anyone seeking treatment. Parking is very convenient too.

Two years ago when I was admitted, there was a doc who came, along with his students who maybe were interns, to see me. He was not even my doctor. He came he examined me and asked me if his students can examine my heartbeat for learning, they all did that. I didn’t know they WOULD charge me. They all charged me including the doc. It is pure corruption at Reading Hospital. Please beware and if you are admitted God forbid, always see if its your own doctor.

I’ve been going to Tower Health since I was a little girl. I’ve had nothing but a great experiences with Family Health Care Center, DOB. However, the past few experiences with the valet manager and ED staff have been unprofessional. The valet manager was very aggressive when approaching me about a parking spot at the cancer center. I had an appointment for an infusion. When asking for his name and title, he snapped and shoved his badge in my window and continued to proceed by instigating. He took his anger out on me due to other people parking in valet parking. I informed him I would move. He continued to snap on me and watch me as I was moving my vehicle. Secondly, a nurse in the ED Check-IN on 01/26/23 was upset because I told her I would no longer answer her questions because she was very rude. She rolled me out on the wheelchair and told me “I need to respect nurses.” She became frustrated because I didn’t understand her question, I was in a car accident and hit my head? I respect all health care workers. I work with doctors and patients myself. Also, My mother is a nurse. No one should stand for unprofessional behavior or attitude while on the job. You maintain your professionalism. The ED staff when I was in a room were very polite and professional. I will maintain my relationship with Family Health Care Center and the Infusion Center; I no longer will be going to the ED any longer. This isn’t my first time in the ED Check-IN dealing with an unprofessional employee(s), Tower Health needs to address these employees behaviors. I’ve reported and addressed my concerns and feel nothing has changed. Although it is a bigger hospital, I rather go somewhere where I am respected, treated with understanding, and employees who maintain their composure.

I can tell you first hand this is one of the best hospitals in the country. Dr Brown and the emergency room team saved my life. Then, the nurses and staff were very caring and professional. Thanks Tower Health!

I am only giving two stars because the nurses here were so amazing during my week long hospital stay. They were kind, empathetic, and knowledgeable. HOWEVER, please know that 99% of the doctors and surgeons here lack all of those characteristics! They also do not communicate with each other whatsoever, even the nurses admitted that to me. It makes your stay here so confusing and frustrating because you’re told different things by different staff. Also don’t plan to rest/sleep while you’re here because you’re woken up everyday at 2 am for blood work and vitals. Then vitals again around 5 am. And then around 7/8 am you’re woken up by a giant group of strangers consisting of med students, doctors, surgeons, and nurses just staring at you. My biggest gripe is with surgeon Adrian Ong. That man has zero people skills. I was 2 days out of gallbladder surgery and he comes in and FIRMLY presses on my stomach, it hurt so bad. He also refused to send me home, even though everyone else was telling me I’d be able to go home, and made me stay an extra day. To finish off my issues with these people; I was given a final ultrasound to make sure everything was good and I would be done with having appts. They *werent sure* if they saw something or not on the ultrasound, so I then had to wait a week and a half to know if I *possibly* had some kind of mass on my liver. They of course had to throw in it could be cancer. I had so much anxiety, it’s literally all I thought about. Just to find out there was nothing there, it was just a shadow. So it’s safe to say the whole experience was incredibly horrific and PLEASE go anywhere other than here.

I have a broken collarbone, collapsed lung, and 6 fractured ribs and they refuse to work with me. They didn’t bring me my pain meds 3 hours after shift change. The nurse was either late 2-3 hours bringing my meds or an hour early which messed up my pain medication totally the next day. Staff is completely disrespectful refuses to let patients leave and keeps them when they refuse service. Id b better off at home yet they refuse to let me go get better

This is the worst night of my life. I don’t even know if the hospital is any good because 4 hours later I’m am sitting with my daughter freezing in the waiting room. Not to mention the first 1 and a half the place was on lockdown so my wife and I had to wait in an in heated hallway from the parking garage. Oh I mentioned my wife she’s still in the unheated hallway because once the lockdown was lifted they then told us that only one person could be in the waiting room. This is the worst hospital I’ve ever been in. I never write reviews but this is soo bad I feel I have too. There were 40 empty chairs in the waiting room at the time I wrote this

Went to ER because could stand up without falling everything well there they put in room to watch me told them all this time that I was still bad problems yet then they omitted me to hospital dont know why because nothing was done for days thereafter for three days. And still told that problems were still happening to me. Sunday morning nurse came in probility will release from hospital sometime today after still what Ive to say about my condition. Release at 3pm in the same condition as I came now upset the poor decisions that were made the doctors part. So at home in bad dizziness still happening yet. From 6/30 since left hospital had problems of falling(3×) now since I've been home not good now. For other problems they didnt have my meds in house give me had to order from my pharmacy glad was close to hospital same gos for treatment what they said they dont do that at the hospital(what kind of hospital is this)at physical therapy to take the symptoms away. Personelly this was a total waste of time and insurance coverage. I've spoken to people that actually call me but is not done yet I'll continue speaking with more people reguarding this issue with Tower Health and there being.

Nice hospital. Everyone from phlebotomists from laboratory services at the DOB, physicians, especially throughout various practices at Tower Health Medical Group, and Outpatient Nutrition Therapy Services are amazing. I was in the ER on 4/23/22 and staff I’ve encountered from security guards, valet staff who parked our car since the parking garage at the ER entrance was complicated to navigate, registars, nurses, my PCA, radiology techs, transporter, and in-house paramedic who escorted me to the acute treatment area and inserted the IV with the ultrasound after difficulty inserting it, and the Dr. McCormick were all amazing, patient and understanding, despite all being extremely busy. They kept me comfortable while inserting the IV and had a nice conversation. First time having an IV, CT scan, and first time since infancy I was a patient in this ER. Radiology techs Denise and the other tech (forgot his name) kept me as ease throughout the procedure and I was worried about being admitted, but thankfully, I wasn’t admitted overnight. Was there for almost 10 hours and it was busy, but waited about 2 hours for a room. Like that the TVs have meditation, games, movies, music, social media, internet, and health education, and an option for headphones and charging ports.

Communication and education for your patients is not your strength. To have a patient not be seen by their hospitalist in over 24hrs (or at least someone to come inform them of what’s going on with their treatment) is ridiculous. The nurse kept feeding meds (Tylenol to be exact) without letting us know what was going on with the tests that were given the night before. I understand that it’s a hospital and doctors are very busy, but you should never be too busy to COMMUNICATE with your patient instead of letting them just lay there... also, own up to your mistakes, if you failed to take care of something with a patient, admit it, apologize and move on. I’ll be submitting more reviews as the time passes..

If 0 were an option, it would be just that. Billing system is THE worst. If you don’t have thousands to pay your bill immediately, don’t go here. I’ve been mislead and lied to, miscommunicated and uninformed. And because of their faults, my credit is RUINED. I am beyond furious and I dread having to deal with this system any further. I didn’t listen to the negative reviews, but I sure wish I did now. The billing system is A J O K E. Sorry not sorry, the employees are not well trained, don’t know how to communicate properly, and ugh. Just not enough time in the day to explain how bad this is. I will speak my piece to ALL places I can leave a review. HOWEVER, my experience in L&D was great. I will forever be thankful to Dr. Payer for saving my daughters life, and to Kristy and Jamie, my L&D nurses, and to Rosie my PP nurse.

  • 3/5 Briana S. 1 year ago on Google
I wish you guys had better options when it comes to payment plans. You guys are so quick to send a bill in the mail and expect it to be paid off in less then 6 months. And I'm not talking about a reasonably priced bill, I'm talking about an absurd amount of money for a single doctors visit. Like work with us on this.

I went here for severe kidney stone pain and I was in 6 hours of agonizing pain to which NOBODY AT THE HOSPITAL HELPED ME WITH!!! They left me in severe pain throughout my entire hospital visit claiming it had something to do with "people abusing the system" so they refused to give me any type of pain relief. I'm sorry, but that is wrong to leave people laying around in our waiting room for 2 hours and an additional 4 hours running tests and leaving your patient lie there in severe pain. Pain so unbearable I threw up TWICE in the lobby's bathroom. When I asked them what do I do for the pain I'm in, they told me to just take Ibuprofen. Yeah you don't think I already tried that? That's why I'm at the hospital in the first place! The staff was kind and friendly, but that doesn't even begin the remedy the fact that a majority of that visit was me just laying around in agonizing pain.

  • 1/5 Scott S. 1 year ago on Google
Medical records office is horrible and the entire hospital gets 1 star because of that. Not fair? Welp, the jobs done by the physician and nursing staff don't matter if I have to jump through a million hoops to get proof that MY CHILD WAS BORN AY YOUR HOSPITAL...I get a bill for thousands of dollars before I get paperwork to submit to my insurance that any care was actually provided. I'm also a nurse employed by tower health, so there ya go. Doesn't matter if the nurses and doctors are good, which they are...the staff is great. But Tower health is awful and they just want your money. For-profit hospitals are the worst.

Friendly staff! Carissa and Cat in the ER were very nice and competent. We did spend 5 hours from beginning of the wait till exiting the ER but my wife got both a CT and ultrasound in that timeframe. The nurse said their ER is busiest on the east coast! I wasn’t so sure about that, but there were a lot of people there. I’d recommend going for non-life threatening emergencies, but expect to spend a few hours there.

Worst hospital to go for emergency. Be prepared to wait 5 to 7 hours without being seen. Your medical emergency is not their concern. Having your billing information is more urgent. Plus so many HIPAA violations in this hospital. They will ask for your personal information like your full name, address, social security out in the open. I heard multiple people addresses and social security numbers without even trying. Poor discretion….

  • 1/5 David Nyce D. 4 months ago on Google
The staff are excellent, the Doctors are the opposite. They have their own agenda, they don't listen to you. They pop in for a few seconds, literally . The nurses, caregivers , male and female from my experience are sincere and dedicated. I kiddingly said the doctors should have running shoes!

I did called patient Advocate and the refuse to give me an address at Carpio Partners and said they could not find my account .

This is the worst hospital in this state!!! We have literally been sitting here for 7 hrs so far with no one checking on my wife in over 3 of those!! No type of hospitality towards comfort ignorant responses when u ask questions how is this place still even able to call itself a functional hospital!!! Things need to be handled in a better fashion and the er should be properly staffed and trained !!! There's no excuse to the wait times

This rating is mainly for their finance department. Their payment system is awful. As if getting slapped with a $2000 bill from one ER visit isn't deplorable enough, their system refused to allow any type of bill reminder other than by mail. This doesn't work for everybody. Then their system didn't apply a payment because it was made in the same month as the last. Off to collections it went, and there was nothing they could do about it.

I will say i had excellent care in the maternity unit! This one nurse was absolutely amazing! Latest experience was medical records trying to get records! The women was extremely unprofessional and rude!! No help at all! Both departments said different things and got NO assistance at all! Should be a fairly simple request but not when u have 2 different people telling you 2 different things! Unreal!!

So I understand what's gonna happen to my parent. But how can you see my mom shaking all day. Then turns into a seizure. Thanks now she can't talk. Plus when someone gives you their decision honor it instead of being on them all day. We will let you know when they wanna give up.

The nurses in the emergency room are the worst! My mother was admitted 24 hours ago and diagnosed with kidney stones in her urethra. If not passed she’ll need surgery this morning. I’ve called 3 times today and I was hung up on every time. I was put on hold the first time for 42 minutes then the nurse answered and just hung up on me in mid conversation!? These are the least professional and empathetic people I’ve ever had to deal with. I’m calling HR to make a formal complaint.

I was taking the in the ambulance because I'll never thought that I had an overdose and it was definitely two weeks ago and has not given the mask I had my pajama bottoms on a T-shirt and barefooted the nursing wear masks and the fake nurse didn't wear masks and they sent me home without him asking it had to get my own cap

I wish I could give NO stars. This hospital is a joke. My husband went in because he wasn’t feeling well for about 2wks. Has been vomiting and running a fever, we were thinking possibly the flu. He went in today to be seen and the Doctor look in his mouth checked his ears and told him whatever is going on it’s fighting to get out his system. No flu swab and no bloodwork to even attempt to diagnose the problem. Beware people you could physically be dying on the inside and they would never know. All I can pray is nothing happens to my husband or I will be suing this hospital for wrongful diagnosis.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ WOMENS HEALTH CENTER & CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE: This place saved my LIFE. Through all the trauma, abuse and addiction I endured, they were there when nobody else was. They gave me the guidance I was lacking. They gave me all the tools and resources I needed and never left my side. 2 years later, I’m at a whole different place in my life and now they share my success story with others. These social workers/doctors/ nurses are amazing people, that I will continue to carry in my heart ♥️

I had a great experience at the ER today. The entire staff, from security to doctors were friendly and helpful. I was seen quickly and doctors and nurses were caring and did everything to take care of me and make me comfortable.

The Reading hospital is GARBAGE. The orthopedic team is a bunch of mouth breathing morons, and to even make an appointment with them I had to wait over 24 hours for a call back. Much better off going to Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Security guards one in particular is too aggressive for his job title. Failed discharge for my mom er night shift doctor sent her home with a brain bleed she was admitted at another hospital three hours later into trauma then ICU.

Went here with extreme pain. They made me wait almost two hours the nurses did not care about my pain whatsoever!!! Then once I finally got to the doctor that is suppose to help people that beg for it. They do nothing at all then charge my insurance for me breathing there air. CAUSE THATS ALL THEY DID FOR ME LET ME BREATH THERE AIR.

Run away from this place as fast as you can. Worked with office of Dr. Lisa Leschek-Gelman, MD who is the Chief of Neurology. Put in a prescription for a drug refill. Staff did not look at it for 5 days. When we finally realized what was happening - we called them over and over again to be met with people who continuously kept transferring calls with no one actually answering or helping. We are still waiting for their call back and would have probably died if we kept waiting without exploring alternatives. The doctor was good/ok but the staff are horrible - I would run away from this place as fast as you can considering the way they treated us for a vital drug.

Went in for an ER visit with my wife and son. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, caring and helpful. This has seldom been my experience at hospitals, especially ERs and I just couldnt believe how much of a contrast Reading Hospital was. No one likes going to the Hospital but seriously thank you to Reading for treating us like people.

I recently had to go to Reading Hospital for an emergency situation. After spending 7plus excruciating hours in the ER. I was sent to my temporary room. I can't say enough great things about the Staff in that area of the hospital. They took great care of me and made sure that I was very comfortable. Due to the unavailability of beds, I was transferred to the E Pod and again I was treated very professionally by all of the Staff. Finally I was transferred to my final room R 400 area. Again, the Staff took extremely good care of me and made sure that I had whatever I needed and was kept up to date on all of my test results. People need to understand that this is one of the busiest ERs in the Country and taking care of such a diverse population of clients all wanting to be seen immediately is an impossible request. Try and put yourself in their place and how you would react. Overall, I was extremely please with the hospital.

If I could put a 0 I would the worst hospital to work for because they discriminate. The managers don't know how to handle any situation or issue when it comes to an employee and on top of that hr isn't on your side either when you go too them for help, they just like to ignore your voicemail and not give you a call back for two weeks as of they don't wanna fix the issue. Horrible company.

Horrible and lack of communication between medical staff and myself. Medical decisions were made about my treatment without asking me, the patient OUTRAGEOUS AND INCOMPETENT

Wait time in ER for child head injuries too long as they take care of all the common colds who won’t go to Urgent Care or Drs office. Some of the nurses need a class on personality and how to deal with people!

Treated me very well and have friendly service. They are also very clean(of course). Although you sometimes have to wait a while, I can not say that I didn't feel better after leaving the ER. 10/10

I have always dealt with this Hospital and always had the best care and best doctors. From childhood to adult I've never had a bad experience or been given poor care from any doctor I have seen. I won't go anywhere else for any medical issues. I trust my doctors 100%.
