After using Alpharetta Animal Clinic for 20 years we’re looking for a new vet. The services have changed, the prices are significantly higher, and they aren’t as compassionate as they have always been. The fact that they are closed on Saturday for vet services is definitely a deal killer. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that our favorite Dr’s have left also.

I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Alpharetta Animal Hospital! Working in the animal welfare field, I am there almost weekly with different animals needing everything from routine vet care to complicated surgical or medical care. The doctors are all knowledgeable and caring. Oftentimes able to help pets other doctors have not been able to successfully treat. They have a larger number of doctors on staff, which makes scheduling surgeries and appointments much more timely than at your average veterinary practice. Would not hesitate to recommend AAH to all looking for exceptional care for their Furbabies!

Cat owners: Beware! Very disappointed with my last visit for my 2 year old cat. I've been taking my childhood dog to this vet for over 15 years and have never had an issue, however, this last time has me searching for a new vet entirely. It’s a real shame, since we love our usual vet that’s worked there for quite some time. The younger female vet for this visit was extremely rough with my cat, grabbing her by the scruff and yanking her from her carrier aggressively (the carrier had a lifting top for easy, non stressful access). My cat has never been non-compliant, she doesn't scratch, bite, hiss, or hide during any part of the process. When they took her back for a urinalysis for a UTI (which should be a relatively painless procedure), I heard the most guttural, heart wrenching scream ever come from my cat. She was given nothing for pain management whilst having a needle inserted through her abdomen, and into her bladder, despite the bill being upwards of $500. When she was returned, her eyes were watering and she nearly FAINTED on the exam table and was in a state of complete shock, and the vets (or techs?) only response was "yeah, she flinched pretty good when we stuck her". She was dazed and unable to walk when we took her home. There was no follow up after traumatizing her and doing god knows what behind closed doors, I was terrified and have NEVER seen my cat in that condition, and she has routine vet visits with "uncomfortable" circumstances. I understand that sometimes there are painful things that must happen when caring for pets, but this HAD to of been ENTIRELY unacceptable.

I have been a long time client of Alpharetta Animal Hospital (more than 15 years) and can’t say enough good things about them. While they are a very busy clinic, I have always felt well taken care of there with all of my fur family and continue to fully trust that we’re in the very best hands! I have referred many people and will continue to do so.

Tried to have Dr Sims call me to talk about my dogs skin condition as the vet she referred me to hasn’t returned my multiple calls and I couldn’t get an appt. She had someone call me to say she had referred me to a skin specialist in March. Well I needed to speak to her but she obviously can’t be bothered. Check yelp reviews. People are not happy with this facility she is uncaring and unconcerned and I needed tests done but will have to go somewhere else. Very unhappy

The staff is extremely rude and always condescending. Apparently you have to arrive 10 mins prior to your appt time, which I was not told, and upon arriving at my appointment (on time I thought?) I was told it was very inconsiderate of me to not give them a heads up I would be late. They bring your dog to the back while you stay in an exam room and I could hear the front desk receptionist talking badly about me to the tech. Seeing as this wasn’t the first incident where I was made to feel uncomfortable, I will be switching veterinarians immediately. Which is unfortunate as I’ve been coming here for a while (my dog is almost 11).

The staff is nice but I am always in question of the efficiency. My dog is very particular about the groomer Joy which is why I continue to come here. Regardless of if it was Covid and staff shortage or not, it is always 30 minutes wait just to drop off. I don’t understand why that is the case and I have been with this location for many years.

I've taken several of my pets here. They were recommended by RMG after I fostered and adopted so I continued their care here to ensure continuity and because I liked the vets and staff so much. One was a very sick kitten found nearly frozen + a severe respiratory infection. They saved his life! He's now running around my house like a true kitten and making up for any lost time while sick. They didn't give up on him and I'm so grateful for that. I've also taken my two very old chihuahuas (one passed at 17 and the other is 20 now!) here for checkups, tooth extraction, and other treatment. Despite their age, they've gotten the best of care. When one had kidney failure, they were able to revive her and she lived another 4-5 very comfortable and happy months. They could've just said she was old and it wasn't worth it but they recognized that she had the fight to live and was treatable. She eventually passed away a few months later but I'm thankful for the extra few months she had - happy and healthy. When she did pass, Dr Keller was so wonderful and kind at such a sad time. I've been to many vets as I have had a lot of dogs and cats over the year and I highly recommend them!

I've been using this vet since 1996. Always pleased with the care and the vet care. Front staff were always helpful. Even during covid they were great! However several of their best vets have left and imo only one remains who is an excellent diagnostic vet that looks for cause vs just treating symptoms by "the book" I was disappointed that they discontinued walk ins. I can make an appt but if you have an acute situation and they are "filled" you're usually out of luck even though they do try to accommodate after you ask the front desk to ask a doctor. Not having Saturday hours even for walk ins is a huge disappointment. The front staff has turned over a few times and quite frankly with the turn over to their new computer system/software/phone upgrade, several of my booked appts were either not updated or removed. So I was out of luck. Hopefully they have worked the kinks out. I still whole heartily recommend this hospital but always recommend a specific doctor who has been there since we began going there, who is a 10 out of 10. I gave a 3 rating only because of the procedural changes that have been implemented. Otherwise it would have been a 5.

ALMOST KILLED MY DOG! My senior dog was left in their care over three nights with all his medications handy and a detailed list of his needs. I was told they could accommodate them all easily. When I came to pickup Max he had no updates about how he was doing during his stay or updates about his medication. Because NO ONE ADMINISTERED HIS MEDS. I don’t think he received any during his stay there. Now my dog is lethargic, not eating, me and my family fear he might pass any moment now. This would have been avoided if the proper care I was promised and I paid money for was administered. I tried calling, but it really didn’t seem like they could care less.

I’ve brought my dogs here for 10 years, my parents did the same 15 years before. I’m glad they changed the schedule and now allow appointments instead up just walk ins. It’s a great neighborhood vet and the care is reasonably priced.

Absolutely LOVE this Animal Hospital! Everyone is so nice and helpful and Dr. Keller is the best! He always explains everything in such detail so you are able to truly understand everything that may be going on with your pet. I recently had to let one of my beloved dogs cross the rainbow bridge and he was so compassionate and made me feel I was truly making the right decision. I will always use this Animal Hospital! :)

My cat has had issues with diarrhea and vomiting for the last year. I took him in monthly and they kept raising his dose saying it was from his hyperthyroidism. It continued to get worse. He recently started eating much less and I was still told it was hyperthyroidism and to raise his dose again. During this time he boarding with them twice for about a week each. He died this morning. We took him to another vet that said he clearly had cancer and that they could feel multiple masses in his abdomen.

This animal hospital is unbelievable. It’s a Saturday in mid-August, (95° outside mind you), and there are dogs locked outside in the back stacked in crates. I was in the area with family just passing by the hospital, and the constant whimpers and barks made us stop. We left the place for about 3-4 hours, and when we came back the dogs were still barking. The poor animals are non-stop barking because of the heat, and I’m sure their water is dry and hot. There is no one in the entire building, meaning that these animals were probably given food and water in the morning, then left alone for the rest of the day OUTSIDE in their crates. I’m not sure if they are being “boarded” or what, but please DO NOT send your animals here to be left alone or “taken care of.” There is nothing more I could have done but tell anyone who is considering using Alpharetta animal hospital’s service NOT to.

Best Place I can trust bringing my Sally here. They are kind to her when she was still young and had too much energy. And yet kind to her when she is now older with joint issues. A little bit of a wait time if you come at the busy time, but it is an walk-ins no appointment needed. I understand. And if there is an emergency case of cause they should be prioritized. Thank you for everything you all do, love our pets and not trying to overcharge our bills.

I usually don’t do reviews but felt compelled to share how wonderful this place is. Dr Keller has helped pull us out of a crucial time and placed it hold for now. We’ve been using this hospital since we moved here 34 years ago with 4 different small dogs. We’ve had all kinds of health issues with the different ones. We have never had anything other than loving care. We’ve just had another crucial experience with our semi aging baby. When you go through something like this, it means the world to have a loving, trusting and professional doctor to turn it over to. The whole staff and facility are nothing short of wonderful. We are thankful for all they do.

My friend recommended this practice to me for my kitten, so I am a new customer and have been there 4 times now. I really like the fact that you do not have to have an appointment to see them and that they open early. I have been impressed with both Dr. Perales and Dr. Doiron, they are friendly and knowledgeable, and my kitten likes them too. I have not had a pet in a long time so I do not have recent vet experiences and prices to compare this one to. I am happy with them and am recommending this practice to others.

Dr Sullivan is the absolute best. Although she had a busy schedule today, she got my dog in immediately who was having a minor emergency and was very thorough in her treatment and explanation of care. She literally saved the day. We can’t thank her enough. We would also like to give a shout out to Cassie who noticed our stress and got a tech out immediately despite having a busy waiting room.

We set an appointment for the same day for one of my Pomeranians, who had developed a strong diarrhea and the team there took care of us really fast. We went in at 5.30 pm and Dr. Davenport was quick and very helpful. My dog was taken care of nicely, and we got some prescription medicine for him. Hopefully he'll be good soon, but in any case, the attention was amazing.

Absolutely everyone we encounter at Alpharetta Animal Hospital is so kind and helpful. We don’t have one assigned vet, so we have seen a few, and we give 2 thumbs-up to all! We also take advantage of the grooming and boarding services—all the best! Thank you from Bella and her cousins (also AAH clients).

👍👍 I cannot thank Dr. Bishop, Dr. Di Cicco and the North Main staff enough for the love and care they showed my dog Cody for over 5 years. They helped me manage Cody’s heart failure and collapsing trachea through guidance and medication. They always took their time seeing Cody and made sure his medicat...
