I had worked at Mount Sinai a while ago and loved the atmosphere and kindness that was always generated from Admin, Physicians to Patients. Today I call to ask one simple question. "Hello, I am calling to ask for an email address for student loans." Before I could say anything further, Tasha in HR states "Let me know when your ready?" My question wasn't even completed. She continues "Let me know when your ready quickly" I had to ask her to repeat the email (3times), because she was so rude and incompetent with her demeanor on the phone I was appalled ( As if I was interrupting her during her job duties), THIS IS THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of Mount Sinai ? WOW!!!! Definitely not what I remember such a shame. Tasha, If you don't like your position there are many more in the backhouse of the hospital. Being front and center is definitely not for you.

Horrible experience here!!!! Disgusting place. Iā€™m 7 months pregnant and was in an accident in Hialeah and transported there because they refused to transport me to a different hospital for treatment to keep me within their system. Whatever. I came in and immediately went to the bathroom which was in a delivery room hence me being pregnant. The toilet had pee on it and also there was blood on the floor. I laid on the bed and there was hair from another patient and a distinct smell on the fluids pad laid on the bed when i laid on it. It smelled like must. I got up and threw away the pad and when the nurse came in i asked for a change of sheets and a new pad at least and she said that itā€™s ridiculous i would think they didnā€™t clean the room. I told Her about the smell on the pad and she took it out of the trash and smelled it and said ā€œall i smell is plasticā€ and looked at me with a bad face. I told her to take a look at the bathroom it clearly shows no one has come to clean the room. If all this money is going to be charged to my claim i want CLEAN SERVICE. She then told me arent you in pain? Letā€™s get you in this bed now and monitor the baby. I didnā€™t want To argue with her any longer and i laid down and let her put the contraction monitor on me. I noticed the biohazard bin was wide openā€¦. Why? Also the cabinet holding supplies was open and had several syringes in a box that were accessible to any patient. What if i was an addict??? THEN WHAT? Careless!!!!!! There was also gauze tape on my bed which is literally disgusting. Iā€™ll never in my life go to this hospital again and once i find out where to report this I will make sure to send in all the photos I have. Iā€™ve heard nothing but horrible things about this hospital but i couldnā€™t believe how dirty they could be with pregnant women who are supposed to be in sterile care. I was also inserted a needle to draw blood and the nurse bent my arm while the needle was in my arm and ripped it out of my arm leaving me in pain and bruised. Absolutely horrible.

My experience has been mixed. I really like my cardiologist - she is top notch (Dr. Mechanic). However, I have been in and out of the hospital for various procedures and tests and many of the nurse staff and others really don't provide good care. They rush through, sometimes act as though your questions are annoying, and there is a lot of misinformation and issues with scheduling. I'm having a quadruple bypass this week and it has been a nightmare to get scheduled. Also, during my pre-op they handed me some sanitizer and said wash and put this in your nostrils and closed the service window. If you need surgery or important medical attention, I would suggest a different hospital.

This review is specifically for the security of Skolnick Surgical Tower. Kevin and Ashanti. Me and my family have been here since 10 am and been switching every two partners to go see my father in the ICU unit. He is very ill and we are taking every advantage to see him as much as possible even with the restrictions we understand and have. My pass did not have to be created since I turn it in so my brother or grandmother have to switch so they can go up and see him. At literally 731 , she said that only my mother can go up and not me because they do not create passes after 730. Mind you my pass did not have to be created because it was reused various times during the day. After waiting sitting in front of her she managed to help 2 families go up after the fact it was past 740. Then at literally 754 , they all escorted us outside because they were closing the lobby. Before 8 !!!! Not even allowing my brother to use the restroom. But of course they are extremely puntual that at 8 pm on the dot they were out the door and leaving us outside waiting for us loved ones who are still upstairs. Horrible horrible service. We already donā€™t want to be here due to our loved illness and conditions and they treated us with no empathy at all !!!!!

NURSES do NOT WORK HERE, the people who work on the floors (that havenā€™t left yet) are incredible and deserve better. The management is soulless and theyā€™ll literally charge new nurses $5,000 for ā€œtrainingā€ if they leave before 2 years. There a plenty of hospitals where the hospital management treat people like human beings and this isnā€™t one of them.

This hospital is not what it should be when it comes to treating patients. Two of the nurses was very great too me and doctor. Some doctor don't take the time to listen to the patient situation. I understand test would come back normal. There was no communication with the staff (doctor) There is a lady in training with the doctor she came to my room twice she has a bad spirit hope this is not the way she going to treat patients at Mount Sinai hospital 7 floor. Never was the bed change, ask for towel and sleep gown the lady look upset I said thank you she walks away. Order a Ct scan test get down there doctor cancel test. I inform staff you all ain't no better than Jackson hospital. I no there pros and cons. Respect should always be given to the patience we are the one's not feeling good. Kindness is the right way.

My husbandā€™s grandmother was admitted to this hospital after midnight. Nobody was allowed to be with her until 10:00 a.m. I called this morning to just know how sheā€™s doing. The lady who took my call was speaking very fast and rude, she told me that they were switching shifts, that nobody was able to take my call. I just called a few minutes ago, the same lady with a rude tone of voice told me that the nurse was in a meeting and that no one could take my call. She suggested me to drive over there to see her and check by myself. My husband is on his way over there but we just wanted to know about her before getting there. This is not the hospital to take any of my relatives or myself. Sad reality.

I have been a patient and in-patient at Mt. Sinai since 2010. I believe in preventative care and have gone to a few doctors who have had their offices there over the years. Located in Miami Beach by I195, Mount Sinai Medical Center specializes in Cardiology, cancer treatments, Neurosciences, urology, robotic surgeries, and other conditions (vision, hearing loss, vertigo, podiatry). I have always received the best care from the doctors and nurses while there. The only reason that I didn't give a 5 star review is because it is always such a pain to pay for parking. It is only $5 for 4 hours, but the 2 pay machines on the 2nd floor do not always work correctly. There is a button to push asking for help, but today, after pushing the button, I stood there in pain waiting for 20 minutes, but no one came to help. I decided to drive downstairs to the checkout booth, explain the situation, and ask if I could pay him. He agreed, and it was handled efficiently like it used to be years ago.

Phenomenal place. I have had the pleasure of sending several private concierge patients to the ER for COVID monoclonal antibody treatments. All the employees at Mt Sinai are true professionals!!! Thank you to all the wonderful wealthy families who donated to Mount Sinai to make it a premier center of excellence!

First off they had me in the most filthiest room.. Blood on the floorā€¦ broken needle under the bed.. On top of their patient service is horrible. They lied to me on several occasions when not needed. They left me in pain my whole stay at the hospital. Nurses were disappointing to deal with. Never will I come back here might catch somethingā€¦

I have to say that the nurses and doctors are very professional and nice, and the hospital itself is very nice, resort like. However, the hospital staff donā€™t seem to be too organized. My mom was taken for an EKG and was left alone in hallway and no one came to assist. after waiting for a few minutes, with no one around, she decided to get up and started walking until a cleaning person saw her and took her to the front desk. It was a very unpleasant, and scary experience for her. Also, while We were in the lobby we saw a couple of incidents with other people and the security guard. I understand they have enforced some guidelines because of the covid, but they donā€™t make much sense. They closed the lobby at 8 pm, unannounced, and got everyone out, and no one could go to their relatives rooms after that. Patients were not allowed to have any one stay with them until they got an authorization before 12 pm. Otherwise they have to stay by themselves, regardless of their age, conditions or else. Be prepared for the unexpected because thereā€™s no good communication between the staff and the visitors. I hope they can resolve these issues that actually add more stress to everyone.

Extremely nasty service at the front of the surgical tower. ā€œSusanā€ extremely dirty. Picking her nose, biting her nails, and continuously keeping her fingers in her mouth. I would expect a more hygienic receptionist from such a high end hospital. Disappointing.

Doctors Nurses all A+ New Building A+ However, can someone explain how the hospital and security will not allow a 17 year old to visit their mother after surgery but will allow another person to bring in their dog into surgical center. Iā€™m confused? Is that sanitary? This hospital better get a look at itā€™s rules. And lastly, security at night, not too friendly and a bit of trouble makers. They are just picking on some individuals that are there to visit with family. I say if you donā€™t enjoy your love get another, there are plenty of jobs out there. But do not have a family member already going through a hard time go through a worse one because you are useless and un friendly. Please take a look as security some have no need here.

Horrible labor experience with unprofessional residents and frustrating pediatric care with Dr. Adams. Poor communication, no care for people over protocol, no ability to discuss or have a say in care of my child with no data to back decisions made. Fantastic security guards though and nice nurses! The most care and consideration our family got.

Donā€™t come here if youā€™re expecting quick service. Even if the ER looks empty you will have to wait long hours. They will just forget about you. As a pregnant woman, I still ended up waiting 6 hours with excruciating pain, only to be told I need to go home and take more Tylenol. When I first arrived the female doctor there dismissed my pain immediately, before reading any of my health history, that shows I have fibroids. After all the tests, the nurses said I will see the doctor to discuss the results. The nurse that did my ultrasound said she didnā€™t know how to interpret the scans, and that I needed to wait for the doctor to speak to me. I had no idea what the ultrasound results meant. I waited several more hours. Instead, the doctor chose to unprofessionally chat with staff while I suffered in the room right in front of her. The doctor never spoke to me about the results, or the pain, or any of my concerns. I never spoke to her at all after that. You will be given a bunch of Wikipedia papers by the nurses, and then sent home. I donā€™t even know if this is legal. Iā€™ve never had this happen at a hospital before. They even gave me the wrong patient discharge paper, I have some random mans name on mine. So unorganized. The staff and nurses are all kind and incredible. The doctor just doesnā€™t care at all. Please I beg you to go somewhere else if you want to see a doctor. My symptoms continue with no resolution and if it gets worse, Iā€™m definitely NOT going back to that hospital.

No stars if I could. horrible horrible service. Parent was taken to their ER, these people had no clue how to handle a sick patient - no food or medicine for a diabetic? not even questions, she would spend all day alone in the room with just 1 nurse showing face all day? that's unacceptable! Lungs were filling with fluid, no explanation as to why it was happening, or how to treat it, they just drained and left as is (new doctor told us that so dangerous as this procedure has high infection rate - needles to say after 1 week parent was released with absolutely nothing done by anyone at Mount Sinai and a horrible horrible bruise to show the incompetency of these people. one more week and I would have lost a parent thanks to these horrible so called nurses - Took to Sylvester and they are running all sorts of test. - Seriously avoid this hospital if you want to find cause of whatever is happening with your body.

Due to such bad experience with mount Sinai medical center Miami Beach I have no choice but to write this report. About seven years ago I had an emergency and went to MSMC Miami and was treated quickly and professionally and was happy with the outcome in the emergency room. This past Monday upon the recommendation of my primary care I was urge to go to emergency room and I choose MSMC Miami again. The process was quick and efficient and professional in the ER. They advised that I would have to be admitted for further test and treatment. The ER staff then handed me Over to be admitted. I laid on a bed in the ER for over 14 hours without food or water or attention until I got out of the bed and complained and then was finally escorted to admittance and my room. Without much communication the nurses came completed vitals. I spent the next three days with nurses who seem to to be all under stress with little knowledge of my case or my attending physician and in one occasion one nurse stuck me Three times piercing my skin before she was able To draw blood. I was told that my blood would be drawn early am for the doctor to review my case. This happened on one occasion and other times my blood wasnā€™t drawn until almost mid day. When I asked if the doctor reviewed my case a nurse replied no it was too late and he had to leave for 2pm. I spent the next three days listening to the unprofessional patient care technicians scream in the hallway entering and leaving room in uproar and one occasion the technician spilled water all over my room and my table and forgot to clean up until I called. I only discovered on the morning of my discharge by a nice food attendant that each day I should have been asked which food options I wanted. I was stuck with nasty chicken everyday without options. On my day for discharge they took forever to take the blood test and when they did the doctor had already left. I had to text the doctor to ask him to release me. When I was released that night they indicated the medication I should take in the discharge to start the next day. Itā€™s now three days later the medication hasnā€™t been sent to the pharmacy so I am not being treated as planned. The hospital says they canā€™t get a hold of the doctor. This was my first time held overnight in a hospital and what a nightmare.

Me and my family have been regular patients of Mt. Sinai Hospital for many years. The level of customer service in general in that place has declined to levels that reach the lack of respect for patients in a hospital and relatives admitted. My father has been in the hospital since Monday and up to this moment (Friday morning) I haven't received ONE single call from a Doctor (except the emergency doctor who admitted him initially). My father has been exposed to several tests (XRAYS, CTScans and MRIs) and I haven't been able to get a phone call from anyone on the results. In addition, my father has been relocated to several rooms. In the process, I have had to call several numbers to try to reach the nurse stations. Most people answering the phones have been rude, insensitive, and lately they have told me and several family members calling that room X "doesn't exist" and hang up. It is with great dissapointment that I send this note, while going thru a very sad moment as I see my father's life in hands in incompetency, bad manners, unprofessionalism and a careless approach to the patient and relatives.

Wow such a Horrible experience DO NOT GO TO THIS ER I was left in room for 4 hours ā€¦. I had to ask to be discharged because after requesting a update and no one ever came by to let me know whatā€™s going on I legitimately couldnā€™t take it anymore sitting in a cold isolated room with many thoughts running through my head than realizing not a single staff member stopped by to offer some water or provide a update not even to ask if I was okay considering my 4 hour stay thatā€™s honestly ridiculous ! staff had the nerve to ask me while I filled out discharge do I know the risk of denying medical treatment because I asked to be discharged oh but coincidently doctor suddenly appears to explain what could be wrong but staff right before said doctor was busy and couldnā€™t be rushed so I have to request discharge to be seen ? I understood the risk of requesting discharge but do you guys understand the risk of someone complaining about a certain pain and being abandoned in a room for 4 hours and I still probably would of been waiting if I chose to stay I will never go this hospital Er again .

Very nice hospital and facilities, but the secretaries working, for example, in Elizabeth Kramer's office are super rude. They call me today while I was on my way to the appointment I had scheduled for over 2 months and canceled it because they did not have the vaccine. They did not even ask me to reschedule. I spoke with them in English and Spanish, and in both languages, they managed to be rude and not help me or even feel any empathy. Even when the automatic machine call me 1 day before to ask me to confirm the appointment. The Doctor (Elizabeth Kramer) is super professional and helped me a lot with my doubts in our first meeting. I super recommend her, but not the Mount Sinai staff in her office.

This is the absolute worst hospital I have EVER been to in my entire life. Nurses know absolutely NOTHING, only had 2 good nurses my entire week stay. They are absolutely lost, possibly new grads with no preceptors. One of the nurses came in to admin IV fluids - lactated ringers WITH dextrose for a non diabetic patient while my fluids were running at 300mL/ hour. My glucose would have been THROUGH the roof and this couldā€™ve spiraled into a VERY serious problem. They take NOTHING you say seriously. Thankfully, I work in the field and study medicine; I have a lot of knowledge and had to correct most of my nurses on multiple occasions. They have NO resources during night shift whatsoever. The charge nurse Katya is absolutely horrible, she has 0 ethics, 0 professionalism, and 0 compassion. They administered a midline to simply push fluids because NONE of these idiotic nurses were able to catch a vein and prevent infiltration nor were they open to calling ICU nurse to admin IV. On my second night with the midline, I began to complain about numbness and tingling in the arm where the line was, but per usual, I was ignored. I was told my nightshift nurse would take a look. Raquel, my nightshift nurse has 0 idea what sheā€™s doing, donā€™t know how these nurses passed their NCLEX. She completely ignored me until I yelled for help and demanded to be taken down to ultrasound because I was hypertensive, NO range of motion, my arm was rigid, obvious signs of edema, and had significant capillary refill delay. I was begging and yelling for medical attention for 6 HOURS, while the charge nurse was too busy yelling and threatening my father - who wanted me to leave the hospital as she refused to let us leave and remove my line. They called rapid response and the only person that showed was an EKG tech who didnā€™t even have an order placed for an EKG, so she did nothing but stand there in awe as I screamed for help watching my hand turn color. How the hell can this hospital respond to a code?! I yelled for ultrasound and rapid response and Katya said there were no doctors nor ultrasound. She instructed I sit down and take a tylenol - WHAT?! They did not put electrodes on me to monitor my cardiac activity while I had a suspected CLOT, no nurse to care for me, nor a doctor. I was left to fend for myself. After 6 hours of arguing and screaming for my life, they took me down to ultrasound where the reported I had 3 clots DVT. Ken, an angel of a person, was the ONLY nurse who assisted me. He removed my line and assured me I will be okay. Raquel NEVER came back inside my room to check on me nor take my vitals, etc. He urged the NP on call to come over to the hospital so that I can get my heparin drip. He was also able to simple out in a new line with a larger catheter. Their lab is a DISASTER, but letā€™s speak about the more catastrophic events - as it was a total nightmare. Fast forward, I am now getting discharged with ORAL blood thinners without the doctor reviewing my most recent labs. I had labs done at 3:00 AM and 11:17 AM. My doctor only saw my 3:00 AM labs before discharging me, while my labs at 11:17 AM showed my PTT was at 123.6. A patients PTT cannot be over 100 due to increased risk for aneurysms, hemorrhaging, etc. I was absolutely hemophiliac. Long story short, I had to pause the blood thinners or else my PTT would have been at dangerously high levels. This is also the labs fault because they are so understaffed, the labs arenā€™t done on time nor do they collect them in a timely manner. This hospital is absolutely terrifying and nightshift is a complete nightmare. I know this hospital has had many casualties and death due to their negligence. 0/10 and I would warn everyone, unless you want to die, so not visit this hospital. You will be left alone to fend for yourself or at the mercy of God. Had it not been for Ken, Chief Supervisor of Nursing, and myself - knowing all that I do - I wholeheartedly believe I would have lost my arm, been permanently disabled, or even dead. Please, stay away from this hospital.

I have to take my mom to the hospital with an emergency. She was convulsing and in the emergency department nobody knows what to do. I put in FaceTime with my daughter that is a IUC nurse and live in Chicago. She was said ā€œthey are wasting timeā€ and one of a nurse ( man) instead to worry of take care of my mom. He started to reply with actitud. And talking with the other about they donā€™t. One doctor told me she needs to go for a surgery. Then another nurse told me we are preparing her to take her to the room. They did not comunĆcate at all. After, the surgery at first she was responding and suddenly she was not responding at all. All the doctor started to say my mom is was not able to survive. I donā€™t know was going on. I donā€™t know what to do. Doctor needs to stop making that families take decision in that situation so soon. My mom died and my life is devastating . She was healthy. She has nothing previous to this. I need somebody contact me and explain what happen to her. Why after the surgery the nurse in charge told me she was responding . My mom could be alive is were better management of the situation. I am sure. I think because she is 83 is she did not count anymore. All that they said is her age. But she was healthy. Doctors need to stop with the practice taking care of the paciente regarding the age. My mom was good and all that they said is her age.

This place used to be great. Donā€™t know what happened. I keep reading the staff are rude-I would be too if I got paid as little as they do. Other hospitals pay more. I would be frustrated. I have a friend whose daughter works there(not a doctor or nurse) and her pay is significantly lower than her friends with the same job at Baptist and Jackson. MSMC doesnā€™t appreciate it take care of their employees. So donā€™t blame the staff. Blame the CEO and the board. They have a high turn over rate for a reasonā€¦

My wife had a masectomy. The surgeons were great. Our after care was terrible. When pressing call buttons for nurse a med tech would show up and tell you theyā€™ll call nurse. It would take 45 minutes plus for a nurse to come. I timed it multiple times. When told you are being discharged at 10 am and to wait for paperwork they never bring it. Itā€™s 320pm. If you live far away they donā€™t give you required pain meds for trip home. They donā€™t even check on you for hours at a time. Nurses are nice but way too short staffed. And if you ask for a doctor good luck. Takes hours. Youā€™re better off calling the surgeons office for him to call and get you help, thatā€™s what I had to do. Iā€™m still waiting. Thank you for a great surgery. But fix you patient care. Also, the alarms donā€™t stop in this place for patients needing help. And when they do itā€™s a tech coming ten minutes later to shut it off and tell you they will notify a nurse. This is sad. This is people with cancer. And when they read this theyā€™ll ask me to call them so they can try to change review or lose it. I am a patient person and am understanding. But this is sad. We shouldā€™ve went to Moffit like everyone suggested.

I see a lot of bad reviews! I had a call from a recruiter, Natalie very nice pleasant girl, I was scheduled twice to have an interview with the hire manager and both times she did not show up to the interview letting me waiting. Very unprofessional hire manager this hospital has, this way it will not go anywhere, I am glad I did not take this job; however is her lost!

Why did you release my dad without talking to family that called in to ask about him? He deteriorated rapidly after being released home to no one- arenā€™t there checks and balances in place to help ensure somebody will be home ? Instead I drove from Colorado straight to Florida (33 hours alone!) after he finally asked for the help himselfā€¦ when I called to ask for guidance after making the trip, I was told I was one day late to access the doctors ā€”-negligence, shame on you-

This is the worst and most unprofessional medical care I have ever encountered. My father-in-law was admitted due to problems with oxygen saturation. After being cramed into a small room at the ER for over 24 hours without getting moved, (even though theyt kept telling us he had a new room reserved for him), when I visited him we found him laying soaked in his own urine, which he had been for quite some while. After trying to tell the staff we ended up having to change him by ourselves! I had to get him water since he was drying out, but no one had the decency or professionalism to make sure that a delirious old man on oxygen wasn't having a dried out mouth making him unable to speak. After he was transfered to the new ward they wanted to run tests that had already been run previous week on him on Broward Hospital. We kept telling the nurse who called us up this and told them to retrieve his medical records from Broward Hospital. She kept telling us it was impossible and ended up telling us "Go get the files yourself" and then promptly hung up on us (the hospital is now on lockdown with no visitors so we are at the mercy of a phone to talk to staff at the hospital and she just hung up mid-conversation!!). We called Broward Hospital who told us that retrieving a patients file is a STANDARD PROCEDURE WHICH COULD EASILY BE DONE BY SENDING A FAX, yet the nurse wanted us to drive to Ft. Lauderdale to do this. Incompetence, laziness and unprofessional overall. The staff have refused to give out the name of the nurse who hung up on us. After having talked to my father-in-law over the phone there was another incident of him laying in hos own feces for hours before getting any help. We are now over one week in, and my father-in-law is now in rehab at the hospital. We have tried getting a doctor to call us up, which has not happened. We've tried getting connected to a doctor but ended up talking to some one in the cleaning staff named Joey!? We have tried talking to a patient care manager who kept talking over us and then just hung up.on us. So this is the second time a staff member of Mount Sinai hangs up on us rudely while trying to get information regarding what is happening with my father-in-law. EDIT: After having been in touch with the patient relations department a doctor called us up and handled it very professionally.

I don't know the doctor as such, but part of the staff that attends him is not very professional. My parents were there last week and the girl who attended them raised her voice to my mom when she asked her to let her in with my dad. They did not understand and when my father told them that they did not speak English, the lady with a lot of attitude raised her shoulders as a sign that she did not care and looked at them badly. Some incidents happened successively to the point that my parents could not stand the unpleasant situation and out of shame they left without seeing the doctor. What a shame that these things happen and what a shame that many health professionals do not know how to choose their assistants. I understand that everyone has a bad day, but it's not the patient's fault. I just hope that doctor acts with that person otherwise he is going to lose more than one patient. I am referring to the office of Dr. Michael T. Ayad at Ste 2245.

I am a regular patient here. Some of the doctors are awesome, some not so awesome. Their billing department is horrible, but I put up with it because the quality of care is so good. I have had very few bad experiences here. I have a high level of frustration getting an actual human on the phone in their centralized reservations office. The worst thing is, their online portal, it simply doesn't function well and breaks often. But if there's something wrong with you and you need great medical care, this is the place to go.

This hospital is said to be the best, and yet when you go in person as a patient, you see how wrong everything is. First of all, I don't even know how to put into words how disgusting and dirty my assigned room was. The bathroom was disgusting, urine from the patient before all over the floor, and not to forget to mention the toilet was even worse. The nurses thankfully were amazing and really nice. Now one of their OBGYN doctors that I don't even have her name because of how unprofessional she was, was the nasties most rude person of all in this hospital which seriously disgusted me her way of treating me as a patient, knowing I am pregnant her attitude and way of expressing herself was absurd. I was more than 24 hours without eating anything, and she blew out of proportion to the simple fact that I had taken two bites of sandwich to be able to rest and gain a little bit of energy. Knowing I suffer from emotional seizures, she went and altered my emotions over two bites of a darn sandwich. Now if yall ever see yourself in a situation like the one I was in, I suggest you to file a complaint against the hospital and who ever doctor makes your life hell, as we all patients have our rights. If I could give a 0 to this hospital i would. I feel sorry for the nice hearted nurses in here

I had to stay at Mount Sinai for a few days, accompanying an elderly relative who needed heart surgery. The staff and nurses were very professional and helpful. My relative has a mental condition that makes things extra complicated, but the nurses had great patience dealing with her special needs. The hospital also has a nice cafeteria for the staff and visitors.

My Mom Rosa has been in the hospital since SUNDAY afternoon. They have been slow on bathing /getting her dressed and delaying her from getting discharged. They told her Thurs 1/27, today morning of being discharged and still waiting .Please let her go home already! I do have to say that the FOOD has been horrible for her! Its UNREAL that the aide comes into her ROOM and My mom is thinking that she is getting help with bathing/getting dressed and then the aide leaves the room. The excuse the aide says I am a bit BUSY and you have not been discharged yet. Please ITS ALMOST 1PM you don't have my Mom cleaned up? Not happy! The Bathing and getting dressed in my opinion should be done in the morning hours!

Hmmmmm This review really is for the behavioral health department, which I see is quite uniform all around in US hospitals. If you even mention that you need help BY SPEAKING TO SOMEONE, not getting detained against your will for monetary purposes, you don't get that wish. My family member wanted someone to speak to.....SOMEONE TO SPEAK TO, not someone to jail him for 72hrs to give him the information he can get in 4hrs about how he was feeling. Instead, they force him to stay. He even EXPLICITLY stated that "I really want someone to just speak to, and if you guys force me to stay here then I just won't ask for help". Imagine not LISTENING to the patient's request and exacerbating the HELPLESSNESS feeling by INVALIDATING how a patient feels about the treatment they want to FEEL BETTER?! It's insane how the patient's best interest was really not taken into account here, he already felt trapped internally, and now externally (physically) he feels more trapped. Not sure the great it will do for his mental health. I'm disappointed this one time with mount sinai as usually, they are just amazing in other departments... the mental health part... hmmm. The nose dive from 4.5 stars to 3.8 may be very telling of the changes that have occurred in this hospital. I hope things do get better. Will update this review in regards to the help of lack there off this gave to my family member to feel better and heard.

I like to personally thank my ER Nurse Nick who attended me in Mount Sinai Miami Beach 6/08/22. He made me feel heard and understood about what I was feeling in my body. He also comforted my husband and I from what we were sure was going to be emergency surgery on my appendix. Luckily, it was not the case but because of him I felt safe and calm about my situation. The doctors was kind and very straight forward as well. I highly recommend to friends and family. I was seen immediately, constantly checked up on and made aware of possible options/outcomes/decisions regularly by my doctors both the ER doctor and surgeon. Again, thank you, Nurse Nick!

Went to emergency room, I was treated with respect by all the staff including the greeter at the front desk. The visit took about 4 hours with the amount of tests they did on me. The er techs, er nurses, er doctors, radiology, ultrasound, and transporters were very kind. I left the ER with a clear plan to get continued care and was explained what to do at time of discharge.

We just left the hospital after our daughter had an emergency appendectomy. The service and patient experience were absolutely superb. Everyone we met, from the front desk in the emergency department to security to nursing to transport, was in warm and supportive. Our surgeon, Dr. Unger, was terrific as were the anesthesiologists, surgery residents, and OR team. So appreciate the staff and services at Mount Sinai!

Had a serious health concern. Called and asked for my doctor to call me. Left messages to call me for three days and finally someone called, but god forbid it would be my doctor.Had to meditate myself. Finally Some coordinator called, agreed with my self medicating plan and asked me to call him after the weekend. I called Monday, left a voicemail. Nobody called me back. Called on Tuesday and left a message with the life person and nobody called me back. On Wednesday had to call patient advocate and all I got is an appointment with some random doctor. My doctor was unreachable. Apparently there are no emergency appointments for the existing patients. I am not sure that my doctor even knows that I called. Itā€™s outrageous that a patient canā€™t speak to their doctor or a doctor period. My fate is being decided by a coordinator who doesnā€™t even call you back. No last name, no extension number and try to find a person by the first name in a huge department. Also was not able to find a telephone number for administrative offices.

I had the most amazing, caring, and professional experience with Dr. Zadeh. I had an exceptional recovery. He is super talented professional, was very clear and patient, explaining me all the surgery steps and what to expect, which gave me enormous confidence. His team is also the most amazing professionals ever. Super recommend Dr. Zadeh and Mount Sinai which is always my go-to-place for health issues.

The best hospital in south Florida doesnā€™t offer food for its patients anymore. They donā€™t allow patients to buy their own food in the hospital neither. Somehow patients are contaminated and hospital staff are not. Sad picture to see people with traumas doing self checkout only to go out to have proper dinner. They have forgotten that their patients are still alive and real food is the most essential part of their wellbeing, not antibiotics combined with dry micro sandwiches. During the entire day yesterday I was assured I will get food at the end but nothing came. I was offered crackers and mini juice. Seriously? What happened to us ? How did we come to this ?

Thank God I wasn't in the position of being a patient. I had never witnessed such poor, unethical, unhelpful, and above all, inefficient care. I had to witness people arriving in need of a wheelchair and immediate assistance, and their first thought was to ask not for the patient's name, but for their home address to send the bill. When they haven't even taken the time to help the patient? Unbelievable! I feel that the first thing an emergency room should have is integrity, respect for life, and professionalism. And on top of all this, the employees discuss the case.

My husband was not feeling well so I took him to the emergency room around 12:30am on Thursday, I really thought Mount Sinai was #1 but this was our worst experience! My husband was in so much pain and had to wait 4 hours just to be seen and there was barely anyone there! The nurse at the reception was super rude, tried to send us home twice telling him that's ok that he is not able to drink water or eat for more than 24 hours and to take tylenol. She kept arguing with customers and was straight up saying "go to another hospital if you can't wait", we saw many people walking out. An old lady that was waiting was telling her how much in pain she was and the nurse at the front said nothing, the lady went to the rest room and passed out screaming for help and the nurse was laughing with the security guard! The lady came out 45 min covered in blood and nobody moved an inch. What a crazy experience that was at the front, I definitely didn't expect this kind of treatment at Mount Sinai but my husband needed to be seen by a doctor so we had to deal with it.

The service is a joke. You have 10 people seeing you including the house keeper asking you what is the level of the pain from 1 to 10. They donā€™t communicate each other. Bunch of Parrots ! I have been waiting 36 hours waiting for a Ecography. I had to stay one night in a small bed. I could not sleep since Iā€™m 6 Ft 2. White night. Then they asked me to stay another night in the basement with people screening all the time because they are busy. No food no water no shower no brushing teeth. They treat you like garbage even with an insurance. I had to leave. Itā€™s a joke. And they ll charge me 5k for to 10k. I hate this system ! They are just care to make more money. They donā€™t care about people. They are just parrots šŸ¦œ

I always have a great experience when I go to Dr. Fernandez-llanioā€™s office. The young lady in the front desk Ana is super efficient and very polite. She always makes the check-in/out process very easy and has whatever documents I need ready when itā€™s time for me to leave. She even helps me schedule any upcoming appointments on the spot. I especially had a very good experience with the nurse who drew my blood Herbert. I have very challenging veins and always get nervous when my blood has to be drawn because they usually have to stick me multiple times. Herbert reassured me he would not stick me multiple times and took his time looking for my vein. He was able to draw my blood on the first try and surprisingly it didnā€™t even hurt.

I was very happy with my Surgeon, Dr Jonathan Zadeh. He is very friendly and displayed compassionate professionalism in explaining my procedure, listening and acknowledging my views with reference to alternative non-blood management should an unexpected situation arise during the surgery. All things turned out well and I am very happy overall with the care I received at Mt Sinai Medical Center.

Excellent hospital. My 85-year-old mother was hospitalized for 10 days last July and the entire team, doctors, nurses, infection team, etc. they were very professional. There was communication between everyone and they kept me constantly informed of all my mother's processes and all the steps to follow. Very grateful to them with the treatment towards my mother and me. Only one nurse was rude and I gave the complaints from her in the same hospital.

My dad has been in and out of the hospital for the past 6 months and we have had a very good experience overall. Today I want to take the time to thank Ms. Lully Ordonez, for going above and beyond to make sure my needs were met in the hospital cafeteria. She is definitely an asset to the Mount Sinai team!!!

overall bad experience. Should have read the reviews before I went there. Had experience with several providers (GI, Neurology, Cardio, Pulmonology). Some doctors are really good but it won't help you because you can't access them Wait times can be weeks or even months radiology is a bunch of amateurs (results are bad and they blame the patient) Communication with the patient and labs is bad (had to call 4x to get the order sent to quest - at the end had to print it and bring it myself) Lost a lot of time in this hospital without any results I recommend U-health or just providers outside Mt Sinai

My aunt was at mount sinai recently, and while she did get the treatment she needed, it was shocking to see how much time the doctors take to get to the room, they have a nurse check up on you from time to time but the wait to see the actual doctor was lengthy. Other than that everything was great.

This hospital needs to get better with ileus...pseudobstruction...obstruction diagnosis. Seriously, if I cannot drink contrast ...your people should be putting it through the vein. I came to the Er because I have a life threatening complaint. And your sorry is not good enough when your negligence and Incompetence causes death. Oh thankyou...no thank you! Go to a place that cares...it surely is not here. In Boston....the medical people actually work and save lives. You might want to get staff with more desire to solve patients complaints instead of dismissing them. I had this same obstruction in my distal intestine in 2004. The team in Boston told my mom it was serious...then removed the blockage and put me on TPN. This should have happened In. Your hospital.

Dr. Zadeh was wonderful! His down to earth demeanor, made me feel instantly comfortable and put me at ease. He was informative and had outstanding bedside manner. I couldnā€™t have asked for a better dr. to remove my appendix. Not once did I feel anxious or worried, truly felt like I was in great hands.

This was by far the best hospital I've ever visited! I've never been to a hospital where almost all the staff were super nice and compassionate. The reason for the three stars was due to two nurses that were not so nice. My first encounter was in the ED on April 27, 2023. I came in due to minor complications after surgery. My first two nurses were very nice and patient. The last nurse named Jessica, RN who works on night shift was rushing to take my IV out, which caused a lot of pain to my arm due how she was lifting up on the IV and attempting to take it out that way until I told her it was hurting. Before I was discharged, I asked this same nurse, Jessica if I could take the blanket with me to the waiting area because I was cold, she told me this wasn't allowed and continued the discharge process. I have 16 years of medical experience and I would have never denied a patient of a blanket. While at the hospital, I found out my hemoglobin had dropped due to my surgery, which had a lot to do with me being cold. Coming from a nurse as well as a dual board certified nurse practitioner, Jessica, please learn to have some compassion for your patients going forward! Second incident was on April 28, 2023. I arrived to the ED with a friend that was having complications after a surgery as well. After my surgery, it was difficult for me to walk long distance without becoming exhausted or short of breath. My friend was getting transferred to another floor to get admitted. I asked nurse Jose, RN on dayshift if I could get wheelchair assistance. Jose said to me, "we can only provide wheelchair services to our patients." I responded back with, "so how would you handle this situation if I was handicap?" Jose did not respond. I would like Jose to know that his response was mean and shows that he does not have any compassion for people. I would like to give a special thanks to the transporter Ronnie. Ronnie made sure that he didn't leave me until someone came with a wheelchair. I would also like to personally thank Allen, the transporter who transported me to my destination. Both guys were very nice and I appreciate that! I would also like to thank all of the staff that greeted me when I walked in the front of the ER on both days.

I think Iā€™m being really generous by giving 4-stars for this review. Iā€™ve had a very positive experience here for a prior surgery. However regarding a more recent emergency I had I would give 1 star if I could, but that wouldnā€™t be fair to all the staff that attended to me. Nurse Noemi, Jessica, RO, Julian and Julia were by far should be the ones leading the entire ICU and Step-Down Units. They were so patient, understanding and most of all caring to the pain I was in. On the other hand, in ICU, there was only 1 nurse and 1 doctor that who made this experience the worst and probably a traumatic experience for me. For that reason, Iā€™ll most likely be seeking legal counsel for patient neglect.

I took my friend to the ER this past Monday 11/28/2022 and I have to say the night shift staff was outstanding! When we arrived the security guard who kindly gave me the wheelchair to enter at ER. EVERYONE was kind, enphatetic, professionaland attentive to my friend ! I want to thank in a special way Yolanda (triage Nurse) , Claudia (nursing assistant), Suzanne (Head Nurse), Dr. Pablo and the supervisor as well as the nursing assistant who was in the triage. I cannot leave the administrative staff behind, they were kind and attentive! Thank you all!!

This hospital is absolutely disgusting. My dad stayed here for 3 days and the assistance is terrible, no lights in the rooms, nurses are rude, only one good nurse named Rachel on the 8th floor treated my dad well. To take out blood my dad had to put the flashlight on the phone for her to get the vein really ridiculous. Whenever he would call on the emergency button itā€™s like he was unheard and they ignored it. The hospital looks old and under reconstruction and just overall nasty and not welcoming. The ladies at the front to register people in is annoying and has no manners whatsoever. Work better, treat patients better, and if you hate working here STOP coming and work on your attitude. All of them are weirdos. The beds are hard, the bathrooms are nasty. In general everything just sucks. DO BETTER. ITS AMERICA
