I've heard good things about China Boy and happened to be in the area. I know their rice rolls are supposed to be well known, so I had fried pork dumplings, shrimp rice rolls, beef chow foon, and then threw in an order of shrimp dumplings. Pork dumplings, shrimp rice rolls, and chow fun were great. The pork dumplings were actually deep fried, but a good mix of chewy and crispy. The shrimp rice rolls were really tender and the flavor alone was good, but with the sauce it was perfect. The chow foon had a really nice wok hei to it, super smoky. The shrimp dumplings were the only letdown. They seemed to be like some inexpensive, frozen "shrimp" dumplings from the store. Overall I'd go back, but skip the shrimp dumplings.

This is my 2nd time here at China Boy. When I first went the fired rice was amazing. 5 years later I go again and it’s okay. The place is small hole in the wall place. Don’t get me wrong the food is still good, this place is for people who are on the go who just want to order for carry out. Not much place for you to sit. Only one staff in the front sometimes who is away and you kinda have to wait for them to come back. I don’t think it is her fault but the owner to make sure enough staff is present. I would say the improvements China Boy should do is, make sure the place is cleaned a lot better. It shouldn’t be hard for a small area to be cleaned so people can sit. I also think the area where the menu is on the wall as in behind the counter should be cleaned and redone. This place works for people who are on the go and wants there food to go.

Nice place for a quick breakfast. They open early so you can get congee, rice rolls and bao freshly made to order. Note: this restaurant is takeout only but you can call in or order online in advance for quick and easy pickup. Two orders of rice rolls (shrimp, fried dough) was approximately $11 including tax.

Ordered pan fried pork dumpling, I'd say it's 8/10. This place only accept cash and take out. The cashier lady was nice though

This is the spot for on the go chinese appetizers and Chinese staples. I would give this place a 4.5 out of 5 if I could. You can get a variety of dim sum and a variety of noodle dishes here. I got the pork belly bao bun which was insanely good. The sauce is EVERYTHING. I wish it was stuffed with more meat but I would get it again. Price was decent! An order of the bao buns comes with 2 for 6.95. Everything is just around $10 or less. Service is fast and i have no complaints about that. This is not a sit down place. You go in and place your order at the door. Don’t feel discouraged ordering since the order window is right at the entryway. Order and you won’t regret it. ** CASH ONLY HERE ** ** CLOSED ON TUESDAYS **

Pretty good rice noodle. Unfortunately now it’s take out only. Food taste good and prices are reasonable.

I'm from NYC and China Boy was out of this world good. Everything was delicious, I wish I could give them a higher rating. Their concise menu reflects the care in which they make their dishes. I will go out of my way to pickup food whenever I can. 10/10 don't miss out!

Authentic beef noodle soup! I feel like coming back to China right after my first sip of the broth. Highly recommend my Chinese friends go try it. Big portion and nice price, cash only tho and no dine-in option.

I LOVE this place! It reminds me of my childhood in NYC Chinatown. The service is fast and efficient, and the location is convenient to Gallery Place! The beef rice noodle crepe and the dried shrimp rice noodle crepe are the freshest I’ve ever had because they are always made to order. An order of each will cost you just under $7, which is amazing for a lunch in DC.

So delicious! They gave me something I didn't order (understandable since I changed my mind while placing the order) but I loved it anyway haha. Definitely more than worth the minor inconvenience of taking out cash at CVS.

Anything with their homemade wide rice noodles here is a star, chow foon and crepes are particular standouts. I've had many other delicious things too, most recently the large steamed chicken bun. Great texture and flavor. I've had much of their menu and of what I have had, I probably only have two gripes. 1. Fish balls - it's a pork center with a fish paste exterior. It's not bad, per say, but I was expecting a super bouncy fish ball and it was kind of dense and a bit fishy, but not in a good way. Not the best fish ball I've ever had. 2. Anything with brisket - I love brisket, I love their chow foon. I thought it was a can't miss but their brisket cuts have a lot of undesirable components attached --- specifically fat (not the delicious melt away kind, but the hard, chewy, unpalatable kind) and sinew --- and not a ton of meat. It may have been 50/50 by volume. Despite my better judgement, I tried again with the brisket and rice noodle soup and, sadly, the outcome was the same. Initially I thought it might have been beef tendon and was excited for the unexpected addition but the first bite proved this was not the case. I have included a picture of the bottom of the bowl with all the nasty bits. Hopefully they will get better at trimming their brisket but, until then, I'll probably stick with pork or other cuts of beef.

This unassuming place accepts only cash and is take out only! The selection is varied, authentic, and delicious! The trip to get the food was definitely well worth it! For three adults, we had: *two orders of the dried shrimp rice noodle crepes (a bit bland, but the sweet soy sauce was a fine complement), *two orders of the wonton with egg noodle soup (soup was probably made from the ox tail bones, not from powder or artificial flavoring) *one order of the beef chow fun (even though we asked for it with black beans, they must have forgotten it), still delicious! As long as you have cash, and a place to sit (no dining in!), this is the place for you!

I recently dined here and the flavors were exquisite, and the textures perfectly balanced. The cozy ambiance added to the overall delightful dining experience. Highly recommend!

Good and reasonably priced dimsum and noodle place. Decent bang for the buck the only downside being that it is currently take out only.

2 of 3 dishes were wrong. Seems like they just gave me whatever was leftover or somebody else didn't pickup. The couple ahead of me also received the wrong order. Ordered chicken for all 3 dishes. Seafood in 2 of 3. Very bad for anyone allergic. Food wasn't good. 0 Stars

They’re in Business for a long long time. High Standard for quality fresh rice noodles . My favorite is the Stirfry beef rice noodles. Right now they only dose care out. DC area has many different places to order Chinese food. But we always get our from there.

I thought this would be better than it was. I ordered the pork buns, the shrimp shu mai, the fried pork gyoza, and the spicy garlic wings. The pork buns were pretty good but hardly filled. The shu mai weren’t super flavored. The pork gyoza was also good, good flavor and crispy. My surprisingly favorite item was the spicy chicken wings. Although they were hardly spicy or garlic, they were incredibly crispy, juicy, and massive! I will order again to get the noodles but I wanted to try some of the dim sum items and I probably will go somewhere else for that. I’d come back though!

As a long time and regular China Boy client, I am disappointed to have to leave a negative review. I ordered a number of dishes including my favorite, the beef brisket noodle soup. This bad review is mostly because of the beef in the soup. The standards have really dropped from the type of beef brisket they used to serve a number of years ago. This time I had 2 pieces of beef and the rest were ligaments and fat pieces. For the price of the soup, that is total deception. I am so disappointed and I see there is someone else who has posted a similar review about the beef brisket noodle soup. My hope is the restaurant sees these reviews and changes this bad practice. I have included a picture.

I was excited going to China Boy for some authentic Chinese food. I ordered shrimp crepe, shrimp shu mai and wonton noodle soup. I was overly disappointed with all the dishes. The shrimp shu mai tasted more like steam pork dumpling. I can hardly taste the shrimp. I thought shrimp crepe wouldn’t disappoint me since I had ordered this before. But No, not this time. The crepe was thick and shrimp tasted bland. It had no flavor what so ever. It tasted like plain flour and chewy shrimp. The wonton noodle soup wasn’t any better either. Other than the noodle was nice and thin, the soup taste and smell like chicken pho. The wontons were small and again taste like pork with no shrimp in it. Base on my experience, I do not recommend this place for anyone who’s looking for an authentic Chinese food experience.

I ordered the beef chow foon (stir fried rice noodles). I was lookong forward to the food because this restaurant is in China Town. The noodles were terrible. They wer oily and tasteless. I took a few bites and threw the rest away. I had asked the woman taking orders if there was MSG in the dish and she said they couldn't control what was in the sauces they use, so in other words, yes, there is MSG (monosodium glutamate) in the dishes.

Definitely affordable and there’s something for everyone on the menu. We didn’t expect there to be no seating so expect it to be a takeout spot. Cash only!
