Amazing hiker hostel! Has everything a hiker could and would need. Jeff is so kind and has made the place so cozy. One of my favorites so far.

I was having trouble getting shuttle from Albany NY airport to my start point to finish the Long Trail, someone suggested i contact Jeff Taussig at the Green Mountain Hostel. I did, he set me up with shuttle to the hostel, then one to my section starting point. Both driver's(Rob and Dusty) were very social and friendly. The hostel is very clean, organized, with many(most?) of the amenities that hiker's need, want(even Ben & Jerry ice cream in the freezer, $1!). To top it off, he texted me that I left my good Columbia hiking shirt hanging on the closet door when I left. He put it in a plastic bag and pinned it to the AT sign at the Hwy 11 crossing 5 days later for me to pick up when I crossed there. Thanks Jeff!, I wore it on the plane going home.

My husband and I stayed here last week during our AT section hike and had a wonderful stay. Duffy and KC were our hosts at the time and helped us with all our needs while being so nice and accommodating. The hostel is very clean and contains everything a hiker needs. One of the top hostels on the trail!

Fantastic! Sparkling clean, very homey (well if your home is Sparkling clean). Amenities for hikers include laundry, shuttle to the trail and to town, and a $1 pint of Ben and Jerry's. Wish I had spent a zero here.

Jeff was very accommodating for our stay including complimentary washer/dryer and “make your own” breakfast. No partying and restful stop on the trail.

Stayed here when i hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2019. Great place to stay. Owner was great, even hung an Irish flag outside for me. Highly recommended.

This hostel is superb! I think it should get a 5 star rating in the Michelin guide. The facility and the service is as good as it gets.

Jeff is very nice and efficient. Great stay for the money. My 35 dollars got me a clean bed, a load of laundry, breakfast, a pint of Ben and Jerry's, and a ride from Manchester and to the AT/LT trailhead.

One of the best, if not the best, hostel on the AT. I was told about this place in VA just after I got out of the SNP on my NOBO thru hike. made a point to stop in and I was impressed. My other 2 favorite hostels were Three Springs Hostel and White Mountains Hostel. Im going to definitely stay here on my long trail thru this fall.

Great little respite for the Appalachian and Long Trail hikers on their journey, with excellent value for the price you pay. The staff/owners absolutely respect the hikers' autonomy. They pick you up from the trail and they leave immediately after showing you around the building where you are housed with the other hikers. You won't see them again until morning has come and it's time to leave for the trailhead. Everything is clean and thoughtfully organized, from the dorms to the kitchen, and even the decor invites performance on the trail. Really a great place to refuel and replenish your spirits before you switch gears to attack Vermont's verdant slopes (they even flew the flag of my home province of Québec!)

Wonderful service and hospitality and accommodating for dogs! We stayed here during our thru-hike of the Long Trail and the place was a hiker haven. Would recommend and come back for sure!
