I've had reason to visit several VA Hospitals over the past 40 years, and will insist the care at Togus is head and shoulders above any other I've visited. The eye clinic here provides such a high level of care that I'd NEVER consider going elsewhere. I've also been more than satisfied with the care of the gastroenterology unit and the day surgery clinic. An added benefit is the norm is I'm seen at my scheduled appointment time or within a very few minutes of the time. I thoroughly enjoy having my healthcare delivered at Togus!!!

I have been seen at Togus VA medical center for same day surgery, primary care and several Emergency room visits. The staff here always seem positive & willing to help you. I had to go to the Emergency room 3 different times while diagnosing an illness & the 2nd time in the ER doc remembered who I was & my chief complaint, & knowing I was coming back in, had a room set aside for me as soon as I showed up. The mental health care here is great & the really do seem like they care about the veterans they are serving. I've read several comments on how they never answer the phones, which is somewhat true, but if you leave them a message, they call you back promptly. They are very understaffed which I'm sure is part of the reason they can't answer the phones all the time. Leave them a message, they'll call you back. You'll be glad that you did.

I have never had a complaint about the care I get at Togus. From my PCP to the nurses to the folks at the front desk, everyone cares and want to help. These are hard working folks who make the care we get as veterans possible, and I think the care they give is easily equal to the care we would receive at any other hospital.

THE place for Vets. From the well-kept Vet cemetery and the Fisher House to the excellent medical care. Their are many Vet accessible amenities such as, a theater, gym, heated swimming pool, Barber shop, a Star Bucks, The Patriot Cafe where the food is way better than the hospital food elsewhere. The staff is professional, friendly, and any of the staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. This gorgeous campus goes above and beyond for the Vets, and family members. Im so glad Togus VA is caring for my Dad. VISN 1 is the Best network I have ever seen. The hallways feel more like a museum than a hospital. The environment is full of positive energy.

Staff is great, facilities seem to be getting old. Also quite a drive from where most of the people in the state live.

As a new Maine resident, I made my first foray into Togus to obtain assistance in several areas. I called one day, left a message, and someone got back to me within a day. Within one more day I had an appointment and each person I met with was incredibly helpful, professional, and caring. Maine residents should be proud of this resource for our veterans!

Waited 3 weeks just to schedule an appointment to speak to someone and called 10 times they are completely lazy and useless and overpaid. If you are a veteran reading this realize they are worthless. But do what you gotta do.

Couldn’t have been more friendly. The service was great. The building and office were very clean. The signs and buildings were easy to find. Parking lots and parking were the problem. Not enough 🤷🏻‍♂️. 🇺🇸🇺🇸

9t would be nice if they returned calls i know everyone is busy but so am i and if i return a call it is because i need information.

I was admitted to the Hospital in Togus a couple of months back and staff is respectful and hard working. As a point of juxtaposition, a few years back I was admitted to the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor, and my experience was literally a nightmare of abuse, threats, and misconduct by everyone who worked there from MD's and Staff who were vicious, rude, and entirely disrespectful. I was very pleased with the care I received at Togus but 'still' carry scars, and distrust of the system based on the issues I raised above at another VA system

To the staff at Togus VA Hospice- the doctors,nurses and aides( especially Zoe), my family thanks you eternally for taking such good care of our beloved father,Raymond Perkins,during his brief stay and demise.We will never forget you!!❤️

Unacceptable unprofessional assistance trying to get heart care for two years ..one would conclude no respect given none deserved..impossible to deal with unprofessional system.. good riddance.. all except jessica..the rest leave me the hell alone
