Kristin ground east nurse and whole department needs to be redone. Horrible experience with Kristin twice now and Dr's are not correct on information in files from this department. I think some need to retire or be fired. Very disgusting knowing these are our veterans and we owe them their lives not people paychecks. I will be reaching out to people about this atmosphere. NH hospital offers more help to suicidal veterans and have help and activities for the patients. Bless our veterans and their families.

They literally never call you back! My husband has called numerous times and has left messages for his providers. I have never in my life seen such a thing. No one answers the phone ever on the first try. Ever! It is so frustrating that they do this to our veterans! Answer calls, return messages in a timely manner! Why does someone have to call you over and over without a return call???

I can only express my disappointment Carey Russ has lied to gain a charge against me. I have no malicious intentions but Carey Russ has set in motion a vicious complaint to hurt me. I had been instructed that Carey Russ was the only person that could assign me a Primary Care Physician so I called her many many times left messages she never cared to return a call nor did she care that I had just discovered the pain in my tooth was resultant an odd event where I was ordered to the dental clinic and forced to allow a man to drill on my tooth no xrays were taken no reason for him to drill on my tooth there was nothing wrong with the tooth I have never had a cavity, he put what he called a temporary filling. The military tooth assailant cracked my tooth. I have endured many years of severe pain in that tooth pain radiated throughout my jaw for 30 years I kept complaining the VAMC kept saying no. I found out after over $400. in dental bills the tooth is still abscess and the pain I have had all these years is from the tooth being abscess. The VAMC has grossly neglected my medical need for this tooth and failed to address me to inform me that my tooth is abscess. I expressed my concern for my pain prior to the April dental team I paid. VAMC physician Dr. Stanley whom down played my pain and dismissed the importance of the severe pain since 2019 spent most of his care of me proving the validity of false diagnosis instead of my health needs. In total I have suffered from pain of an abscess tooth for 30 miserable years. Not only has the VAMC hospital antagonized me but I guess to throw off any person from feeling compassionate to my misery the VAMC has defamed my character and labeled me to remove me from having access to Community Care. The pain is really intense and absolutely horrible to live with; still, I am suffering and have been witness to a conversation between an AOD from out of state calling WRJVAMC AOD the conversation was, AOD proposed question "Why are you denying her medical care?" answer WRJVAMC AOD, "I know who you are talking about, she has a flag in her record" AOD proposed question, "But why are you denying her medical care?" answer WRJVAMC AOD, "Because she has has a national flag in her record." This leads me to believe retaliation is what has been more the contribution than compassionate medical care.

This is seriously the worst hospital I have ever dealt with, including military, VA, and civilian. The staff are so incompetent you'd think you were dealing with the TSA with such low caliber employees. They communicate worse than a blind, deaf mute with no arms or legs, get defensive and evasive when you try and escalate, and are just generally all around not good. If you can avoid it, do not go here.

If I could give 0 starts I would. As an organization that receives billions of tax-funded money per year they're just like the military: poorly run but always want a pat on the back. I called for information for labs and prior to this called for information where I left messages. Called multiple times and received no return call ever. When labs were done the brilliant lab tech can't tell me if they're ready or not. These are my results I'm requesting. I asked to be forwarded to her supervisor or the ombudsman and as usual it's unlimited ringing. No one seems to know anything or even where to forward someone to the proper department either. These are employees who receive healthcare, PTO/vacation time and other perks of being federal employees and they seem to do the bare minimum especially at this facility.

I love the WRJ VAMC!!! They take great care of my 82 year old father (Army) and my 55 year old brother (Navy). They have wonderful staff who care and its also a great place to work, I have been the ABO Licensed Optician in the Optometry department since June 2021 and I am there to stay!!!

This is a difficult time for our family, my father is a veteran and has health problems, my mother and I have been doing our best to accompany and help him with the hospital visits and treatment he needs, my family has been observing the care that is given to my father and we were disappointed with the decision of Dr Marybeth Durkin of sending my father home when he was in agonizing pain, I brought him back when he could not bare the pain anymore and this time he was admitted to stay there in the hospital and get the care he needed and tests were done, it was discovered the type of health problem he had, my family is very grateful to Doctor Jason Eltman and the emergency department staff, he displayed great communication with us and showed empathy. I personally think that if health care improves is because of people that have passion for their job, have heart of a human being like Doctor Jason Eltman.

Terrible staff, terrible follow up, nobody you actually need is on site or ever available. This is the worst VA hospital on the east coast.

I used to think that the Vermont VA Healthcare system was amongst the best they had. BUT... I would NEVER suggest using their alcohol or substance abuse program that they offer... and find treatment elsewhere. If you do? They WILL "label" you and it WILL come back to haunt you with any future needs at the VA! The quality of care you receive afterwords will diminish and the "label" they place on you will DEFINITELY hinder any future medical needs you might have need of from them. Then the lack of respect and care you will be shown by the VA Healthcare system, anywhere else youmight need to go around the country, will only cause you many many more problems in their system once they read your file. It is sad that the system that is in place to help others only turns against them after they seek the help originally offered!

I am a patient with full medical coverage at White River Junction VA. They are the nicest people! The could have not have done more for me in the 6 months I have been going there. I am currently rated near 100% disabled by the VA. I go here for all my medical needs. They have support programs that suffer only because veterans fail to sign up for them. I encourage you, the vetean and your family or advocate to seek out the people who can advise you on their wide number of programs for your physical, spiritual and behavioral health well being. These folks are here to serve and help you and they are excellent!

The Oncology surgeons are awesome, the nurses and nurse practitioners, not so much. They don't know left from right. You gotta keep after them, or chaos ensues.

Do everything you can to save this facility and its Emergency Department! It is the only VA facility in the country with such a high average review rate. My primary care and specialty visits have all been the most professional and thorough experiences in the decades of military service and life as a retiree. If you allow the ED to be turned into an urgent care, you will have allowed step one in the total shuttering of this facility at a time when veterans need it most. Anyone with any military experience will tell you as we saw it first hand at Offutt Air Force Base and many other facilities: 1. Turn ED into UC 2. See drop in patients 3. Close UC and specialty clinics 4. Close the entire facility and offload the patients to the local economy where ED visits can hit $10,000 a visit and a Dr. checkup can be hundreds.

I went through a divorce a year ago. Because my ex lied and said I abused her, made me homeless. I didn't know how to advocate and was just trying to manage my severe ptsd, and tbi. The VA literally encouraged pills and then when those were not working, they went for ground east. I was held beyond my will and the VA police threw me to the ground after arrival! I absolutely hate the VA! I also hate the fact that there isn't much advocacy for divorce or veterans becoming homeless! šŸ˜• caregiving program is the worst! I can go on!

I have been here a number of times now to several departments - the staff are always extremely friendly and helpful - the doctors take the time to explain everything thoroughly - if you need medical help this is an excellent place to receive it.

Been going here since 2019 and never had any issues with them. It's better than the one in Austin,TX.
