On fathers day 2022 we went to Leesylvania State Park to go boating. We are a family of 12 people. We had a friend bring the boat in and we were supposed all be at the park at 10 am. Half of us were there at 10 am and we got in the park no problem. We prepared the boat while we waited for the others. As others arrived around 10:15 am we got the call from others in our party that they stopped letting people in. They said the park was full. Those of us that were in the park looked at the half empty parking lot and were in shock. We had already paid to get in and had a boat ready to go for what we thought would be a fun filled family adventure. Not only did they deny the rest of our families entry they were very rude. They did not take our circumstances in to consideration at all!

Visited for the the first time yesterday and instantly saw the appeal. This park has so much to offer from hiking, biking, fishing, boating, camping, and more! There is a beach by the pier, it's dog friendly and there are playgrounds. With multiple trail systems it's easy to not see others if that's what you are looking for. Bathroom facilities as well as a bait shop and restaurant. They charge $10/ vehicle per day or you can get an annual pass for $85/year. You need to obtain that during the weekdays during business hours at the main office when you pull in. Highly recommend for families, couples or just solo time. A great place to have a picnic too or read under the shade of a tree!

My first visit to this state Park was during the week and when the weather was not ideal. It was rainy, some fog, humid, but conditions cleared up after some time. But in the meantime, I found myself in the present of one of the Friends of Leesylvania Park, Mr. Rodney, on the porch of the 'store'. He and I had a very good conversation about many things. Most prominent was about the beautiful park that he volunteers his time and effort, along with others to service and maintain certain standards and plan activities at the park. Mr. Rodney gave me an overall perspective of the park. After rocking in the porch chairs and peering off into the waters of boats returning to the pier after their occupant's adventures, I myself took Mr. Rodney's information to formulate my on opinion of this beautiful location. There are several parking locations, a visitor center, the store was not currently staffed to operate. It has picnic areas, a fishing pier, boat launch, and you will find historical markers. I'm told it's super busy on weekends, but my weekday visits(2), I've had no problem traversing the landscape.

One of my recent favourites, it's just perfect! Trails, boat storage and loading ramps. Has good fishing spots and it's very clean. Love the fact that has may grills available and a huge recreation area.

Enjoyed the place for a bit in the afternoon before it got crowded again. Nice place to bring your dog also. Water was very refreshing and not too cold Mid Aug. Kids also had fun and played with the sand. Had to put 4 stars because unfortunately people left lots of trash behind and when it got crowded some didn’t respect your little space. Didn’t observe much security going around. Lots of boats and that looked really fun!

We were happy to arrive early and have no issues getting into the park and finding parking. Many of the picnic shelter were already being set up for the day, but we were there to walk the trails. We were concerned the trails would be busy since the camping and picnic areas were but we met very few people on either of the trails we walked. The park has a visitor center with nature exhibits and a history of the site. Worth stopping in for a few minutes to get the history of the area. The park feels older than it is. And also has an urban park feel. But was great for a fun outdoor day.

10 bucks to get in is totally worth it. Dozens of trails, great place to walk and picnic. The kids have a playground and lots of people swimming in the water. If you have jet skis or boats, this place is good for you too. All around, a good experience.

I was there for the first time. Nice, quiet, beautiful place to be amid the beautiful nature, the great combination of water, woods, trials and sky. I would recommend to visit alone or with family and friends. Beautifully preserved State Park. Thank you to all volunteers.

Such a beautiful beach, we were the only ones there. The sand is nice and it's a perfect place for my kids to run around. We could spend the entire day here.

It’s a Good place to go with small children as there is a playground. A lot of spaces so you could go and make birthdays , picnic areas, boating, hiking trails and much more. Park does have a $10 to enter , so may want it to be a longer stop.

Beautiful park with lots of trees and shade. BBQs abound and picnic tables of all sizes, first come first served basis. Many people on the Saturday I visited in June 2023. Many children in the water.

This is a park with very beautiful views of the water. It’s great for kids to play in the sand, on a shaded playground, and to learn some history. The visitor center is excellent for kids. There is a nature exploration area and historical artifact area.

It was nice...love the shaded area and my kids enjoyed the mini beach area to get their feet wet..Didnt like that there was a ton of trash and empty beer bottles near the water. And No real bathroom other than a porter potty. Beside, that was still a nice

The park offers trails, pavilions, picnic tables, fishing pier (that crosses VA/MD boundary), history lessons and beautiful sceneries. Photos were taken on 11/06/2022. You can also visit the nearby Neabsco Creek Preserve during the same trip.

This was a nice park a short ways out of the city; the day we went was scorchingly hot; it was clear the park is used by many many people . It was sad to see so much trash but it’s part of a “heavy use” area; looking out on the water was simply beautiful; I wouldn’t get in the water or eat the fish here and was surprised at the number of people in the water. I was glad to see signs posted about the dangers of eating your catch in the waters. Wish we had more time, but it was a nice visit, very nice education center for children or for people interested in learning more about the area - we would go back again but likely in the early early morning or evening

Great state park about 40 minutes from Stafford, VA. Trail Parking is identified clearly. You can also park at picnic area/boat entry points. Multiple scenic views through trails...I started from Potomac Trail to Bushy Point Trail to Powells Creek Trail and looped back, about 5 miles in total, with Fitness options provided in loop. A bald eagle met me on Potomac Trail, so close as it flew away it looked like a dinosaur departing. Beautiful marsh beach with snails and driftwood. Bathrooms are plentiful throughout the park. The gift shop was not open during my visit.

Love this park. Plenty of things to do from fishing, walking, boating, BBQ areas, beach areas. We took the videos while on Lee Woods Trail #novarealtor

Beautiful park, especially the very secluded area where you can launch kayaks. Much of the rest is a bit crowded and noisy, especially in the summer.
