My
first
visit
to
this
state
Park
was
during
the
week
and
when
the
weather
was
not
ideal.
It
was
rainy,
some
fog,
humid,
but
conditions
cleared
up
after
some
time.
But
in
the
meantime,
I
found
myself
in
the
present
of
one
of
the
Friends
of
Leesylvania
Park,
Mr.
Rodney,
on
the
porch
of
the
'store'.
He
and
I
had
a
very
good
conversation
about
many
things.
Most
prominent
was
about
the
beautiful
park
that
he
volunteers
his
time
and
effort,
along
with
others
to
service
and
maintain
certain
standards
and
plan
activities
at
the
park.
Mr.
Rodney
gave
me
an
overall
perspective
of
the
park.
After
rocking
in
the
porch
chairs
and
peering
off
into
the
waters
of
boats
returning
to
the
pier
after
their
occupant's
adventures,
I
myself
took
Mr.
Rodney's
information
to
formulate
my
on
opinion
of
this
beautiful
location.
There
are
several
parking
locations,
a
visitor
center,
the
store
was
not
currently
staffed
to
operate.
It
has
picnic
areas,
a
fishing
pier,
boat
launch,
and
you
will
find
historical
markers.
I'm
told
it's
super
busy
on
weekends,
but
my
weekday
visits(2),
I've
had
no
problem
traversing
the
landscape.
