My boyfriend took me on a truly remarkable and romantic sailboat tour around the San Diego harbor. Sailing in San Diego is so sweet and enjoyable. Captain Phillip was kind and ensured we had snacks and drinks for our little adventure. He knows how to make people feel safe on the water his professionalism was top notch and knew how to sail!  I wish the day wasn’t quite so windy, we got moving quite quickly on the water. I feel sorry for the other lady who complained that there was no wind. Our day was perfect! My boyfriend is a perfect romantic gentleman for taking me on a wonderful harbor tour. Thank you!

We had a perfect sail around the bay. Small and intimate experience to watch the sunset. Captain Philip was relaxed and just easy to be around. Great time!

I booked a sunset sail around the San Diego Bay for my visiting parents, my girlfriend, and myself this past weekend, and had no idea what an unforgettable experience we were in for. Captain Philip was a generous and amusing host, and extremely knowledgeable in the art of sailing. He took us along Coronado Island and past the city skyline/USS Midway. Along the way, we got history about the ship/surrounding area, refreshments, and breathtaking views of the city. We were fortunate enough to see a family (pod?) of dolphins and a feeding sea lion while on our trip. In my two years in San Diego, this experience is definitely one of the best I've had. Highly recommend for anyone looking for fun activities to do around San Diego, and want a view of the city and surrounding area they have yet to see. Thanks again, Captain Philip! Looking forward to the next time we are aboard.

We lucked out and had sunshine and wind, moreover we got to see what a captain with a great boat can do in those conditions! Captain Phillip of the Sail Liberty was an outright pleasure to deal with! I was looking for the best San Diego Harbor Tours and Cap. Phillip delivered. My girlfriend, in fact gets sea sick when on the ocean and Cap. Phillip went out of his way to ensure the conditions of the day would allow us "smooth harbor sailing". The boat was immaculate and the ride was smooth all the way past the Coronado bridge and back. Can't wait to take my family when they come visit! We happened to be the only ones who booked the trip for the day so we received the private tour along with a great history of the area.. This is definitely the only way to see the bay, a truly unique perspective. Our tour was relaxing and we enjoyed beautiful cool San Diego weather. You can tell he loves his job and values his patrons. No need to worry about getting sea sick when Phillip is the captain! My girlfriend and I had an unforgettable experience. Over our 2 week vacation, this San Diego Harbor Tseasickthe crown jewel experience.

What a wonderful experience this was! Captain Philip was so funny and easy going to hang out with, and sailing in the bay at sunset was an incredible thing to do. The whole time I felt totally comfortable, relaxed, and peaceful. The historic sailboat has been beautifully restored and is in pristine condition. I really just recommend this experience wholeheartedly! My whole family loved it, and would absolutely go again.

The Best experience we’ve ever had. The captain Phillip told us about his decades of sailing experience and entertained us with his intimate knowledge of San Diego. We saw some incredible sights like the navy ships, seaport village, downtown, and even Jimmy the Sea Lion! I would absolutely recommend this sail boat tour to anyone and everyone looking for a unique and fun experience.

We absolutely loved our sail boat tour around the harbor. It was the first thing we did when we landed in San Diego for a conference. It was a relaxing and romantic evening and set the tone for our trip. I am curious about sail boats and how they worked. Phillip patiently answered all my questions about sailing. My husband and I agree it was the best experience from get your guide that we’ve ever done.

Captain Philip was amazing! Loved his laid back approach to life. Our shipmates were awesome and fun to hang out with while Captain took us around the harbor. Saw the sea lions, sub station, and the vessel in port at the base. Was an amazing time to spend on our 40th anniversary weekend.

My wife, two adult daughters, son-in-law, and three year old grandson, and I enjoyed the Liberty as a perfect exclamation to our long weekend on Coronado Island and San Diego. Captain Phil is just great - at everything- sailing, conversation, and workmanship on his restoration of this 40 year old classic beauty of a sailboat. It was perfect for our small group of 5 adults and one child. The sunset tour was beautiful! We would do it again in a heartbeat!!!

A world class experience hosted by Captain Phillips. We found the tour to be educational and fun. One of the best purchases we made during our San Diego trip!

We are locals and finally decided to take a trip out at sunset on the bay. I would highly recommend this to anyone. It was beautiful, and Captain Philip was incredibly patient and accommodating even as we were running late. He provided us a wonderful, intimate, evening and definitely loves what he does.

Captain Philip welcome us on board his ship. He restored the boad by himself with a lot love. It was a pleasant discussion about his ship, the Bay Area, the Sunset and how to live in San Diego. This is not only Sailing it is a trip with a Friend. Recommend to go with Philip and his Liberty.

I love visiting San Diego every chance I get. I love the beaches and the coves. Consequently, I discovered a new love! The San Diego Sailboat Tour provided by Captain Phillip and his wonderful little sailboat, the Sail Liberty. I was a bit worried that I would get sea sick yet, the captain insisted that I would not. He made sure the keep the boat constantly moving forward and his sailing skills proved it, as I did not get sea sick at all. In fact, it was smooth sailing the entire time. We got lucky as it was quite windy so we got to experience raw sailing in the harbor. A truly remarkable and exhilarating experience. Before we launched from the dock, the captain offered, snacks and drinks. Who could turn down a beer? I took up that offer in a heartbeat, and since it was a bit cold and windy, I gladly accepted a blanket. During our sailing excursion, I even got to steer the boat while the captain set up the sails and battened down the hatches. That was very fun, I followed the orders from my captain to the ‘T’, evidently, I did a perfect job, because he told me so. :p In any case, if you wish to see the San Diego harbor from a unique and delightful way, I highly suggest booking a trip with the Sail Liberty and embark on a San Diego Harbor Tour as soon as possible.

We had such an amazing sunset harbor tour. Truly one of the highlights of my years in San Diego. Peaceful but exciting, and Captain Phil such a great host and very interesting to see how a gorgeous sailing vessel like Sail Liberty is handled. I am also a person who gets seasick but I had no problems at all during or after our cruise. Smooth sailing all the way. Thanks Sail Liberty Crew and Family!

Don't look anywhere else for a perfect way to see San Diego. We live here and it still was so special. Celebrated my husband's 72nd birthday. Capt Philip makes it look so easy. After a very busy week, it was the best therapy. We might have to do it once a month. The grand children LOVED being below deck. Sun, fresh air and a little wine, we slept like babies last night. Thanks for the perfect evening Capt Philip.

Phillip was our captain and he was amazing! Very professional, yet fun and knowledgeable. It is very apparent he loves to sail, and it makes for a very fun time! He is very very good at what he does and I highly recommend doing a tour with him. We got some amazing pictures and had a great time.

This was the highlight of our San Diego trip! Capt. Phillip is a friendly, easy to get along with, knowledgable, and overall awesome and a gracious host. He provided beers, wine, snacks, and made us feel welcome and cozy on the boat. Communication and booking experience were top notch. I was horrified when I realized that I had booked the wrong day for our cruise on accident, but Jessica followed up with me and was able to move my reservation to the next day so we didn't miss out on the experience. I really appreciated that and highly recommend this sail cruise!

This was the highlight of our trip! It is a beautiful boat and the captain is so incredibly experienced, he has sailed all over in many types of boats. He was informative and fun and also was chill while our family talked and enjoyed the trip. My parents were visiting San Diego for their 50th anniversary so my 3 siblings and I flew in from different parts of the country to surprise them and go on this sailing adventure with them. It was the perfect experience. I highly recommend this to everyone.

The experience of riding around in a fine old sailing vessel on a beautiful Sunday is a very San Diego centric experience! Captain Phil showed us the best places to see long the Embarcadero, Seaport Village, Glorietta Bay, and Harbor Island. The day was wonderful, sunny and beautiful. The bay was like glass and the experience will be one of the best I have ever had day sailing around the bay. Thank you Sail Liberty and Captain Phil!

We loved our adventure sailing the San Diego bay with Captain Phil on Mother’s Day. We’ve been on the big harbor cruises before, but this was a truly unique experience to be remembered for a lifetime. The intimate setting was perfect for our small group and the vintage charm of the historical replica sailboat gave the perfect accent to the experience. Phil’s easy demeanor and willingness to share nautical tidbits and humor made it all the more enjoyable. His ability to engage and entertain children makes it a great option for families. Do yourself a favor and charter this ship, take a bottle of champagne, and enjoy a truly special experience.

We highly recommend booking a chartered sail with Sail Liberty. The staff is super responsive and eager to make your day memorable. The Friendship Sloop is a serious head turner with all the beautiful varnished wood. They offer beer, wine, and snacks while enjoying the amazing views in San Diego Bay. We took the boat under the Coronado Bridge which is impressive to see up close and the sunset photos I caught that night were so amazing. We even had a couple of dolphins swim off to the side of our boat that evening. If you are looking for a high quality, fun, and relaxing way to enjoy an afternoon or evening spend it with Captain Phil on the Sail Liberty. You will not be disappointed!!

We were lucky enough to enjoy an afternoon on the beautiful of Phil. The is one of a kind and getting on it was clear to see this would be a magical sail. He's restored the sail boat to the beautiful original state and the love and care is seen everywhere. Once we got out of the marina, the sails went up and Phil was nice enough to let me skipper for a bit. The sunset was magical and the host the best you can ask for. There are delicious snacks on board along with some good drinks. We learned a lot about the boat which we were curious about and got to enjoy a romantic get away in our backyard. I can't wait to go back and bring my friends and family. Thanks Phil!!

Sailed on August 28, 2022. Truly an amazing way to end my vacation with my husband. Captain Philip was great. Was in touch with us before the sailing to make sure we had all the info we needed. You can tell that he really loves what he does. We encountered great sights on our sail. It is really nice that it is a small group experience. We enjoyed the other guests that were with us very much. Hats off to you Captain!!! Thanks again.

We had a beautiful adventure! My husband and I got to know the other couples as we sailed, and witnessed a beautiful sunset as well as the San Diego skyline at night. Captain Philip was a gracious host with extensive experience. We had never sailed before and I am prone to motion sickness, but didn’t need to worry at all. It was a very smooth, quiet ride.
