Wow, what an amazing experience! We went courtesy of tickets from a friend and ended up getting the annual membership for 5 since we enjoyed it so much and wanted to share the experience with family and friends. Everything was beautiful even during their winter season. We're looking forward to seeing the fountains in action and everything in full bloom when the weather gets nicer. For this time of the year, it was very busy but didn't feel crowded due to size of their grounds. Very rich with history and amenities galore! Lots of food and adult and child beverage choices as well. Very easy to navigate paths and trails for all ages. Excellent signage and maps to navigate your way. The staff were all very friendly and helpful! Highly recommended!

The most exited place I've ever been this year. This Botanical garden with incredible flowers and plants were amazing experience. So many varieties of trees 🌳. So man flowers that I have never seen before. Fountain ⛲️ show also was incredible, lots of good emotions and memories from it. So if you like nature, flowers and plants come and visit. You better come here in the morning 🌄 so not to get burn under the sun. Bring hat and sun's cream to protect yourself. Lots of pictures 📸 from here will be our good memories

Excellent Garden in summer. But winter has its own charm. Longwood does a great job in decorating their gardens and trees with exquisite lighting and water show. We went there during a huge down pour but enjoyed it regardless. Even with all the rain the crowd never stopped. I would highly recommend getting tickets for the Christmas time. The indoor exhibit is amazing.

What a beautiful place! Yes, there's construction going on in one area but it doesn't distract from the whole gardens. Definitely bring your walking shoes and a folding chair. You will walk a lot but it's so worth it. Your chair is for when you sit and watch the fountain show, which is a definite must do. The Idea Garden is beautiful and so were the dahlias that were in bloom. Beauty is everywhere and the benches are placed to sit, rest your feet, and enjoy it all. We hit every area and enjoyed it all. My favorite was the Fountain show and different Lights show that are around the property. My only issue was not enough trash cans. We didn't want to miss anything so we picked up drinks and a snack and kept walking around. Then we were carrying our empty containers for quite a bit before we found a trash can to dispose of it properly. All in all..... a terrific day with beautiful night time shows to end it. Definitely a must see. If close enough, become a member!

Cool to spend a good half day here especially to see the lights at night, I haven't been back here in forever! The water fountain light show was great, they have it on Thursdays through Sundays at night. The Illuminated Fountain Performances start at 9:15 pm and lasted about 30-45 minutes. People put seats out to save a good spot. You can see them if you stand in the back too. I think that actually is a better view and you can see everything. Loved the lollipop lights, those are so cool too (Light: Installations by Bruce Munro). They have a few different locations for these light installations you can check out, it's very easy to get lost in the dark if you don't follow the crowd. Not a lot of lights when you're walking around in the dark so make sure you know where you're headed! There's a hidden waterfall under the fountain if you walk around there. It looks pretty cool with purple lights. Ticket prices are cheaper if you go earlier, click around different times to see if you can get a better deal. Food options are quite limited and the lines are crazy long. Still a good experience overall and highly recommended!

All of the flowers looked great and were well taken care of. There are plenty of paths all over the garden as well as cool fountains. Entering and getting tickets is easy. The only real downside I saw was the no reentry to the park so make sure to bring everything you need. It was a hot day so I took water in and didn't have an issue. There is a restaurant and drink stands are inside.

A very beautiful place to visit. If you do, be sure to dress for the season. Take along lots of water for this time of year because no water fountains are along the paths. They do have wheelchairs (free) and scooters (pay what you think is reasonable) to rent. Everything is worth going to and seeing for picture taking or just want to enjoy nature. The musical fountain (may be calling it wrong) is fascinating to watch. The eating area has several options but be prepared to pay way more than expected. The prices definitely shocked me. The entire place is great for all ages to see.

Beautiful every season of the year. You will not be disappointed. Initially we did a quick trip to visit not necessarily planning to return. However, we enjoyed it so much that we decided to get a year membership. Appreciated that our one time entrance fee that day could be used towards our yearly membership. Quality musician performances are an added bonus when relaxing for a bite to eat and drink at their outdoor restaurant seating.

What a lovely way to spend the afternoon, the theme this year was retro. I have to admit I enjoyed the fire and ice display even more last year. With that said.. My time spent appreciating the beautiful grounds, architecture wonders and attention to detail was outstanding. The gardens were packed with people which is nice to see so many of us all appreciating the lights and the plants. The cafe was a mad house. We were all packed in there like sardines. The cream of mushroom soup is tasty, and the battered french fries so good. The orchid room, and the Elm trees are definitely amongst my favorites. Always clean bathrooms available. Definitely worth the trip to experience what the winter season has to offer.

Longwood Gardens shines as a must-visit holiday spectacle, especially for Christmas. With its expansive grounds featuring dazzling indoor and outdoor light displays, it's a feast for the eyes. The variety of plants, stunning gardens, impressive fountains, and friendly staff make every visit memorable. Christmas at Longwood is unique, showcasing specially decorated rooms, this year with a captivating 50s theme. Though tickets are a bit pricey and need to be bought in advance, the magical experience is absolutely worth it. Perfect for families looking to create unforgettable holiday memories.

Stepped out of my comfort zone for this one and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not the outdoorsy type but this place was definitely nice. In my humble opinion the fun happens at night. That's where it really shines (Pun intended). The field was lite bright and the fountain show was paired with music and a choreographed light show. Unfortunately on our visit a few things were closed due to renovations, but all in all I thought it was a nice outing. WARNING if you aren't aware you will probably be doing a lot of walking. Please please please wear a comfortable shoe.

I was here last night (12/19). Longwood is visually stunning! We were bundled up for the cold weather, so we were able to walk all around this huge property. This is a great place to bring children. They are in absolute awe when viewing the incredible lights! Almost all the paths are paved, so folks in wheelchairs can also enjoy the experience. The staff is ALL pleasant and extremely helpful and accommodating. We had a wonderful experience!

This was my first time visiting and it was so amazing! It was so peaceful. The flowers and plants were so beautiful and well taken care of! We walked around for over two hours, so make sure you wear comfortable shoes. I am definitely looking forward to going back, especially around Christmas time to see the lights! It's a great place to take family photos, wedding photos etc. If you love flowers and plants, it's a must that you visit soon!!

It was my first time visiting the gardens. It was beautiful and huge!! The staff were all very helpful, and it was relatively easy to navigate. It was a lot of walking, but there were benches in the shade in a number of places if anyone needed to rest. There was a group of 3 restaurants near the conservatory. One was a sit-down restaurant with table service, but the menu was very expensive. The other 2 were cafe style, with plentiful outdoor seating. We had pizza from the Beer Garden, which was the least expensive option- about $15 for a small pizza, more personal size. You aren't allowed to bring food in, and you can't leave the gardens and return without buying a new ticket, so this was really the only option. It is expensive to get in to the gardens, but worth visiting. The conservatory and European water garden were my favorites besides the general flower garden walk and fountains.

Quite a beautiful place which offers different themes that reflect the seasons. You need to purchase your tickets online to ensure entrance. Besides the horticultural displays, they also have fountain shows enhanced with music, pathways that meander throughout the property, a beer garden and other offerings. Guys, if you're looking for a place to take your significant other look no further.

Amazing place! The grounds are very well-maintained. Great spot for an outing on a nice day. Just be prepared to walk a lot. There are a few places with stairs and hills, so be prepared for that as well. They have plenty of restrooms around the grounds, a place to get some food, and also a café. I definitely recommend this if you feel like getting out and being active for the day in a beautiful atmosphere.

We had a wonderful visit! You could spend an entire day exploring the grounds or choose shorter loops. We stayed a little over 4 hours. Most of the walking was very easy and can accommodate a stroller easily. We enjoyed a great lunch in the cafe (although pretty pricey), had great interactions with staff, and loved exploring the interior and exterior options! I felt like a large amount of time had shade available which is appreciated.

Beautiful spot.l, there’s so much to see and so many trails. It’s easy to lose a whole day here! Highly recommend the Italian water garden and the fountain shows. The beer garden pizza was ok, probably would be great if it was fresh. Make sure to plan for a lot of time for it, and bring a bottle of water. There’s a lot of water fountains and in summer it can get hot.

We went for our anniversary and it was delightful! Highly recommend going during the week to avoid crowds. If you enjoy water shows then make sure you look up the times for the fountain shows, definitely worth a few minutes to sit back and watch the beautiful display. The Cafe has great selections for vegans/vegetarians, and of course a few gluten-free items. Food items in the Cafe are clearly marked for allergens, but I opted not to have any of the prepared foods and stuck with packaged goods to be safe. Beer, wine, and cocktails are available in and around the cafe. The Cafe offers a nice reprieve from the elements, with indoor seating. Some of the exhibits were either closed or under construction, so be sure to refer to the maps and ask for any guidance as needed, the staff are really helpful.

The customer service here is excellent. Couples and family friendly. I was impressed by the many out-of-this world bathroom facilities large enough for the entire family. At nighttime, the Caribbean-themed fountain spectacle is spectacular (starting at 9:15 pm - 9:45 pm). The beer garden and café is nice with live music outside during summertime. The pizza was pricey for what it is. Be prepared to walk a lot. You can bring a chair. Pace yourself and take lots of photos. Ongoing construction and pricey pizza takes away the fifth star. I would give 4.5 stars and I will revisit this beautiful place. Enjoy! Cheers (09042023)

Amazing botanical gardens. Went during the off season, still fantastic! I can’t wait to go back when everything is in bloom. Great staff, everyone was so friendly and helpful. Great displays inside and out, also a major plus was this was the nicest port a potty I’d ever been inside! As a lover of plants and botanical gardens this was on my bucket list for a while and very happy I went. Also super good food on site, my mom who is gluten free was also able to find a good lunch which is so nice.

Longwood Gardens is always beautiful but especially so at Christmas. I'm so glad we were able to get tickets before the season was over. Be prepared for lots of walking. There are shuttles available for those who can't walk as far. I enjoyed the exercise. Thoroughly enjoyable day for my mother and myself.

My sister surprised me with a visit here a couple weeks ago and the entire area is beautiful. We walked around and visited everything in about 2 hours and then saw the early fountain show which was very cool. The late one is supposed to be much better but we couldn’t stay. They have a very nice dining area that we walked through but didn’t eat at and they also had live music playing when we went. A gorgeous place to visit if you like plants and the outdoors.

This was a beautiful garden and smells amazing. My wife and I had a great time here and very detailed work cutting the grass and trees which looks amazing. There was a show at 11:15am with water which was amazing because we had a really great view as you can see in the pictures attached. There was definitely a lot of walking because it’s a huge garden so be prepared to make sure you have water and dressed for it.

Very nice garden. The fountain shows are worth watching. Perfect for families. Clear signs and instructors throughout so you don't feel lost or anything like that. Even in summer, the surrounding trees make it a lot cooler.

Great outdoor and indoor gardens. The colors and smells of the flowers was intoxicating. Very clean place. The people visiting the gardens were so pleasant. Plenty of paths to walk along with different flowers, trees and fountains. Plenty of fountains! Wonderful experience. Takes a lot of time to trek through all of the paths. Food was pricey but tasted good. Definitely worth the price of admission!

Superb!! Father's Day out with the family couldn't be more perfect. Very lovely pre-summer day, hot sun, low humidity, light breeze!! The water fountain ⛲"dance" , very entertaining and being downwind could get a bit misty from the spray. Indoor garden pricey, delightful. So many plant species and varieties and all the colors of summer, wonderful! Plan to do a lot of walking, come early stay late. Food was a bit pricey. Bring your own. It's a great place to spend with good people, family and or friends. Kudos to the staff, always pleasant!!

The conservatory and outdoor gardens are OUT OF THIS WORLD GORGEOUS!!! I go there and stay for hours sometimes, just thinking pleasant, happy thoughts, comforted by the gentle beauty ALL around me. I call it "flower therapy". It is SUCH a sweet place. Longwood Gardens is a popular spot for many, and for good reason! My wife and I are wedding photographers and we shoot engagements at Longwood often. There is no shortage of fantastic photo spots here, especially as they continue to build onto the gardens and continue to improve the grounds. Not only is it a great location for photos, but it's an excellent family destination or for a fun date day/night. There's a cafe, a sit-down restaurant, and they often hold shows, concerts, and other events for entertainment. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, and there's always more to see! 10/10!

Such a beautiful place. Multiple trips, may be necessary in order to see all of it. The main fountain with its awesome musical section was great! Not sure that during the summer they only have fireworks playing with the music and the main fountain, but something I will look into. I definitely plan on getting membership tickets for the year to experience it fully.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Longwood Gardens, and I must say it was an enchanting experience that left me in awe. From the moment I stepped foot into the meticulously manicured gardens, I was transported into a world of natural beauty and serenity. The diversity and sheer scale of the gardens are truly remarkable. Whether you’re strolling through the stunning Flower Garden Walk, exploring the tranquil beauty of the Italian Water Garden, or marveling at the grandeur of the Conservatory, there is something to captivate every visitor. What struck me the most was the meticulous attention to detail evident in every corner of Longwood Gardens. The vibrant floral displays, intricate sculptures, and meticulously maintained landscapes all showcase the dedication and passion that the staff and gardeners put into their work. Beyond the gardens themselves, Longwood offers a variety of engaging activities and events for visitors of all ages. From educational workshops and garden tours to live performances and seasonal celebrations, there is always something exciting happening at Longwood Gardens. The facilities and amenities provided are top-notch. The visitor center offers a wealth of information, and the staff members are knowledgeable and eager to assist. There are also dining options available, ensuring you can refuel and relax during your visit. In summary, Longwood Gardens is a botanical paradise that surpasses expectations. It is a place where nature’s beauty flourishes and where visitors can immerse themselves in a world of tranquility and wonder. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, a photography lover, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, Longwood Gardens is an absolute must-visit destination.

Its simply another world to see. A world of trees and plants. Took me 4.30 hours to finish the most parts of it, from the fountain to the meadow, walked about 5 miles. Do some research before visit, bring enough food and drinks, hat, sunglasses etc. I guarantee it will be a memorable tour of your life. Couldn’t believe my eyes that man could build something like this. I saw people from all over the world, people of all religion, people of all ages at the same place enjoying the mesmerizing views of Longwood garden.

Wow. Simply amazing... Not sure there is much more I can say that others haven't. There is a reason this place has so many reviews and a rating this high. This is the best botanical garden I have ever been to and I've seen a lot. The conservatory by itself is amazing let alone the other features of the place including the old trees, the various fountains, the treehouses, the train and the historical building on site. I don't think one day is enough to truly experience this place and if I lived closer I would have a membership in a heartbeat. I'm truly impressed by this place and cannot recommend it enough. Stop reading reviews and go see it, it's spectacular.

This place is amazing! Plan to spend a day here; there is a lot to see. The website lists all the attractions, but the fountain show is amazing, and they're currently expanding the conservatory to make it even more spectacular. The guides are all very helpful, and there is something different every season. I recommend getting there early to get a shady parking spot.

Longwood is the most spectacular place to visit! The flower gardens, the fountains & of course, the observatory, were just so beautiful. To begin with, we had the BEST weather day - no humidity, slight breeze, & Temps in the low 70s. We visited in May - the peonies & roses were in bloom in the gardens & in the observatory the many flowers & colors were breathtaking!! We spent 10 hours at the park walking around in awe of how beautiful this place is & I was shocked to learn we walked over 7 1/2 miles! We stayed for the evening fountain light show, which did not disappoint! What a way to end the day with brilliant lights & fountains timed perfectly with music. We ate twice at the Cafe & the food was delicious! The employees at the park were very friendly & informative- we could tell they love their jobs (especially Scott, whom we met at the Bell Tower). Thanks Longwood Gardens for making our day & visit so perfect. 😊

We are constant season ticket holders at Longwood. It is a great place to visit all year round. The kids love it, there’s plenty to see and amaze them and us! Fountain shows, Christmas lights, walks through the conservatory, it’s all so well maintained and the staff is very attentive and helpful. Great food and craft beer too! Expensive but very worthwhile.

Love love love this garden. I have been coming here with my family since 2005 and it literally never gets old. One of the most gorgeous, highest quality places I've ever been to, and easily the best garden out there. The best part about this place apart from the insanely diverse selection of plants and flora, consistently amazing food at the restaurant (especially the mushroom soup), world class conservatory, fountains, and decorations, is its dynamism. It is one of the few places that is worth getting an annual membership for because every season, almost all the flowers, plants, trees, decorations, etc are switched or rotated out for new ones, curating a completely different and unique experience each time you come. 100% recommend this place to anyone and always look forward to coming back

I have come here many times and I always enjoy the experience. The gardens are beautiful with so much to see. They have wheel chairs that you can request for free. We got a good workout pushing around our friend. There are a few options for eating but you can bring something to eat in a bag.

Some beautiful, breathtaking plants, and the fountains are exquisite. I would definitely recommend, but only if you are in the area. I wouldn’t go out of the way to travel here, as it wasn’t that spectacular- for instance, we traveled 1.5 hours and didn’t think it was worth it.

The Longwood Botanical Gardens is beautiful. We went to see the Christmas lights, and we had a great time walking down the park. The Conservatory gives you a rainforest feel; I loved the poinsettia. There is a tree house that younger kids can enjoy. There is a beer garden and a cafe on the premises; hot chocolate and cookies came in handy on the winter night.

The first time I ever visited this garden was a 1999 when my Nana travel to Pennsylvania to witness my first graduate school graduation when my parent was not willing to attend. My sister joined as well. It was wonderful witnessing such beauty over the years I have now attended probably 100 times over the years and my favorite moments are in the early summer and then during winter. The story of how the gardens going to be is extraordinary but the actual gardens and everything they do to cultivate a constant shifting spectacular program is second to none in the world. I’ve been to France twice with her a stunning place to witness both manicured and wild garden and this place is right up there with it! 🌏

Since moving away, It's been years since I have been here. When i left PA, they were starting some major renovation, I have been keeping up with the progress online and on U-tube. It was really nice to see it finally to see it in person. We went on Monday morning when it first opened and it was busy. The gardens are still beautifully done. I can't wait for the renovation to be completed.

We always love coming to Longwood Gardens. We have been there for the Christmas lights and plan to go back this winter but we were recently there in the summer. This is a wonderful place to visit no matter what age. It is definitely a lot of walking and completely worth it. It is handicap accessible. I can't say enough about how beautifully kept Longwood Gardens is and how much love and time goes into every area. The staff members are very knowledgeable and inspiring. They even go the distance and offer to take pictures of you and your family and tell you what is the best angle and place to stand. You can tell that they really like working there. The tree houses are neat especially if you have younger children. The conservatory is breathtaking. There are so many beautiful plants that we wouldn't have ever seen in person. They are currently building an expansion! I can't wait to see it finished.

What a beautiful place !! Don't think I've ever seen such a huge place such as Longwood Gardens. So many different varieties of flowers & the landscaping was just incredible. You easily spend hours walking around & still most probably not see everything. We arrived just in time to see the water fountain show & it was beautiful !! I would highly suggest a visit here if you'd like to have a relaxing, leisurely walk around to see so many flowers in so many different colors, you will not be disappointed !

Beautiful garden grounds with an absolutely astonishing collection of flowers, trees, bushes, cacti. Hard to choose a favorite part - everything is just amazing! You definitely don't want to miss the blooming flower beds in the spring & the conservatory with its green wall! Visiting Longwood Gardens is my most memorable visit of all botanical gardens & arboretums. Reservations are required & limited during spring blooms. Make sure to book your visit in advance not to be turned away. Entrance fees aren't very cheap (comparable to many other arboretums & botanical gardens) but here it's very well worth it!!! There's a nice beer garden area adjacent to a cafe - great for taking a break between roaming the grounds for hours at a time. The cafe is pricey & I can't vouch for the food taste & quality. They have a few craft beers on tap in the beer garden + canned beer & bottled wine in the cafe. There's also a few soda machines. The one little thing I wish they improved was more trash bins in the park. I didn't see a single trash can for over an hour, while walking through the right half of the park.

The garden is a truly beautiful location, and walking through the different sections is quite impressive. The beauty and variety of the flowers and landscaping are truly remarkable. I enjoyed taking in the lush surroundings and strolling through the grounds. However, the garden's organization leaves something to be desired. Some of the areas were not kept especially clean, and the garbage containers were full, which was off-putting. This was especially true in the restaurant area, where things were not very well organized, and the cleanliness was not up to par. Another issue I encountered was the sheer number of visitors at the park, which made it crowded and a bit challenging to navigate. Furthermore, the parking was exceptionally far from the entrance, causing some stress for me due to my 7-month-old baby that I had to carry for quite a distance. In summary, Longwood Garden is a beautiful place to visit, but the organization could be significantly improved. If the cleanliness and garbage collection are addressed, and the parking situation is reevaluated, it would be a much more enjoyable destination. Despite these issues, I enjoyed my time at Longwood Garden overall and would recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful and relaxing day out.

Fantastic time here with coworkers, family, and friends. The water show they have is not only mesmerizing but it's scenic in ways you so choose by changing where you are watching. Whether you're right up close to the jets, near the pathway formed with trees parallel to each other, by the botanical garden or near the benches outside the gallery/museum entrance - you're sure to enjoy the view. There's also a super cute orange and white cat around the garden sometimes!

5th time here, so beautiful. Massive and so cheap to enter, free parking and tons of it with shuttle service if needed. Greenhouses, fountains/fountain shows, lily pad ponds, fields, trails, etc. Quick food service and local beer avail. Can spend the whole day or just a few hours. Can re-enter later for night fountain shows with hand stamp. Gift shop is pricey but cool stuff and plants for purchase. Seriously bigger than you think, the best gardens Ive been to such a variety of plants from all ecosystems. See new things every time I go. Worth your while, I promise it will exceed expectations. Keep an eye out for garden kitties! Keep in mind one of the greenhouses is down for renovation until next year so if you want the WHOLE experience just wait but still TONS to see.

Longwood Gardens is a masterpiece of gardening innovation. It is worth visiting anytime of year. In the Spring the gardens outside and plantings in the conservatory come to life with blooms and vibrancy. In the summer, different blooms and lush greenery. And inf the winter, Longwood is transformed into a wonderland of color and lights that create aging for any age of visitor. It can be experienced in the conservatory during the holidays but outside pathways are aglow with all different 'shows' of light and movement. Summer is a time for incredible fountain shows that are themed to musical compositions. Longwood is popular, anytime. Be sure to go online and make reservations for your visit. There are at least three places to eat. The shop is amazing. Parking is plentiful yet at crowded times, it may be tough to find a space. Plenty of support for older folks to get around, and those with disabilities, too.

Always a fantastic visit. Have been a member for fourteen years. Well worth the price of membership. It saves a lot if you are a repeat visitor to buy a membership. Displays and exhibits change with each season and are very well done. Staff is quite knowledgeable and eager to answer questions. Many volunteers who are also well trained and knowledgeable. Only complaint is that the prices in the cafe have gone up significantly since the remodeling. Food is very good in the cafe and offers lots of selections using local produce.

This place is well worth the admission fees. Pleasant surprises everywhere. Totally going back during the season changes especially Christmas display.

First time visiting. The gardens were beautiful! I highly recommend. Lots of walking, but plenty of shade for cover. The staff were helpful and plentiful. There were also restaurants since you cannot bring food into the area. They were predictably expensive but otherwise good.

👍👍 No visit to Longwood Gardens isn't complete without a visit to the House. What I enjoyed most was the informative video about the life of Mr. DuPont. He never had any children and his father died in an explosion caused by chemicals. Better living through chemistry as the old saying goes. Further...
