I ordered a saddle for my super hard to fit mare at the end of last year. Staci and Melinda did an absolutely stunning job to find the right tree and saddle style for my horse - and of course myself. I could choose all the elements (you name it) on that saddle. It is one of the most beautiful saddles I have ever seen. Thank you for this stunning and beautiful saddle. The craftsmanship is superior and it‘s a gorgeous piece of art!!! We love it.

I cannot day enough about this company these women are amazing, patient and professional. I have a short stout short backed TWH he is a difficult fit. He had serious lameness issues due to bad saddle fit. Allegany was my third “CUSTOM” saddle and the only one to perfectly fit my horse. My horse is doing great!The craftsmanship, detail and comfort are outstanding. Wherever we go, I get jaw dropping “wow”s. I’m now looking forward to my matching breast collar and bridle!!

Great company! They work with you for the best fit for both you and your horse. They take the time to answer questions, and I had a lot of them!! Finally have had some time using the saddle and I totally love it. My horse is comfortable with the fit, no longer cinchy, and I am no longer sore after rides. It is the most comfortable saddle I have ever sat in, and I have sat in quite a few. Even though I ended up purchasing a saddle that was ready made, it happened to be on the tree I needed and it feels like it was made just for me! I had spent almost 2 years and tried more than 5 saddles for my hard to fit mare. I even tried going treeless. Nothing worked! I read in my horse illustrated that this was a great company for custom saddles specializing in hard to fit horses. I gave them a try. I’ll never go back to any other saddle brand! Melinda and Staci were amazing! The custom carving saddle work that is on my saddle is absolutely gorgeous, and the transformation in my horse is unbelievable. My trainer thought my mare was difficult, stubborn, and had high anxiety. Then I got my new custom saddle and she is a DREAM to ride!!! Her gaits are extended, flowing, collected, and her temperament is 100% different. She is now willing, and an enjoyable to ride. Even my trainer can’t believe the change in the demeanor and attitude in my mare. I would never have believed a saddle could make that much of a difference until I rode in this one. Not only is the saddle comfortable for the horse, and fits like a glove, but it’s SUPER comfortable for the rider too!! I’ll recommend this company to everyone who asks. Extremely knowledgeable & competent in determining exact saddle tree needed for horse- easy process using "fit to be seen forms"- you take pictures and videos of your horse with the ten different forms representing saddle tree types. Rider gets to choose saddle style (Rancher, Wade, Endurance, etc ...) and personalize saddle with endless options- please review their web site for examples. They managed to perfectly fit my horse and me with a totally exquisite saddle- first one ever that stays in place, doesn't pinch her shoulders, or hit her in the loins due to her short back. l LOVE it- it compares to a custom saddle I have for the leather quality, stitching and symmetry; and it lets me be in a balanced ride position with my legs underneath me.

I am thrilled with my new saddle. I love everything about it—the way it looks, the way it feels, and the way it fits my horse. Thank you so much, Staci, for all the work you put into finding the right fit for my mare, and for helping me navigate all the choices I had on the final product. I’m still sort of shocked that I could get exactly what I wanted in a western saddle for such a reasonable price. Here's what Molly has to say about her saddle! "Here’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it. I’m in my mid seventies and have ridden all my life, so I’ve had a few saddles. When I began researching a company to make me a saddle, Allegany was the only one that had numerous forms to try. More than 10 if need be! The time was worth it and I know I have the very best saddle for my 24 yr. old horse. I ride in the mountains of NE Washington State with steep hills and 4 ft. banks to deal with on every ride. Because of the flared front, shortened length and width, and the weight, Rain goes down hills now much more easily and confidently. That in turn makes me more confident as a rider. She’s always had a slightly sensitive spot on her back which has disappeared. Her sweat pattern is even all the way around. The three point rigging is everything I wanted. The saddle stays put. I don’t have to tighten it as I used to before mid ride. That rigging frees up her front legs which helps her move better as well. No rear cinch to deal with anymore. The 4” cantle holds me in very well. I can feel her body more now. With the skirt being smaller and the flares at her shoulders, and the rigging, she moves in a way that I have not felt prior to this saddle. I have have had my saddle for a good six weeks plus so have had numerous rides, at least 11 or 12. I waited because I kept noticing things. All said and done, Staci was delightful to work with and extremely knowledgeable. The whole experience was pleasurable and easy. Lastly, it’s so much more comfortable than other saddles I’ve had. I love my saddle! I have a horse that I could never get a good fit for in a western saddle. I am now working on western dressage, with a saddle that finally doesn't pinch my boys shoulders. The fitting process was great, Staci really takes the time to make sure it will fit. The custom options were dizzying, but my saddle is gorgeous, unique,and one of a kind, for no more money than a non custom saddle. It's also pretty light weight, great for anyone with a bad shoulder.

Their saddles are amazing! Staci was great to work with and the saddle came out even better than I imagined. My hard to fit boy is no longer hard to fit!

Seriously, I don’t know why you haven’t bought an Allegany Mountain Saddlery. This is my 2nd one this year for 2 different horses. I’m telling you, straight out of the box, it feels like butter, conforms to your seat, the craftsmanship and detail are drool-worthy, and it nestles on the horse with fitted perfection. This time I got all the “things” to match. Guys- ALL of this was less expensive than off the rack. 🤯 AND-I can lift it easily!! Felina sporting her brand new All-around saddle with matching breast collar and bridle.

My saddle arrived yesterday, due to daylight I didn't get to ride till today! Boy this saddle has been soo worth the wait! I got Stark when he was 18 months old. He will be 8 this coming year. I told myself that someday he would have one of your saddles. That would fit us both alike. Setting that saddle on him today was so emotional. Getting to finally see it on him had me smiling all day! Just in our short ride today, I could feel a difference in his movement. He was stretching out more in his walk, head lower and relaxed. He just felt comfortable!! Hi Staci, I wanted to let you know that I have been riding in my Renegade Endurance saddle through the spring, in the arena and around my petite ranch, and through the summer that included riding in the Sierra mountains in Sequoia National Forest. I could not be happier with this saddle. For one, I keep it in my home office just so I can look at it, it is so beautiful, a work of art. My mare, seems very happy and moves well. But that is not only because of the custom fit of the tree, it is more because I am balanced in the saddle with my feet under me due to the placement of the stirrups. All of my previous saddles had the stirrup leathers more forward which caused me to unwittingly pound my poor mare's back. No matter how hard I tried to post softly and sit balanced, those saddles made it impossible. I struggled all these years to have a balanced seat, blaming myself for poor horsemanship; when it was the saddle. So now I find everything is easy and I am in fact a very good rider and balanced. I can ride the trot rising or sitting with softness and I have more confidence at the canter because I am balanced and moving with my horse. My mare appreciates it too and is more relaxed. I wish I had had this saddle years ago and I am glad I made the decision to purchase it and be patient and wait for it to be made. It has been worth it! Happy trails, Mayra Paldon

Allegany saddles provide an incredible fit at an affordable price. I had tried at least 20 off-the-rack saddles on my horse over three years and could never find a good fit for him. Staci at Allegany came to our rescue! The fitting process was thorough and easy. My horse's custom saddle fits him like a glove, is comfortable for me, and looks beautiful! I would recommend this company to any horse owner and think it's the best investment you can make in your horse.

Wonderful people to work with for getting a custom saddle made for my horse. I had a Western Saddle made for my 4 year old Gypsy. The Saddle came out Stunning ! And fit the Pony and me perfectly. The people at Allegany Mountain Saddlery or very responsive, and provided some much needed information and input on choosing the correct saddle and features. Their method to send you Tree Forms to place on your horse, and then provide them pictures and videos of each one, worked perfect. They actually sent me different forms the second time, because they saw that my horse needed the shorter, wider forms. I will order another saddle from them for my other horse. Wonderful, knowledgeable company to deal with.

Allegany was recommended to me by my mare’s previous owner. Stacy and Kate were terrific. The entire process was explained in detail and they were extremely helpful throughout. Best of all, the Endurance saddle I ordered met all my criteria—it is beautifully designed, light weight, and extremely comfortable. And it arrived earlier than expected!

Best money I ever spent on a saddle. My only regret…spending thousands of dollars on saddles trying to achieve what was possible with these ladies. My Allegany fits my horse like a glove. I immediately noticed positive changes in his movement after I got my saddle. Super relaxed, free movement, straight movement, relaxed mouth…for me…I can feel my horse underneath me, the most balanced, comfortable western saddle I’ve ever ridden in. This review is a little late as I have had my saddle for several months-I just want to say that I LOVE my Allegheny saddle and I am so thankful to finally have a saddle that fits me and my horse!! The process took a little while for me, because I have a very difficult to fit a horse but the Allegheny team was very patient and determined to get it right and they did!! It fits my horse like a glove and I couldn’t be happier !! if you are on the fence about Allegheny saddles do not hesitate-you won’t be disappointed!!

I have owned my saddle for almost two months now, and I am delighted with how it turned out. Not only is the saddle absolutely gorgeous, with such beautiful details in the tooling, but it is also the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden in. Bullseye (My Horse) seems to love it too. He is no longer getting cinch sores, and the saddle stays in place; this is saying a lot, as I went through six saddles in less than a year. I appreciate both Kate and Staci, plus team for working closely with me for months to ensure my horse, and I received the best product possible. Fall has arrived here in the Tetons and its been 5 months since I my new saddle arrived. This photo is from the first ride I took with it. In that time I have ridden in it so much, between my guiding at Linn Canyon Ranch and for my own pleasure, it has started to get some serious patina! I love, love, love this saddle! So much so that I’m going to order another one for my other horse. I’ve searched high and low and I don’t think there’s another company out there that makes a saddle of this quality for the price. I love that it's light, at least 10 pounds lighter than the ranch saddle I was riding in before, incredibly durable and well made. I put the saddle I use to the test riding deep canyons, big mountains and doing multi-day trips in which I need to tie on all kinds of gear. It was also super important to me that the saddle I buy for Diggety fit her really well because I ask a lot of this horse and she really gives me a lot in return.
