We have been coming here for 15+ years and we love, love, love this mountain. But what happened with lift tickets pricing this year is absolutely horrible! Reed Hastings bought the mountain and is trying to price us regular people out. I just looked at Friday 2/9/2024 - $229 before taxes. For one day! We can drive 15 min to Snowbasin and ski for $40 less. Snowbird and Alta for comparison also $40 less. They call it dynamic pricing, but it’s not. Dynamic pricing matches pricing to demand. Here it’s just the opposite: they try to make up the revenue they are missing due to lack of demand, by pricing tickets even higher. To prove my point, here is empty popular lift (Mary’s) on a powder day. That would have never been the case in previous years.🤯

Shout out to the Timberline Lodge and the maintenance crew for providing c l a a a a a s s y as f*rk renovations to the facilities here, and to Chef James Hamilton for breathing life into the menu at Powder Keg and the cafeteria. Very excited to see what Hidden Lake has to offer when it opens. As a (very) biased employee of the commissary kitchen for PowMow, this review is however not a matter of opinion, it's just a fact. Powder mountain used to be the best place on Earth. Reed hasting bought it and got rid of the 1500 a day/ 3000 season pass caps. Powder mountain says there are caps but doesn't share what they are. The parking lot is often full and they're still selling tickets so I don't think there is one. The mountain has snow cat access to a couple areas that are amazing. Reed is getting rid of that and adding lifts. It gets tracked out quickly and is much more crowded.

I'm not sure how to give my ultimate review. This place rocks! I never heard of Powder Mountain, but damn!; I have too many good things to say about this resort; their people and our experience. The ski resort is big. We couldn't do it all (maybe 30%) in 2 days. Great trails; very long; incredible views; quick lines (on a weekend); we may be from the East coast, but we've done over a dozen big name resorts and this BY FAR was the best. Most impressive was the staff. As soon as we got there everyone was there to help. Tons of positives to say here, but to suffice it to say I wish all of my staff was as attentive, helpful, thorough, not on their phones and friendly. 5 stars to Powder Mountain! I could go on, and on. At the end of day 1, we met the guy who books music at the Timberline lodge. Wow! Mind-blowing better than expected, crowd tipping $20s, Music was awesome; Friggin' Amazing!, etc. Skiers like to enjoy a great day and that scene at the lodge was just off the rails in a great way! Cutting it short; this mountain has great skiing, great employees and has a great atmosphere. We're already planning next year's visit. Join us!

Had a fantastic private lesson as a first time skier with Paul! Worth every penny for the full day session (930-330). I had tried skiing once back in 2011 and it ended after 90mins with me being skied down the bunny slope in tears by one of my friends. That was a scarring enough experience to keep me off the mountain for over a DECADE! I came into my private lesson, which I shared with a friend, with zero hopes/expectation. When my friend mentioned that I'd be going down the actual lift by lunch time, I was highly skeptical, but Paul was so helpful and patient and had both of us on the lift just after lunch, much to my surprise/delight! He explained and demonstrated proper body positioning, angles, movements etc and was just so encouraging! I fell a lot, of course, but by the end of our lesson, I actually was trying a couple of blue routes with him. Powder itself is a really cool spot, a little farther out and was less crowded than Alta which we went to the following day (could be because it was midweek-Thursday- though). It's definitely got a grungy/purist vibe to it, but still a welcoming/inviting atmosphere, and coming from a complete novice, it's a great spot to get started!

Wow!! What a gem!!!! Have been coming to Park City area for years and had never made the trek to Powder Mountain- or Pow Mow as the locals call it. It’s a decidedly different experience than the other area hills. Think skiing 20 years ago. Fewer people, they only sell 1500 lift tickets per day. The terrain is great. On one of the busiest days of the year we saw virtually no one. We utilized the free tour guide at 10 am and we’re lucky to have Judi from NH. She was so friendly, knowledgeable, and adapting to our group. I am reluctant to share this review because I reluctantly want to keep this special place a secret!! Consider the $25 cat ride to the untouched terrain!!

I would give 10 Stars if possible. To be clear; Powder Mountain is not a “resort”. There are very basic lodges, primitive facilities, and no towns closer than 30 minutes from the mountain. HOWEVER; Powder has the most expansive, beautiful, wide-open On and Off Piste terrain I have ever seen. And this applies for ALL levels of skiers/boarders from Green to Double Diamond +. The lifts and staff are excellent. (Be aware of the T-Bar lift if you’re not comfortable, stick to the excellent chair lifts) The reloadable RFID card is super convenient also. Limited parking makes it impossible for crowds to form here. An amazing gem of a ski resort within easy driving distance of SLC/Ogden. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

BEST SKI RESORT IN UTAH!! An absolutely incredible resort with some of the best terrain I’ve ever boarded. I had the best powder day I’ve ever had. I was boarding untouched powder the whole day. Due to powder mountains higher elevation they have some of the best snow in Utah. I love how they limit ticket sales so it never gets too crowded. We walked onto almost every lift on a sold out day! I’ve been to almost every resort in Utah and Powder mountain might take the cake as my favorite!

Prefer over Park City every time! We live in Florida so only ski 1-2x a year and loved Powder Mountain. First, rentals were great and so easy to get. No line and great service. Staff everywhere was smiling and chatting with us at each left, super friendly and professional. The views and trails were gorgeous, well groomed and they limit how many tickets were sold so we skied ALONE many times down various green and blue trails. Eden has a few decent restaurants but also worth the 25 minute drive to Ogden for 25th street filled with restaurants and bars.

Powder Mountain has something for everyone, blue cruisers, trees and challenging blacks. I went on a Saturday and didn’t wait for more than 3 minutes at most to get on a lift.

We skied on a 3 day old storm with our guide Frank for 7 hours and found nothing but perfect fresh turns from bell to bell. I’ve ridden a lot of mountains with a lot of guides but PowMow with Frank at the helm is a trip you’re gonna want more than once a year.

Went night skiing on 12/29 and it was a great experience. I love that they cap the amount of tickets sold to keep from over-crowding. They had a "magic carpet" lift that my toddler loved, and the runs were varied enough that I enjoyed my time, and my 3 year-old could learn to ski. I also had a great experience with staff. I lost my diaper bag and I had it back in my possession the next afternoon. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. Thank you again!

Amazing place to ski and snowboard. Not packed at all. Many runs and the snow is great. We keep coming every winter ❄️

A mountain that truly lives up to its name! Pros: -at around 8000 acres, absolutely enormous -tickets limited to 2000 per day mean minimal crowds, and very few lines, even on holidays - fresh tracks all day pretty much guaranteed -It’s Utah, so the snow is amazing -low-key feel, not like Park City -2 snow cats which can be used by anyone for a relatively low fee and a bus that takes you back from some side country Cons: -not nearly as steep as many other mountains -only eight lifts, only one high speed

A little hard to go skiing for my first time, but once I got the hang of it, it was sooooo fun. Slopes are awesome size and just so fun and diverse. Went during the night and was absolutely amazing.

Absolutely love this place, would buy a season pass if I lived in the area. We went on a powder day and had fresh tracks all day, due to the pass limit. loved how friendly all of the employees are, it created one of the best vibes I have seen at a ski area. Loved the woodys world area the most, one of the most unique things I have ever experienced.

Absolutely amazing resort. I grew up going night boarding there almost every weekend I could go. This is where I learned to snowboard and it was great. I just went back after 20 years away and it did not disappoint. The snow was incredible. The trails were all groomed and taken care of even though there was a lot of new snow there. They also had some great food at the lodge. They have several lodges at convenient points on the mountain. I love that they have many lifts, tons of trails, and all levels of difficulty. I took my 12 year old son there who is a beginner and he was able to do everything they had available and I was able to be challenged while on some of the same trails. The staff is what sets them apart from everyone else. They have the nicest and best people around and I had great interactions with all of them. Parking is good as well during the week, I am sure it fills up on the weekends though.

This is a fantastic local ski resort if you’re looking for an affordable, beginner-friendly, non-corporate, local feel resort. We came and here and took the first time snowboard school and wow! I have to say we were blown away by the instructor that we had. My wife is terrified of slopes and kept falling repeatedly on the top of the green run and was close to giving up. Our instructor Doug, patiently worked 1x1 with her and all of a sudden, it clicked and she successfully went down the mountain with no issues. She was hype after that and I have to give my sincere thanks to Doug for his steadfast commitment to teaching and working with her. Thank you!

What a great experience Aubree had while attending the private snowboard lesson. Morgan was so awesome with Aubree, that she didn’t want to leave when the session was done. Thanks again Morgan, you rock and we will be requesting you in the future 😊 Happy Holidays 🎄

Downhill bike park, we did not get in very many runs before the weather drove us away. However what we did was fun and the staff was 100% Amazing! We will be back.

Spent the day with some friends on an all day snow cat skiing adventure yesterday. Our two guides, JT and Becky, were amazing! Had a safety brief in the morning then we were off for a full day of untracked snow, amazing views, and fresh powder. Halfway through the day we had a picnic lunch at a “snow table“ that the guides built for us to eat around. I have done multiple trips like this and this was by far the best one so far will definitely go back and do it again highly highly highly recommend!

This place is HUGE! And I can't put in words how much I appreciate the resort putting a hard cap on ticket sales. We skied Sunday and Monday of President's Weekend and never waited more than 5 minutes in line. Super awesome + friendly staff, great terrain for all abilities and amazing mountain views. A truly unique place to ski!

This place is magical. And that's all I have to say about that. Well... also would be nice if there were some EV charging options.

I have coordinated the yearly ski trip for the gang for the last ten years. A few years ago, we discovered Powder Mountain; we no longer debate where we are flying and where we might ski. Powder forever!

50th Anniversary of one of the best mountains in the US. Hidden Gem. Get the wings and see music at Powder Keg after your fresh turns.

El Doce MTB race at powder mountain is a great time and the trail maintenance they do prior to the race is top notch. I'm looking forward to trying out the new downhill tracks they just added lift access for too.

My family and I have been going to this mountain for 10 years. It’s always been a great experience besides tonight. I have never had a lifty give me and my family so much attitude. As we are sitting in line my son (21yrs) took his vape out and hit it in line before getting on the lift. Without warning or anything the lifty starts yelling at my son with so much disrespect. I don’t think me and my family will ever return to this mountain. I have nothing with the mountain and the other employees but the level of disrespect this young man displayed will never be okay. Personally I wouldn’t want someone with anger issues like what I saw should be working at a resort, where family and friends go to have a good time.
