This is a great opportunity to help give back to the care and feeding of many rescued large and small wildcats. The organization has been around for many years but has solidified a tour schedule and other options. The public tour is best for kids able to walk independently and while they have a gator to help with non-ambulatory guests it is best that one comes prepared for walking in the NC woods. There are memberships available as well as special events. The organization is big on reusing material as they are constantly working to improve the habitats provided for their animals. They are a 501c3 non-profit and accept all financial donations. They are also very Covid-19 conscious with disinfectant use on any chair and in the gift shop.

Amazing accredited Sanctuary with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Not my first visit and really hope it's not my last. They provide wonderful homes to these beautiful babies that have been rescued from folks who thought they could be pets instead of wild animals. Their love for all of the babies is noticeable throughout the facility, they have a ton of room to roam, they are happy and well cared for. You are within 6 feet of a majestic animal, how can it not be a wonderful place to visit?!

Accredited sanctuary for big cats about 30-40 minutes from Raleigh and Durham. We took a 10am tour and were able to see most of the cats active particularly when the food truck was nearby. Be ready to walk the whole time between habitats and wear good shoes. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and interactive. Great for all ages and supports a wonderful program. Without it, many of these animals would otherwise be euthanized. Gift shop on site and opportunities to “adopt” the animals as well.

This establishment is proof of the inherent goodness of humanity. The knowledgeable guide walked us through the tour, all the while pointing out not only the things that make the various animals unique, but more importantly speaking to the maltreatment of the same by less scrupulous entities. All in all, a great decision. And don't forget the gift shop! Everyone there is a volunteer, so please show support (ps...the tigers paint PAINTINGS!)

Do not go when very hot and humid, the bigger cats are not active during this time at twilight tour. Then again you have to book some time ahead so you will not know the weather outcome that day of your visit. Tour guide is very passionate about the animals and very knowledgeable. I want to say his name is Tim but unsure.

I am so grateful for places like this that rescue big cats. I have been there once and plan to go again, since they always seem to take in more cats. They do a 5K now that I like to participate in. If you love kitty cats, then you’ll love this place.

My personal experience. This is a great place to go to learn ALL about the Tigers and other animals they house there. This is not a great place to bring children younger than about 12 years old. Very rough loose gravel trails and rocky dirt roads. Challenging for little legs to walk or adults to push a stroller. Also, poison ivy and fire ant hills! Bottom line, the animals are beautiful, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, but the younger kids in the group definitely got bored.

Great place to see live big (and small) animals being well cared for. (Reserve your ticket 1+ week in advance.) The two hour tour was interesting and informative; the time passed quickly. They have a strong volunteer and donor program. Trail is very walkable, but will be challenging for strollers or folks who require a flat path. We saw two orange tigers, a male & female lion, servals, a caracal, a cougar, a New Zealand wild dog, two white tigers, and a bobcat. At four of the pens, an assistant gave snacks to the cat, so we could see the animal much closer then. Animals are in chain link enclosures; they are not behind glass; so all our photos include those chain links. Our group of adults very much enjoyed our visit.

This was a great experience. We did the twilight tour with the volunteers (Tom and Hank, I believe). The tour was educational, ethical and an all around good time. The rescue seems to be doing right by big cats, would recommend.

Awesome place to raise awareness of wild animals. Tigers, lions, servilles, caracals and more. Greg was very informative. We can't wait to return

Very informative. Our guide knew her stuff and we enjoyed the Twilight Tour and watching a few of the cats get treats. It was a humbling experience to see how big these cats can get in person. Worth stopping in for a tour.

I visited today with 10 yr old granddaughter and wife. I saw true compassion and caring in the staff. The tigers, lions, etc, appeared to be well cared for. They appear to have safety in mind and I recommend visiting and supporting this worthy cause. They also have a nice gift shop. I will probably visit again.

Such an amazing experience! The grounds are nice, the staff is friendly, the gift shop reasonably priced, & the animals seem VERY well cared for! I learned so much on the Twilight Tour, but also heard really lovely stories about the cats because the volunteers leading it truly care for these big babies. My only regret is not visiting sooner. Will definitely be back when in the area!

It's wonderful to see these beautiful animals living a peaceful life for the rest of their days. A lot of them have come from bad places so it's amazing to see them given a better life. Tour guides are super knowledgeable and able to answer any questions.

Loved our twilight tour of the big cats! Very educational. Recommend good walking shoes for rocky trails and best for older children and adults.

Our tour guide was great, telling us the history of the animals we were able to see. Not every cat will be on the tour path as they are a rescue center. Some cats unfortunately are not comfortable around the public and Carolina Tiger Rescue does all they can to make sure their animals are happy and healthy. The terrain is uneven as the rescue is built on an old farm and you will have to remain with your tour guide at all times both for your safety and the animals.

By the end of this tour I wanted to throw myself into the tiger cage, not only to end to my misery, but to provide some actual entertainment for the group. It took 2 hours to see less than 10 animals. The animals were beautiful, that's not the issue. The issue is the tour guide taking as long as humanly possible at each enclosure to explain every single fact about the animal... pick 2 facts and move on. People have other things to do, and if I'm not going to see that many animals, then I want to get the tour done and move on with my day. Even if the goal of this place is to educate, there are much better and quicker ways to do so.This tour needs to be drastically streamlined and modified in order to be enjoyable for your average person. I won't be back, nor will I ever suggest to anyone.

They clearly take very good care of the kitties and the tour was super informative and cool. Very happy big cats. Also they had a barn cat named Moldemort who stole my heart

The folks are, and the work that they are doing is absolutely amazing. The experience of getting to see these beautiful animals in an environment that belongs to them is truly beyond belief. It's definitely a stop worth making a North Carolina!

This is a must see! So many great photo ops and stories about the animals. We went early in the morning when the cats were most active and waiting to be fed. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable. There are people cages on the trail in case an animal gets out, but our tour guide assured us that has never happened. The gift shop has a lot of great items.

They are doing a great service taking care of these animals. We [wife and I) went for the twilight tour. It was very interesting and you could really tell that these people care for the cats. Never been so close to such large and powerful animals. I strongly recommend the tour and donations to help this place out!

Absolutely incredible experience! Had to take my husband since he lives tigers, and it was so worth the drive! Our guide was very entertaining and engaging. He was also patient and handled the younger, outspoken/curious guests extremely well. Learned a ton and got to see tigers and other big cats up close. Very unique and worthwhile experience!

An important center in the conservation of animals, specifically tigers and a whole host of rescuers! We hosted an ecoprint workshop with leaves from the compound. Tours, events, gift ahop, school grpups...all are a part of it. Well run. Organized. Plan your trip! All ages.

Excellent place to come and learn about large cats.. the staff is very knowledgeable the animals are very happy and the place is extremely clean. Definitely recommend you spend a few dollars in a couple hours out of this place as they rely on tours and donations to be able to feed the animals and continue to teach us about them. We will definitely be back soon!

I love going on these tours! Many of the guides are knowledgeable and make it fun for all ages while sharing important information. Chris was our guide and he talked too long on each subject. The kids (none mine) in the group got very restless and I saw many adults looking at their phones.

Read about this place after an article came out on WRAL about them rescuing big cats from other states & was immediately intrigued. Didn't even know we had something like this in NC! Glad to say my experience was amazing. Sue our tour guide was awesome at answering questions, giving us background history on where the cats came from, what they do for enrichment, giving facts about the cats & as well as how to help in small ways to prevent the species from going extinct. The cats are beautiful & are extremely well taken care of! Their living enclosures are well maintained, clean & very close to what they would live in if they were in the wild. This was 1000% worth the hour & a half drive. Thank you Carolina Tiger Rescue for protecting & rescuing these cats!

Incredible experience! We learned so much about large cats during our trip--super impressed with the knowledge of our guide! This is a wonderful facility that I highly recommend for people of any age!

It was a super hot day, so many of the large cats were not out. The benches and water spouts along the way were good (and needed). The tour guide was awesome! He answered questions and was a wealth of interesting information. He did a good job of addressing maltreatment of wild animals and how they came to Carolina Tiger Rescue in Pittsboro Small kids approx. 5yrs old and younger were fussy and too young to understand or appreciate the tour.

Second time going and learned many new things! I always recommend Carolina Tiger Rescue!! Go if you are near the Pittsboro area!!

The tour guide explained their mission and background for each cat. They are always looking for volunteer and donations. Thanks for their rescuing these big cats and give a home to them.
