Great trail/walkway around the “pond’. It’s about 3.5 miles in length. Numerous events, sculling, dragon boats, 5k runs, paddle boarding, kayaking, corporate events and weddings in the main building. Great for a walk (with pets as well), and biking. Good kids playground. Plenty of free parking. There are restrooms in the main building and across across the lake on the opposite side. There is also a water fountain in the main building on the ground floor.

Great venue for rowing competitions! Parking can be tricky during events but once you’re here it’s lovely. Bringing a bike looks like a lot of fun. There’s a large, covered jungle-gym for young children, a few food trucks, vendors for events & ample restroom facilities. Bring sunscreen & a hat! 👍

This park is great for exercise! But, the East side near the highway has no trees and is in full sun. The West side is better and I will typically ride my bike up and down the paved trails on that side. It also has a nice crushed shell trail through the pine trees. However the last time I jogged through there, a few days ago, the smell of the pine trees was obliterated by the stench of dog feces. It might be a good idea to supply poop bags and/or put up a couple signs that people walking their dogs should clean up after them.

Great place to sit and relax and watch birds. If a rowing event or practice is going on you can watch the crews. Nice parking, restrooms and playground.

Love walking the approximate 3.5 mile trail around the lake. You can walk, bike, or in-line skate. Playground for kids and there are bathrooms & benches located around the lake.

I try to visit this park whenever I am in Sarasota. Great walking paths & restroom facilities. Seeing all of the different types of herons, egrets, etc. is always a nice bonus.

Great facility! It was great for USRowing to host Youth Nationals for the last two years. Clean bathrooms and good food. Other than it being ridiculously humid with sudden rain, and an alligator, it's a great venue.

It's a beautiful green space to enjoy nature in whatever way you please. Bring your dogs, kids, friends, loved ones - everyone can appreciate a little green in their day to boost their mood. Facilities are spread out along the paved paths. At some points, the paths split so you can go on the less traveled one if it's getting a little crowded. My husband loves to come here to rollerblade. We saw a heron catch a snake and eat it whole, too! Wildlife is all around. You'll see the rowers and swimmers practicing here as well. The parking extends along the paths, so you don't have to park just at the beginning right after you turn off the street.

The trail ride (3.4miles) are the park is great if you are looking to take in some sun, nature and not be to exhausted. It’s a rather short ride with two small hills, but it’s perfect for bird watching!

Great area for competition, exercise, bringing the pup or just leisurely enjoying your day. I'd give 5 stars, if I could suggest an upgrade!?

Nathan Benderson Park is very beautiful! It's got plenty amenities for everyone, the kids playground, beautiful sidewalk pathways, places for dogs to play, a big picnic table area with restrooms right there so you don't have to go very far. I highly recommend going there either with your kids or with your family or even by yourself just to enjoy the beautiful surroundings along with the lake and beautiful sunrise!

Great park for families, kids, couples, everyone. Trail is about 3.5 miles per lap. Goos for cycling or running, or any other aerobic exercise. Plenty of picnic tables around,. Parking is easy and plentiful.

Flat, safe place to walk, or bike. The trail around the lake is newly paved and totally flat. There's little shade so it can get warm really fast.

Did the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk today. Nice area with restrooms, paved walkways, play area.. Not enough parking though

Beautiful lake for taxes, and great facilities, including a shiny new tower, but the fields used for event parking are basically mud pits- not fun to slog through! Relatively few mosquitos, though, and fireworks were great. Parking is cheap, but it took 45 minutes to get out after event. Update: while parking for the 5k Turkey Trot was free, you can also park at UTC and take a 5 minute walk. Much more convenient than attempting to enter and exit the island!
