Oversold season passes and day passes, I spent over $1000 on a "UNLIMITED" season pass, and CEARLY that's not very unlimited, it's now going to be impossible to ride the days I want to ride. There's a RACE (15 seconds) at most to grab a parking spot at 6pm on Sunday. OH AND THERE'S OPEN SPOTS FOR PAID PARKING BUT NONE FOR SEASON PASS HOLDERS? So much for "PRIORITY PARKING". And not to mention the bus situation, it's broken. I will be disputing this with my credit card company and you have lost my business for years to come and I know I'm not the only one.

The new parking policy has kept me from getting a season pass this year. I went to snowbird instead and got the bird icon add on. The parking rules are confusing, unclear and so much different information is going around, I’m not going to even bother going and risking a ticket. Also their isn’t enough buses, lines are over an hour long to take the bus. Be better Brighton, you have let the community down, big time.

**they are deleting BAD Google reviews** Been a loyal season pass holder for years. Brighton has RUINED the resort for their loyal pass holders with reserved parking. Absolute JOKE! They have clearly oversold passes. Season pass holders now have PAID over $1k for their unlimited pass are now limited to they days they can get parking. Which seems to be IMPOSSIBLE. I have been on the reserve site at 6pm on the dot multiple weeks in a row and no new reservations open other than PAID PARKING. Money hungry sell outs.

I haven't been here in 20 years, back then I went night skiing, and this most recent time February 2024 was for night skiing as well. The conditions were perfect, including fresh powder, overcast that insulated from bitter cold, and updated lifts. The runs were well lit and the energy on the mountain was exciting and peaceful at the same time.

Brighton is unresponsive '23 to the concerns of season pass holders for the rollout of their parking reservation system. Most would agree that it's going to benefit the riders for ensuring you have a spot when driving, but a complete blackout mid-week is hurting everyone. The unlimited pass comes with UTA access directly to the resort, but without being able to even park early-season you need to essentially take a day off work or buy a $5 ticket just to begin your access. I've left a 1* review because after spending 3 years away from the resort and entering 3 years total (2x the price from 2017), I cannot get a response from the resort about switching my season pass to credits for day tickets or a refund. Congratulations IKON, you won.

LOVE IT! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Brighton! The snow was fantastic, and the charming little groves added a unique touch. However, parking proved challenging, often difficult to secure a spot.

The mountain itself is a great beginner mountain. The areas off to the sides of the main section were great with plenty of snow between the trees. The main trails see a lot of traffic and were mostly skied out. Which for the price of a ticket was disappointing. This was the most crowded of the resorts we visited with a significant wait in lift lines (for reference we went on a Monday during presidents weekend). We went to two other mountains during the holiday weekend and never waited in a line once. The parking situation is a mess to say the least. Make sure to plan ahead and reserve a spot. This seems to be a great spot to learn for beginners or kids. Nothing wrong with that, but if you’re looking for more challenging terrain & less people I would choose a different mountain (especially for the price).

Don’t miss an opportunity to ski the top of Big Cottonwood canyon. I love this mountain as it has a much more laid back vibe than the touristy Park City resorts. Folks come here to ski and snowboard, not to take glam selfies of their $5,00 coat and beanie. Lessons and rentals are available. Just go here. You won’t regret it.

Great ski school, and a great place to learn to ski( cause most of Brighton is very flat). I used to thoroughly enjoy Brighton,However now that I’m an advanced skier Brighton just seems like a huge bunny hill, with teens smoking pot. Countless times, just today, I saw snowboarders walking and skiers including me pole pushing on flat spots. The flat grade of Brighton definitely doesn’t help on pow days, as the combination of flat terrain and plenty pow equals a lot of walking and pole pushing. there are a couple lifts that access harder terrain however these areas are on the flatter side aswell when it comes to double blacks. Most of the lifts are quads and fast so that’s a plus. The parks are good for the most part but sometimes they are a bit awkwardly built. However they are one of the only resorts in Utah that have night skiing, so that’s a plus.the food selection is average, but the lodge isn’t big enough and getting a seat during lunch hours is hopeless. The parking lot isn’t big either, and is definitely the smallest parking lot of the ski resorts in the salt lake area. In conclusion if your looking for a good place to teach your kids how to ski, this is a great option, if your ok with them inhaling the smell of pot all day, might as well get them hooked early right? I’d take any other of the salt lake ski resorts over Brighton any day.

This was our first trip to Salt Lake/Park City. I have been skiing but my husband and son have not. After asking around the best place to learn to ski for the first time, Brighton was recommended. Some of the slopes were not open where we were staying. It was a scenic drive and out of the way ski resort. Smaller, family friendly, we instantly felt at home. The price was great and included a rental. My son loved it and wanted to come back to go again. And my husband who was afraid due to a prior injury, the instructors were patient, and gave him the confidence he needed. They both want to come back! I also took a lesson with Dave Wasek. Definitely recommend. I had been skiing before so needed some refresher, but after my lesson I feel confident to go out on my own and build on the skills we reviewed. What a wonderful day of skiing!

Good skiing. The hosts were phenomenal. When my daughter’s skis were accidentally taken home by another family, the resort staff was so accommodating and helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure our day was not ruined. They were also incredibly helpful when my son got altitude sickness on our first day. Ski school was also great. My kids both learned a lot.

I've been going to Brighton Resort for 4 seasons now. Hands down the best, most family friendly resort. I've had 3 of my kids do ski lessons there. Over time my kids have gained so much confidence, have progressed in their ski skills and just rocked the slopes. Proud mom here!!! If you're thinking of doing lessons, don't go to Park City. I got two free "all day" lessons for my two sons to learn to snowboard through the EPIC School Pass and the instructors just wasted their time and mine. Brighton's instructors are hands on and will get your kid to the next level. The Ski School staff has always helped me out and answered any questions I've had. If you're looking for great instructors, Slade is the man. He does a lot of free style and is just very personable and helped my son break some of his ski habits. For kids ages 3-5, Rochelle, Natalie and Christina have been great too! Overall, a great place to ski. Anytime I have ever been on the lift, I have only ever met super nice people that just want to have a good time.

Great skiing! Not the best snow this year but still fun. Lifts are kinda slow and stop a lot but that’s fine. Beware of weed smoking because it flourishes here. Also one guy asked for toilet paper. Would recommend.

Great resort for all skill levels. More locals than the tourist resorts. Good deals on lift tickets. Recommend paid reserved parking on weekends as the lots fill up fast. Highest annual snowfall ever recorded this year. Greatest snow on earth!

Great ski resort in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The vibe is quite chill and relaxed. Parking could be better, but they back up onto protected land so there isn't much that can be done about that. All the basic services, including equipment rentals, are available at a reasonable price point. Slopes are generally well groomed, lifts well maintained, and all the staff are super friendly.

PROS: good snow and terrain, good variety with challenging runs, good upkeep/grooming, friendly employees, decent prices. CONS: always way too over-crowded.

This is the best ski resort in the area! After researching and speaking to locals, Brighton was the best option for ski school in a family-friendly environment that was the most affordable than anywhere else. Parking is free, but get there early as it gets crowded by 9am. They start lessons for kids from age 3, and the instructors love what they do and are so patient with the kids. Our son's instructors, Mary and Stone, are gems! Lessons last 2 hours at a time. I took a beginner snowboarding lesson with Coluby and he was great. He gave me the tools and confidence I needed to get on the slopes. Shoutouts to Matt and Lewis at the registration desk. They made us feel like friends rather than tourists. The lodge food has a variety of options, including vegetarian, that is reasonably priced. It was worth the scenic 1-hour drive from Park City(overpriced and too corporate) and I would do it again.

We love skiing at Brighton, one of the least crowded and cheapest ski resorts in the area. They also offer night skiing, which is awesome. I took a lesson year which was over $100 cheaper than my lesson at Park City and thought it was a better lesson. All around great resort.

Awesome ski resort! It’s a great place, specially for beginners (like me). There is a lot of space, and not so many people, so you can feel free to try your best (and fall..) and go fast. In the middle of the week there is no line to the gondola so you don’t need to wait at all. The view is amazing, all the era is so beautiful, and you can stop on your way to the resort to travel a little bit. The restaurant in the resort is beautiful, the food was nice. We went there after having one day at park city, and I liked Brighton more!

Best skiing! Great for entry level and advanced skiers both. Service was absolutely best I've had, and I've been to many ski resorts. They also offer amazing pricing where you can bring two children under 10 for free with paying adult. I highly recommend Brighton!

Brighton is one of the cheapest ski resorts in the SLC area now. To be fair, that's not saying much. A day ticket now at any of these resorts can easily be $160+. I like the amount of trails, lifts, and area coverage that Brighton has. As they are pretty popular as of recent years, I would make sure to reserve a parking spot with their new system, or else you may not get to ski. I'm going to have to dock some points for customer service however, as I tried calling multiple times and nobody picked up. It took them another day or two to respond after I contacted them through other methods. I had intended on skiing with a buddy with an Ikon pass, but after I had already purchased my lift ticket he informed be that there was a blackout date and he couldn't go. As I live out of town and live on a budget Brighton is a difficult drive for me. Brighton informed me that they don't issue refunds, even when things like this happen. They did however give me a voucher for another lift ticket this year, which I'm not sure I'll be able to make. This was the one ski trip I had planned for the year and am able to fit in my busy schedule. I probably should've just stuck to Beaver mountain as it's closer to me and tickets are much cheaper.

Family had a great time at Brighton! The slopes and snow were awesome. Everyone working there was kind and helpful- especially mountain hosts Matt and Heidi who helped us at the end of the day with getting down the mountain and giving great recommendations for the area (their kindness was one of the highlights of our trip). Main fault was that we were unable to make parking reservations and the buses were always packed full and long routes to be in full gear or tired at the end of the day

I love this mountain. There is a great balance between groomed and ungroomed trails. The season is super long, and the people are great. Just pay attention to the canyon updates. Not a complaint, but mid-mountain requires a lot of skating/poles.

Of course the greatest skiing in america, but in addition the Thanksgiving meal at the Millicent lift, prepared by chef Jeff was top-notch Gourmet delicious! Thanks so much!

This was our first time snowboarding so we booked a class and it was well worth it! The instructors were great and everything went smoothly. The snow was soooo powdery and amazing. We had so much fun and will be recommending Brighton to our out of town family and friends when they visit.

Went here for night skiing and what a delight! They had several runs open and I think about 4 lifts. Had a small little park area as well. If I was a local, this would definitely be a regular spot for me. Cool views of Park City from the one lift. Parking seemed kinda crazy though with people parking a mile or 2 down the road.

Beautiful mountain with night skiing and riding, close to solitude so you can do both in one day. You won't get there on the road if it's snowing bad. The bus service is best if you get on in midvale don't try any other stops close to the mountain the bus is always full. Traffic is slow.

Best ski resort I’ve been to so far. My family loves this resort. The trails are great, plenary of runs for all levels of skiers. And the snow is amazing, not sure what it is, but the snow here is unmatched.

I feel Brighton is a very good value for the price and it is a great place for kids to learn to ski. Normally my rating would be a 10 but I had the absolute worst experience getting there on Saturday March 11th. It took us four hours to get there from Sandy. On a normal day it would be a 40 minute drive from our home. We left our house at 7 AM which is two hours before the resort opens. It took us four hours to step foot on the resort. The worst part is the parking lot was full so we had to park down the street and walk for one hour. With two little kids that’s ridiculous. I know Brighton cannot expand its parking lot, but there are things you could do like sell each parking stall, so somebody knows whether or not they can park a car before they even attempt to go up the canyon. Luckily, the wait time for the chairlift was very short, and we were able to get a lot of runs in which made up for the time wasted. The best part was Brighton had employees making sure each chairlift was completely full with guests, which made the wait times very short. I was really happy to see that. In the past it’s every person for themselves, and most chair lifts are never completely full and the lines are long.

Snowbird quality at 2/3 the price. Incredible powder, many working lifts, no frills but good lodge/food at decent prices. Relatively easy parking. Crowd is super nice. Staff is super nice.

The people here are the best. I love my coaches Eric and Curt. The gentleman working at the repair shop simply gave me his poles after learning I lost mine. It’s my first time in Utah and Brighton, and I’m filled with joy and gratitude because of these wonderful individuals 🥰

Love Brighton, but this review is for a private snowboarding lesson with Slade. I was stuck on the intermediate/advanced skill plateau for a couple seasons.Taking 2 private lessons with Slade was a game changer. He was able to pinpoint both my strengths and weaknesses, and gave me lots of awesome tips to fix my bad habits. I’m amazed how much my riding has improved in such a short time. Also Slade’s stoke vibe is super infectious, exactly what you want from your snowboarding instructor. Would definitely recommend!

Boot check!!!!! We had the best of time learning to ski with Julian!! He was so sweet! I would have not been able to enjoy my day skiing if it wasn’t for his lesson! He made me feel confident going down the bunny hill! I was feeling like a pro after his class!! Definitely want to come back and take lesson #2 with Julian soon!

The staff is awesome! Not Hoity-toity, Not sure if it is but it feels like a privately family owned operation, the runs are awesome and the food was overpriced but expected, but the good thing is it was hot and fresh, really fun vibes.

Nice small ski resort. Tough getting there on the weekends, but overall nice atmosphere. Lots of people tailgate and cook out in the parking lot. We got lucky with parking but seems like typically this could be tough if you go mid morning. Probably good to get there early or late. The terrain parks have something for everyone and the lift lines were short. It also seemed like one of the more snowboard friendly resorts. Will definitely ski/snowboard here again.

Hands down my favorite ski resort. It's just the best!! The night skiing is arguably the best part for me. It's too good!! I've done demo ski days here and those are fantastic as well. Good pricing, too!! Food here is great. I've had burgers at the Alpine Rose and Molly Greens and, chicken tenders and fries ar Alpine Rose, and a pizza and wings ar Molly Greens and it's just delicious. Highly recommend! For summer, the hiking trails here are awesome! Lakes Mary and Catherine usually receive heavily foot traffic but if you go beyond these lakes towards Sunset Peak or Wolverine, you'll find more solitude. The views from the top are exquisite!

One of, if not the best, mountains in Utah. With a family oriented experience and terrain all levels of riders can enjoy Brighton is not a mountain you'll want to miss.

  • 5/5 Betsy S. 1 year ago on Google
Great ride on a sunny, Sunday morning! Perfect temperature, traffic not too busy yet. Stopped in for a nice cup of freshly made Mountain Mocha. Split a wonderful blueberry muffin and enjoyed conversation and catching up with some very good friends. The autumn leaves & mountainside vegetation colors have begun to change in pockets. You couldn't really ask for much better to sooth the soul! The last day of the Sunday Market season was well attended. Picked up some locally made salsa.

Cool resort, the parking crew is quite rude though. Can’t give any direction without being demeaning/condescending. Seems like they lack customer service skills or the training on being polite to guests. Hopefully your experience is better than ours.

Long time family pass holder. We were pretty upset early on with the reservation system. I have come around after experiencing the ease of getting up the canyon and the lack of stress involved. Back to loving Brighton! Snow sports school is great too.
