Solvang is one of the small and beautiful town I ever visited 1. You can park car near visitor center - it’s free parking 2. You can cover the town by walk 3. Visit Solvang windmill, pastrie shops, Old mission Santa ines, coffee shops etc 4. Must visit Danish Mill Bakery for multiple options 5. Take lot of pictures at street

Beautiful little town with Danish architecture and culture. There are many stores to collect memorabilia. Loved the Danish pastries, coffee and ice creams/gelatos. Park at some place and walk around the whole day exploring the town. Some stores like the ones for dolls, pride stores, hat stores etc are really cute for collectors while bakeries are great too. Refresh yourself with the local food and drinks than packaged stuff. All the walking will burn the calories anyways. 😀 Very camera-friendly place!

I mentioned seeing Solvang on TV to a shoe store vendor( they were in the episode)when Huell Hauser visited many many moons ago. Happy to say in the segment with Huell Hauser the shoe from the store is still there. This little town is happy, colorful and full of good tasting food. Good news the parking is easy to find and your walk around the city will get you a good 5000 steps easily. We made a quick stop to the mission church and found a lot of cool things to read and look at. There was this beautiful field that you can walk around in, but we did not have enough time to walk around the field. I do recommend checking it out, maybe get another 5000 steps in.

The visitor center is located in the middle of the town. Restrooms are clean and bright. All way is for pedestrians, so people can take easy to walk around. You can find some interesting stuff in information desk. However, the parking lots is full in the weekend. You can try park in the elementary school 2 mins away fyi.

Solvang is a charming little town close to the Bay area. A must visit to experience wonderful Danish food, cute scenery and go back in time. The couple of blocks in downtown Solvang are mesmerizing. Loved tasting Danish ice cream, bakery 🧁. Loved waffles and strawberry boats at Dansk Bageri Kafe! So much delicious food!! Many photogenic spots and photo stops. Definitely stroll along downtown to savor the beauty from Netherlands including the windmills. Parking is easier near the visitor center. Holiday decorations adds even more cheer to the town.

Solvang is a beautiful town well known for its Danish style architecture, museum, wineries, Danish bakery, art exploring - rich in heritage and culture. I would suggest at least half a day spending here roaming around the streets enjoying the beauty of this town, dining in tasty resturants.

Small little obscure building that houses a lot of maps and brochures of what to see in Solvang. The staff member we spoke there was super friendly and gave us some great stops to see during our visit. She even marked down when the different museums would be open and cost for them. If needing help getting around Solvang and trying to figure out what to see, the make sure to stop here.

A beautiful small town along the pacific coast featuring Denmark style and traditions. Thought a little bit too commercialized and over developed, still it's a great place to visit, have fun, walk around to feel Danish culture. The visitor center has lots of information, the central Anderson Park is nice to rest, the sweets are good to eat(warning...easy to eat too much!), and the windmills are typical symbol for the town. The city also has many historical buildings, even a small museum. There are plenty of free parkings here, on the streets or in the parking lot. Worth to stop by and enjoy the walking and shopping.

Stop in for a visit to the center!! We got a beautiful song on the accordion! The man is very knowledgeable about the area and gave us so many recommendations for what to see and things to do and the best picture spots! Absolutely worth a visit and a chat!

A beautiful town with a Danish Architect touch, throughout town you will see a variety of shops, restaurants, and public parkings. most of the visitors prefer to walk through the town and visit museums, shops, and places.

If you drive by why not. But don’t expect too much. It’s more a Disnelylandish version of Denmark. To many Danish bakeries with only selling sweet stuff. No real danish bread or smørrebrød (Sandwiches). So ok for a picture stop and some sweets, but not more.

This place in California seems to have been lifted straight away from Denmark! Conceived and built by 3 Danish immigrants in 1911, the town has been maintained exactly like a Danish town with streets, windmills, bakeries, restaurants, shoe shops, parks, trolley buses, townhall etc which will make you smile! A trolley bus will take you around the important landmarks of this town. All in all a delightful experience!
