SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES!!! I came into this little cafe because my date recommended it, and she had a point! The coffee here is flavorful and rich, and the teas and pastries they have here are also very good. Most importantly, the ambience of Balrog Cafe is so calm and quiet, I was able to really appreciate the cafe's music playing in the background. Please come to this cafe! And if you work at Balrog and read this, thank you for being so hospitable! Love it!

01/19/2020 Overall description: Super chill place. They roast their coffee beans on-site. Soft music is played as ambient noise. The service is great. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Each table (except the island) has a nearby electrical outlet!!! I don't know if they do it when it's busy but they will bring your drink to your table. The employee who served my party was an awesome and super cool dude. I highly recommend this place and hope they are able to stay in our community. Design: They have a nice open floor plan layout but that means there's a lot of unused floor space, and I think they could use more tables inside (from a business perspective trying to maximize space), but that would take away from the nice open feel. My order: Black sugar tea The black sugar tea isn't as sweet as tea drinks at other Asian places; the black tea also has a very distinct and unique flavor. It took me a few sips to get used to the flavor, but I do like it.

This listing is not accurate. This is not a cafe, only a coffee bean roasting business. Cannot purchase anything here and there are no drinks. All other images are out of date.

I've given Balrog a few shots, and its... just okay. Anything espresso based, and under milk, is usually fine. If you're a flavored latte person, it's certainly a better choice than sbux. Each time I've ordered a pourover, however, the filter was never rinsed, resulting in a paper-y taste.Which is a shame, because the actual roast seems like it has something to it. I look forward to trying the LB location, hopefully with better results. Also to note, if you plan on tipping, I'm not sure if their sale system is set up for it-- bring cash for the tip jar!

Coffee was very good. I ordered the hot vanilla latte. No bitter after taste. Staff was helpful in selecting something I would like. Almost 5 for a small, which i wouldn't spend everyday, but nice treat and worth it.

A wonderful place to go and study -always quiet and almost serene- where the music they play really adds to the laid-back atmosphere. There only seems to be 3 servers throughout the week, so if you come often, they'll come to recognize you. The coffee and pastries on sale taste great.

Service: 10/10 Coffee cup: 9/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 This is a great specialty coffeeshop in this area where there is not much of local third-wave coffeeshops. I got the Kenyan pour over (V60) which had a great winey/slightly blueberry taste to it. They also roast and sell their own beans as well. As for the atmosphere, it has a modern stylish look and would be a great place for hanging out with friends and working/studying (a lot of plugs). The outside area is also good for chilling and having conversations. My only complaint about the environment would be that the chairs don't have a back and it would be hard to work more than a few hours there. As for the service, the barista was really nice and engaging. He brought the coffee over to me and also suggested me which coffee to get based on my preference. I also got 20% off my first purchase!! Definitely recommend going to this local specialty coffeeshop.

Great local coffee shop. Very friendly, personable service. Got a carmel latte and it was delicious! Way better than some of the coffee I've had at Starbucks. Definitely coming back!

Balrog Coffee provides a spacious and relaxing environment perfect for studying while accompanied by the aromatic and delicious coffee. Balrog offers a variety of high quality coffee especially some of the secret menu drinks such as the Milky Way latte or my personal favorite, the Arroz Con Leche latte. Definitely my go to for a coffee after work or just to hang out with some friends.
