Overpriced Nicaraguan food that is lacking taste. We came to this restaurant about 3 years ago before the area was "gentrified." Back then a plate ran you 12 dollars. Now that the area has totally changed, rent must have gone up, and so did the prices in the menu. The cheapest dish is 15 dollars and it goes up from there. Problem is that for the price, the taste is simply not there. Also, some of the portions aren't so big and the tres leches was served in an aluminum foil container. As nicas say, so jincho! There are far cheaper Nicaraguan restaurants in Miami, with better taste, although the interior of the restaurant is good. However, the loud music playing gives it the atmosphere of a cantina. That's something they can certainly lower, the volume of the music blasting as your trying to peacefully enjoy the somewhat tasteless meal. If you're a tourist strolling through the new Calle ocho who has never had Nicaraguan food, avoid this place. There must be tastier places in the area.

UPDATE NOV 2023: STILL AMAZING!! I come here First Thing when I get into Miami. I’m here for 10 days and I’ve been three times lol. Amazing people, great service, the best food I’ve ever had. I dream of the Carne Asada!! Best Nicaraguan food in Miami!!! The location is amazing (super hip part of town and so close to all the downtown nightlife) and the family who runs the Guayacan has been doing this for literally DECADES, and it shows! Everything is delicious. I literally dreamt about the Carne Asada after eating it. Tender but with a bite, delightfully seasoned with citrus, it will make your mouth water. It's also huge! It was big enough for two meals for me. Amazing bang for your buck here. The pescado/fish in the house cream sauce was absolutely delightfully as well!!! Mmmm I could rave about it for days. Tender and fall apart, with a delicious char from the grill, and a creamy yet light sauce. Seriously in love! The sides were also amazing. Rice and beans were moist and had a light seasoning that let the beans shine. If you love plantains, make sure to try the maduros for something sweet to round off a delicious meal :) Seriously, the Guayacan is the best Nicaraguan food in Miami...loved the welcoming family atmosphere and the delicious food!

We ordered the parrillada for 2 and it was a pretty good portion. The pork and chicken were delicious! Steak was perfectly cooked! Wasn't a fan of the sausage but that's just personal preference. Tostones were on point! Staff is super friendly, everyone was very nice. They have their own parking which is a huge plus when Little Havana is super busy!

Nice place but, attention to food details need improvement. Food was cold and loaded with grease. Prices are high for the food they serve. We ordered the Filete Pescado Xiloa & Soup of the day.

Great and authentic Nicaraguan food, had Tupilapa fish and it was very tasty. I have had other dishes before and they were very tasty. Free parking! In Miami, this is huge!

My wife and I arrived for a late lunch. It was our first experience with Nicaraguan food. The ambience was nice as was the service. I ordered the grilled pork with achiote and it was well marinated. The starting sauces with garlic bread was a nice way to begin lunch. The highlight for us was the Rum Cake pudding, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Sampler Platter is excellent. Cerviche is great. Sangria is superb. Enjoyed it the first time and went back for 2nd visit during our latest trip to Called Ocho.

This restaurant seems confused about its tone. The smell emanating from it attracted me. But the food left something to be desired. Carne asada was overdone. Maduro was delicious. Service was okay. Place could do with a thorough cleaning.

I don’t even know where to begin. It’s been over a decade since the last time I dined here. I had the Lengua en Salsa then and I had it again this most recent time. It was as memorable this time as it was back then. The flavor was rich in its Nicaraguan roots and flavor. OMG! The service was top notch. We had the pleasure of having a gentleman take care of us who has been working there for more than 20 yrs. Don’t miss out on having some of the tres leche with flor de caña!! Let’s just say my family and I can’t stop talking about our experience there and it’s been over a week already! Please give this Miami Treasure a shot.

I ordered some food from their website for delivery. Order was cancelled and I’m down 100$+ when I called and asked about the order they said they don’t even offer delivery nor take payment online yet their website is clearly plastered on every social media site they’re on. Bunch of scammers. I’ll be filing a charge back.

I have been going to this restaurant for yeeeears!! My kids grew up eating at this restaurant because this place was my in-laws favorite restaurant. My daughter is 33yrs old and my son 24, and still this is their go to restaurant in Miami. A must try restaurant if you love authentic Nicaraguan food. Their food quality is intact after all these years, and I love the renovation!

Horrible! I walk in with a group of four and the so called manager claims to be the owners was yelling at the staff .. I asked the very profesional waiter to ask her to see she, . I verbatim heard when she said NO Quiero!! So I got up and kindly asked her to please take that elsewhere. She started yelling at me and said to mind my business.. I am in shock that this happened ! Important to highlight she refused to give me her name she said this is her business and she does whatever she wants…I replied and reminded her that the she is in business because of us…

We enjoyed the food. Nice size food and tastes good. Only compliant is that the bill included tips without indication of that. as a result, we tip twice.

I think they have change a lot , I ask for a medium well carne asada and was well done , that means dry , small portions and the price... super high I will compare with Los Ranchos. My friend ask for a sopa and her bill was for $15

Out of state guest; it’s been 31 years since I had Nicaragua food and let alone Cacao. The host even went above and beyond to tell me of a local store that has Nica goods. My sons loved the food some much they took their time eating. The food was super delicious. The Cacao was exactly how I remember it. The place was super clean and organized

Hadn't been here in so many years. Place has been upgraded from what I remember. Loved the variety of Nicaraguan food available. 😍 the food was delicious. They had baho, even though the menu said sundays only. We went on a Thursday, so I was not expecting them to have it, but I asked, and they did. The staff was super nice and attentive. They also have a kids menu. They have parking, but it can be an issue during busy hours, being that this is off 8th St. and all.

First time visiting Guayacan Miami. Great service from beginning to end. Food was delicious and well presented. Juices are awesome. We ordered cacao and pitaya. We ordered Gallo pinto ( rice with beans ) , carne asada ( charcoal broiled steak ) , tajadas con queso frito ( fried plantain with fried cheese ) and for dessert Buñuelos. Authentic Nicaraguan food. Recommend this place. This is a must visit restaurant. You won’t regret it.

Love this gem of authentic and excellent Nicaraguan food in Little Havana. The Antojitos tray, fish “a la tipitapa”, “Pio quinto” desser, wine and sangria were great too. Free parking and superb service!!

We do not live in the area and thought we would try something new. We were not disappointed!! This cute little local business was amazing!! I had the Xilao and it was amazing. The Jucca fries and the house sauces were delicious. Portions were large for the prices too. If I was local this would be my new favorite

This is a beautiful gem, a family owned and operated local restaurant, beautiful atmosphere, great music, frequented by families, bustling but not loud, and most importantly, the food and service is top notch. The Churrasco and the Grilled Fish Xiloa Style were delicious, with fried green or sweet plantains, rice and beans. It was like eating a feast at home. We will return many times. Thank you!
