Right now, it is 3am, and I have not been able to sleep at all because my neighbor is making so much noise. I have made multiple requests for help from the staff throughout the semester, and nothing has been done to fix this. If you are a grad student or a student who needs to sleep during the week days, you might want to look elsewhere because it seems like the people working here do not care to help, and if you are unlucky and live next to people like I am right now, you will probably have a very difficult time.

Have to walk atleast .35 miles to eat, most of the time. The food that is in the hall is very low quality. Also, the sparty combo deal is a rip off. All you get is cupped noodle, yoplait, and a small water bottle which is worth $2.15 at a store, but a meal plan combo should be worth over $11 worth of food. The dining in the hall is not very good, and there are only 4 options on the menu. Chicken fingers, 5 chicken wings, a small burger the size of a White Castle microwaveable, and a cheese burger. If you want 5 onion rings, itโ€™s around $4 alone. Also, the dining hours are extremely limited. And you can only have 1 combo at spartyโ€™s per day and only one combo per weekend. I hear that next year, they are not going to serve fresh food, so itโ€™s going to be way worse.

If you are trying to live here to avoid wasting money on a dining plan you will be disappointed. Not a bad place to live I guess, but they claim to have a "community Kitchen" . The kitchen is a small room with two stoves to accommodate like a thousand people, so if you plan on living here you pretty much have to get a dining plan or live off of fast food or something like that.

Lived here for 1.5 years. The only advantage of living Owen: Relatively quiet for student dorm Cons 1) Dirtiest water on campus: not only faucet and shower water, but even the filtered water from drinking fountain is yellowish, which MSU asserts it is okay to drink. 2) Poorly managed facilities: 90% chance of getting dirt stain with your white laundry, public kitchen fridge full of rotten foods, awfully out of tuned piano in music practice room, etc. 3) Dining Hall: Because it is an allergen free dining, taste and variety of food are pretty inferior. Visit Shaw or Akers, rather. If you must live on campus, just pay similar amount of money to live alone in a double room in other halls. You could choose that option. +another pros. No roaches. I guess it is because the room is too tiny for the party?

I stayed in Owen Hall during my summer program in the US. Normal school dorm - it was good that it is close to Grand River

Great Location on campus and it has its own dining hall and Sparty's!

My grandson is attending MSU and rooming in Owen Hall. Everything seems to be in order. Rooms are larger than last year's freshman room that he had to share with a roommate. GO SPARTANS!

It'd be nice if the kitchen was renovated, but otherwise it's pretty nice here.

Rooms are like prison, way too much charge to stay, biggest plus point is it's near to campus

Last winter I lived there for six weeks. I really liked it because it's practical of you're a student at MSU. It's not a five star hotel, but it's not uncomfortable
