We rented snorkel gear and boogie boards in July 2022. Megan was incredibly friendly and helpful and provided us with great advice about the best spots where to go snorkelling near Kihei. I recommend Auntie Snorkel to everyone!

Dave was awesome! He set us up on an amazing snorkel tour to Molokini where we saw turtles and an octopus! I highly recommend Auntie Snorkel for booking tours. Very reasonably priced and Dave was super helpful. And yes, that used to be David Bowie's house 😀

We just returned from our vacation to Maui and loved every minute of it!! What was extra great was no sunburns! We rented an umbrella from Auntie Snorkel for the week (which was very reasonably priced) and enjoyed so much wonderful beach time without the awful burns at the end of the day! Dave was awesome! This was our first time to Maui. They got us all fitted for our snorkel gear and was fun to work with. Told us near Kihei beaches to go to. We did have to exchange one snorkel mask as my tube got jammed with sand.. but there was no problem with doing that. Plus we needed a smoothie next door. 😉 I haven't transferred all my photos but saw this guy first day out!! Highly recommend this place for all your rental gear. They truly love what they do. Such a great place! Very quickly rented us surfboards and snorkel gear. The snorkel gear was such such good quality (very rarely fogged, great visibility, everything fit really well) especially for the price. The captain was great - super helpful, really knowledgeable about how the weather/environment affects snorkeling and pointed us to somewhere that ended up being insanely beautiful and, thanks to their advice, very clear. I rented a snorkel, mask, and fins from Auntie Snorkel and it was a great experience. I ordered online about a week before my travel and even though I picked it up a day late they didn't start my week long reservation or charge my CC until I actually got everything in-hand. Scott helped me out and gave me great instructions. The gear functioned perfectly, great quality mask, about as good a seal as you could ever hope for and the snorkel never got water in it, even with diving down to 15' or so and also being in waves. I'm glad I did a rental through Auntie Snorkel vs. purchasing a snorkel set at Costco (and traveling home with it). They gave me a bottle of anti-fog solution which worked great and I also had the ability to swap any components out if something wasn't working or didn't fit right. I highly recommend. We rented a GoPro for snorkeling on 2 separate days while visiting Maui. On the 1st rental day, we got a GoPro7, lifevest and free boogie board! On the second day, we got a new GoPro10 (which was awesome!). The quality of the equipment was excellent, came fully charged and was fully explained to us before we left. We ended up with some amazing photos and videos to show our family back home. Support this locally owned business! The owners are super friendly and full of helpful tips and advice about where to go snorkeling or just Maui in general. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful experience with Auntie Snorkel! The prices are unbeatable, and Megan was so helpful in finding the right fins and floatation device and giving us advice on her favorite snorkeling spots in the area and what days we would have clearest visibility. We visited almost all of the spots she recommended and they were all great! I hope we can return to Kihei again, and if we do we will absolutely use Auntie Snorkel for our beach rental needs.

Just returned back from our first trip to Maui. Rented Boogie Boards for our entire stay and bought masks and some great beach towels. Service was fantastic and Hugh was like a public service rep for the whole island. We'll definitely be going back to Maui and definitely getting all our gear from Auntie 'so-much-more-than' Snorkel

It doesn’t matter what you are renting at Auntie Snorkel’s. They have quality gear reasonably priced. It was also so much easier than wasting precious vacation time running around finding stuff. Cal and Scott are the epitome of local knowledge and planning recommendations. When you stop in, take time to chat — and don't bother gearing up anywhere else. Their prices are solid, the process is extremely efficient, everything is clean and well-maintained. We rented chairs and umbrellas for 2 days and were able to post up on the most beautiful patch of uncrowded shoreline.

I walked in simply to find a beach umbrella, and the lobby was packed with folks renting snorkel gear, body boards, surf boards, etc. Whatever you need for your fun in the Sun adventure, they’ll have it. When it came time to help me I was treated like I was the only customer in the shop, with Scott providing me with top notch customer service… and I was just renting an umbrella! He gave me some great snorkeling recommendations, and told me to call if we had any questions about where to go. This place is the real deal where they take pride in their work and seem to truly go out of their way to provide excellent customer service. When it comes time to book a tour or rent some gear, I’ll know where to go!

Aloha! We rented beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, boogie boards and snorkel sets from Auntie Snorkel for our group of 5 while in Maui. We had so much fun with the gear at our fingertips!!! When we arrived to pick up, Captain Callie was so helpful! She ensured all our gear was a great fit, gave usage tips, sent us off with defogger and a fish guide to use, and even guided us to her favorite spots on the island via a map she sent with us for reference. And we used it! She was very knowledgeable and we left feeling taken care of! 👊 I even booked our snorkel and luau experiences through her. She made it so easy! Great experience from first setting rental up online and the immediate call confirming rental information. Captain Calli was at the shop when went to pick it up and she was helpful and super friendly. Highly recommend going to this place. She also showed us how to attach it to vehicle.

These guys were super easy to deal with. Convenient website offers a discount but they wait to charge you at the store in case you change your mind on what you're renting. This is helpful if you book a ton of stuff and then your VRBO has a few chairs, umbrellas, etc. already. Very friendly in-store service: the guy with the curly hair was animated and a lot of fun while I was in the shop. All other staff were equally as friendly. A cool and casual environment doesn't get in the way of quick and professional service. Mahalo!

Very friendly, local rental place, have to say I’ve been to a lot of beach towns and rented a lot of equipment, and these folks made us feel incredibly welcome like no other. They gave us the rundown of local spots, what to avoid, what to look for, etc. Captain Cal and Laura were super friendly and spent time with us, really walked us through everything. They were totally flexible with policies, and their prices are super fair. All the equipment is in great shape, felt totally new, highly recommend.

Just a shout out to Auntie’s Snorkel, we know how important supporting family owned business is and that is why we chose Auntie’s, we are so glad we did. Both Scott and Dave provided exceptional service and gave some great tips on where to go surfing. We had some amazing days on the water and the online prices are fabulous. We rented paddle boards for a week and they loaded them and strapped them down for me, showing me how to do it myself. We came later for surf boards and Dave knew us by name, that’s personalized service for sure. I would definitely recommend to anyone heading to Kihei and will rent from them again when we return. We recently took a trip to Maui and rented our chairs, umbrella and snorkel gear from here. Equipment was great worked well! We were super impressed they were all so nice and helpful, especially Sarah she gave us some awesome recommendations and we got to see lots of fish and turtles. Equipment was in great condition definitely recommend for all you beach needs.

There should be an option for more than 5 stars. I reserved online which had a discount available to the already cheap prices. So that was a nice bonus. Scott assisted in getting the equipment (snorkel gear and life belts) and even gave advice on a beach to go to in which we decided to listen and went to that beach. We saw lots of yellow tang and other beautiful fish. Even a turtle! We then got some tips from some locals to go to another beach and found a secret gem that I shall not share but I’ll attach a photo of a turtle we saw. (Since you can’t do video) I purchased a waterproof phone case from Auntie snorkel and that was well worth the $20 so I recommend that as well. Thanks Scott for all the help!! We can’t wait to come back! This was a great conclusion to our trip.

We rented our paddle boards and snorkeling stuff since our friends recommended them and they didn’t disappoint! They were super friendly and had such a nice deals. Also they gave us some recommendations about where we could snorkeling. We will definitely rent from Auntie Snorkel again and also recommend them

We booked our snorkel gear for a full week, on-line, way in-advance of our trip to Maui. We were a couple of days late picking up the gear and Scott adjusted the rental price based on the number of days we would actually have the gear. We didn't even have to ask. Captain Kali was fantastic! Auntie Snorkel is a great local shop. Use the online option and you get best prices and no card is charged until you get to the shop and verify what you want and for how long. We rented two paddle boards and 3 snorkel sets. Significantly lower prices than anywhere else and both the paddle boards and snorkel gear was great quality. Captain Kali made sure we knew the conditions and clearly explained what we needed to know. Super friendly place and best deal for paddle boards and snorkel gear.
