A step above the rest. It was take out only. Portions are cooked in large quantity. It was delivered. Typically all these things will lower the quality of the end product but even with all of this going against them, Korai shines. It pushes through, the flavors are intact, vibrant and full. The notes were satisfying. The portions were there.. and the cute little notes was heartfelt. I’m a believer.

Delicious home cooked food. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the daughter who was so warm and welcoming. She explained the menu to me and suggested the Tuesday special chicken roast. I am so grateful I gave it a chance because it’s certainly one of the best chicken dishes I’ve ever had. You can tell the food is home cooked and fresh, and the portions were extremely generous. I would certainly say this was one of the best meals I have had in jersey city and if I lived in journal square I’d probably visit every day.

3.7 stars rounded up Super authentic halal ethnic food. This was our first time eating Bangladeshi food, so I can't judge the quality compared to other similar restaurants but it was generally very good. A few warnings: 1) they leave the bones in for most food, 2) the food is VERY spicy and 3) NO dine-in. We went without knowing any of this and the owner was very accommodating and she showed us how to order food and gave us a heads-up about bones, etc. I post photos of what we ate. The rice pudding was ok but the mango yogurt was amazing. Savory food was generally ok, we got goat, fish and chicken. Kabab was very disappointing. Unfortunately we didn't like the mashes/appetizers (they were insanely spicy and they had way too much onion for our taste). We probably won't go back but again, definitely worth trying and amazing service.

Oh my God! It is great! The food is great! If I would eat this every day, I would think I'm in heaven! Spicy, but very good. The wait is very worth it. The hospitality is awesomely. I like this place a lot. LOVED IT! Too bad I can't give 30 stars.

Take out - delivery via apps only | order via phone call is cheaper. After seeing many great reviews, decided to try one of the rare Bangladeshi restaurants in North NJ, even though I live 45 minutes away from it. When you call in to order or order via website, an estimated pick up time is given, as they need certain time to prep and cook the order. But they are very diligent to honor the given pick up time. I ordered the chicken korma, goat biryani and fried hilsha for pickup 2.5 hours later. I was happy to see they do not compromise on their dishes, as they provide no option to modify any dish or adjust spice level. Being Bangladeshi, I could tell the authenticity of each of the dish. All of them were cooked just like as they were made back home. Hilsha was fried to perfection. Korma was tender and creamy. Goat biryani was moist. Though I felt all dishes were tiny bit salty. I also got to meet the owner Noori, one of nicest person. She was very welcoming, thanked me for driving so far and gave me a complimentary Aloo Bhorta (mashed potatoes). She also suggested me to order via phone for cheaper bill. She said they might start the buffet again once its safe for customers post pandemic. I am really glad to have given this place a try. Happy to know home food only few miles away, that is tasty and authentic.

Authetic Bangladeshi food in Jersey city, probably only one nearby. Food quality is really amazing and highly delicious, the buffet was great before Covid. However only giving 4 stars because of the price, its a bit too high for the food. Otherwise highly recommended restaurant.

I was supposed to eat and then go back to study for my interviews but here I am fighting food coma. If you are reading this please help me get me water because I can’t move after eating this. Jokes apart, hands down the best food I have had in recent times. I ordered way too much for one person . Chicken biryani, goat biryani and rohu fish . Everything was perfect . Also, please read the cute little notes in the photos.

Wow! I have high standards and this completely blew my mind. Everything from the delivery to the packaging and little hand written notes to the food made me so HAPPY! What an excellent excellent establishment I will certainly rave to my friends and family. I will definitely be ordering again and again and again, I am excited to try your entire menu!!! What a delicious Goat Biryani, unbelievable! I also really enjoyed the aloo bhartha and the begun bhorta ! So fresh, not oily, and so flavorful. Excellent job! Truly wonderful! Many thanks ! -Donia Edit: Also love how they state gluten free or vegetarian friendly on Ubereats !! Great gluten free options !

Our first time to Korai Kitchen. Our order was taken by a very, friendly, polite and knowledgeable staff member. While waiting for our food to be prepared, Nuri (sorryif i misspelled your name), the owner came out of the kitchen, greeted and spoke to us for a few minutes. The personal touch was great! A very pleasant experience. We will order from them again, and look forward to when dine-in is available again

I have had their goat curry few times now. Incredibly tender, perfect blend of spices in the curry. Highly recommended. The customer service is also 5 stars, is run by the daughter of the chef, she explained the dishes and portions in detail. Am going to be a regular.

My 2 year old boy just loves Aunt’s biriyani. We miss the buffet, it felt like we went to a Bangladeshi home for lunch or dinner. In my opinion, this is the best Bangladeshi restaurant in east coast which represents the authentic taste. Highly recommend to any fellow Bangladeshi traveling in NJ or Non-Bangladeshi who wants to explore a new cuisine!

This is probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The flavors are incredible and spice level is absolute perfection. It was our first time ordering from them so they let us try this potato mash spice pot to mix into everything 🤌🏼 Also, they were so sweet and informative when we picked up our meal. Pro-tip: call in your order instead of ordering online to save some $$$. We just finished leftovers from last night and I want to order again for dinner.

Absolutely delicious. Some of their dishes, like their mixed vegetables or their fried eggplant, are just masterpieces: it's hard to believe these simple ingredients could be cooked in such a way to make them better than the dishes of much more expensive and famous restaurants. This place is an absolute jewel: I hope they keep their quality and continue being successful for a very long time.

First time eating here and I can’t wait to go again! The staff was amazing and gave us really great recommendations as it was our first time trying Bangladeshi food. I got the chicken korma and it was delicious. I am not very good with spice and this was just perfect

Incredibly authentic Bengali food as the other reviewers have pointed out. Ordered a delivery of an entree for two people using their website. The amount would have been ample for three people. And the quality is just out of the park. Will definitely order from here again in the future.

Got a take out of Chicken Biryani. It was an interesting different than usual taste, it is not full of spices and gravy, it has subtle flavors and freshness. Worth exploring other dishes they have to offer. The quantity is generous, good for two people.

Genuinely Yum and Original ❤️ Bengalis/Non-Bengalis , doesn’t matter. All non-vegetarians, especially Fish lovers, must try. Heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the mother-like woman who cooks every single dish every single day by her own hands 🙏🏻

I ordered takeout and had a great experience with Korai Kitchen. I got my food quickly and they even informed about how the side dishes are normally eaten when I revealed it was my first time trying this cuisine. I ordered the 2-person entree chicken korma and an egg curry which came with two large portions of rice and some accompaniments. My favorite was the egg curry but I also liked the potato dish which is supposed to be eaten with the chicken. I highly recommend trying this restaurant if you haven’t already. Do remember to order over the phone if you’re planning to pick up for a lower price and to support the restaurant.

Wow, just tried here for the first time and the food was amazing! I loved all the spices and flavors to everything. Our meals came with this lovely soup and a side of delicious hash. Plus the rice pudding! Yumm! They also wrote a thank you note :) I can't wait to order here again!

Ordered here with my friends; we didn’t realize it was takeout only but the owner accommodated us knowing it was our first time. We even got to meet her mother, the chef. They are such sweet people who live up to their reputation of authentic, home-cooked Bengali food. We loved it so much. We ordered chicken korma, chicken coconut curry, beef curry and a few other things. I forget the name of it but one of their fish dishes was also amazing. Everything was so fragrant, the meat was so tender, the flavor was not too salty or bland (literally just right). The pulao complimented the chicken korma so well. My bengali friends said it reminded them so much of their mothers. We will definitely be coming back for more!!! This place now holds a special place in our hearts

Wonderful takeout experience. Ordered Beef curry, Fish curry, and Alu vorta. It reminded me of authentic home made Bangladeshi food. I was visiting Jersey City from Denver and the greetings and welcome that I have received from Noori and Aunty was wonderful. Thank you and wishing lots of success for Korai Kitchen's future journey. 💗

Take out only for now - I can’t wait for them to reopen their dine in service / buffet. Do order in advance before picking up as they have been very busy with online/phone orders and the owner (Nur-E) was very honest about a long wait for walk in orders. Knew them because of “Take out with Lisa Ling”, they are a mother-daughter business and they are super friendly. They wrote small notes and messages for each take out order and also gave us small complimentary appetizer for a try-out. Now to the food - we walked in without knowing the rules, but Nur-E was really nice and she recommended us a few dishes that is more readily available for us. Despite being very busy, she made sure that she took care of each customer that arrives at her door. We ordered Fish Curry Rohu and Goat Curry, one with white rice and another with Palao rice as recommended, they were both really good. The flavors of the curry were just on point and goes so well with the rice. Very generous portions of the rice too! All in all happy with the meal - thank you and keep up the great work!

Home-made food away from home. This is our go to place. No occasions needed. Host are super friendly. Nothing to add regarding food. Hundreds of review says it all.

The staff was really friendly and helpful! I ordered the chicken biryani a la carte and it was incredible! The rice was light and fluffy and super flavorful. The chicken was also well marinated and not dry. We also tried a side of the aloo bhorta and highly recommend it. Food overall not too spicy :)

This place has great food! The lady who took our order was knowledgeable and very accommodating. It's family owned and the food is home cooked. They currently don't have indoor dining but they do have a very good take away menu. Their Tuesday special was chicken roast and it was delicious, as was their goat. Will definitely come again!

Delicious, super high quality, homemade Bangladeshi food! My only complaint is when the meal is over.
