Our neighbor across the street had these guys do a new deck and custom bench and they were working on it a couple weeks ago the day after a HUGE snow storm had dumped 18 inches of snow overnight. Our snow blower was dead and my husband was out of town, so I was struggling to shovel our huge driveway by hand on my own when Kaden (sp?) came out to his truck to get something and saw me. Without a word, he grabbed a shovel, grabbed his colleague Collin and they both came over and helped me shovel my driveway before getting back to their own work. It would've taken me all day by myself and my back was already killing me! They were SO kind and friendly and they weren't even dressed for the job but they did it with a smile and soaking wet feet anyway. If this is what these employees do for someone who isn't even a customer, I can only imagine how they act on an actual job! I did peek over the fence at their finished work a few days later and it's marvelous! If I EVER need any of the services they provide, there is no one else I will even think about calling. BRAVO, Black Rock! Thanks for hiring such great people and for doing great work as well! You have a customer for life.

Overall, the work was ok and we are satisfied with the outcome but there were some issues. The roof line on one side was lower than the other and not square making it difficult for the soffit guy to make the metal line up nicely. The communication from the company could use some improvement. The owner came out in February to give us a bid then when work started, there was no design discussion. We just had to watch and see how it turned out. I had to frequently ask for updates and find out when workers would be coming back. The project that should have taken a couple of weeks took 2.5 months. Accumulatively, throughout the project, there were weeks with no work being done. Due to the extended time it was taking, we elected to fix the drywall holes that the electrician had to make inside ourselves. They did give us a reduction on the overall price for doing this. We understand there is a labor shortage but this is where the communication comes into play and perhaps, not overbooking your jobs.

Black Rock did an excellent job at extending our deck. I would highly recommend them. The guys were great to work with and answered any questions or comments we had. Thank you for a job well done!

Great experience from the estimate to completion of the deck project. Very organized and professional team including interactions with the owner, construction crew, and office support. Excellent workmanship. Regular updates and communication about the job status. Once the job was started it was completed in a timely matter. The construction area was cleaned up at the end of each day. Overall quite impressed and I highly recommend Black Rock Decks!

We have just experienced a complete replacement of our almost 40-year-old costly-to-maintain wooden deck by Blackrock Homes & Decks. The best way to describe their work is “True Professional Quality”. From the original meeting during the estimating, through the observation of how their crew did the work and our admiration of the final product, we are impressed.  Adding to the positive experience, their client communication procedures and practices were excellent and helped us get what we wanted.  Two minor change orders, one originated by us, were priced fairly and perfectly executed.  We could not be happier!

I'm happy with my new deck and steps. Black Rock removed my old sagging deck and the steps outside my french doors and built new ones from the ground up. The team worked quickly but still did quality work. They clearly were very experienced! The only thing I would have them improve is their communications between the deposit date and the date they arrived to do the work. That may have been a result of how busy they were at the time. They did respond to my questions promptly but just did not reach out to me much to keep me informed. I still recommend them highly due to their quality work. Thank you for my new deck and steps!

Great to work with. Staff and employees are very friendly and professional. The guys actually stopped to help our neighbor that had a broken wrist and was struggling to shovel the snow in her driveway. Happy we chose them. Would recommend Black Rock Homes to anyone!

They did a great job on our deck and we are very satisfied! They tore out our old wooden deck and installed a new deck with trex and cinch railing. They also did a great job turning a window into a door for access to the deck. All of the workers were very professional and they did a great job of updating us as they moved to new parts of the project. It did end up taking longer than we expected, but we were working around stairs being delivered and winter weather. The workmanship was high quality and they were very thorough throughout the whole project. We will definitely look into using them again for future projects!

Owners were very helpful and did a great and professional job. The installers were wonderful and were very helpful with anything we would ask them. We are very satisfied and will enjoy our deck for years to come.

They cleaned up old garden boxes and steps from back door to patio, then added additional concrete to expand existing patio, installed new Trex landing and steps and awning with lights and fan. There was some delays in starting due to COVID 19, but once they started, they worked fast and were very thorough. The quality of work was superb and we couldn't be happier with the result. Prices were reasonable and entire job did not exceed initial quote. Would highly recommend these guys and used them again if needed.

Blackrock homes removed and rebuilt two beautiful decks for us! From initial consult to construction, even coordination with fascia and electrical work, the project was seamless and ran like a well-oiled machine. Blackrock replaced my existing deck with a larger mist nicer deck! They were responsive from my initial inquiry and patient with the delays on our part. Once the trigger was pulled they were constantly updating me with the timeframe and once work commenced it was done professionally, quickly and with great care! I highly recommend and actually have already!

The Blackrock crew that installed our deck was the best. Their attention to detail was impressive! Everything is square, plumb, level, and looks great. They were respectful and stayed on task, completing the project while working in less than ideal weather. Their bid was lower than most of their competitors. We give them our high recommendation.

Great experience with Blackrock Homes; I had a redesign of an existing but incomplete deck and their execution to fix the flaws and finish the rails and stairs turned out great (and fast); communication was excellent from Amber throughout. Shae answered all our questions so we could plan ahead and the crew also was accessible and similarly communicated well and escalated(double checked) with Shae and Amber promptly when we asked some new questions. Finished ahead of my own timeframe expectations; highly recommend!

Black Rock Homes has completed two different deck projects for us totaling approximately 1,500 feet of Trex Transcend decking. The first project was completed in 2020 for a total 1,225 feed of decking on two levels with a rain escape system and railing plus a large stairway linking the two levels. We liked their work so much the first time that we hired them again in 2021 to complete a 275 square foot extension to the original deck which was completed in 2022. We found them to be very professional and their craftsmanship was excellent. They installed a number of very cool features that added a great final touch to the project. There were two different crews for the two projects and both crews did an exceptional job. We also enjoyed working with Shae both during planning and bidding. I would highly recommend Black Rock Homes for any deck project.

I am very pleased with my Black Rock experience from start to finish. Shae, Amber, and Phill & crew were very easy to work with and my deck turned out spectacular! They kept to schedule and quoted cost, and communication was excellent. I’ve had bad experiences with contractors in the past but working with Black Rock was a breath of fresh air and I highly recommend them.

Black Rock Homes built a deck with a pergola over the summer for me, and I am so happy with them and the work they did! Chris was a pleasure to work with at every stage and responded within a day to every question. His design recommendations were what I was trying to imagine and I never felt like my changes or questions were anything less than respected. They were very professional and when I had a horrible tragedy in my personal life this company was not only professional but extremely compassionate and considerate. I have never had a company care about my personal situation like they did. They worked around my schedule, changes to our plans and still provided an on-time, beautiful patio cover.
