😠 If you are not depressed when you get there you will be by the time you leave. They cancel or dont even bother to show up for 90% of scheduled appointments and will find any made up reason to make it the veterans fault. It is not always the doctors that are the problem, it is the support staff, rude... People often mention care, service, health, Reno,

I stopped using this place year's ago. I'm using outside providers now and receive much better healthcare and customer service. They actually treat me like a human. This is an update. Notice how they haven't replied to this review in the several years it's been up! Everyone giving this place a 5 star rating is smoking crack, or works there. They've neglected me for decades now with bureaucracy. I will never recover from the damage they've done to my life. Mentally, physically, financially there isn't one aspect of my life that hasn't been negatively influenced. It's been really difficult finding a way back when the ones who are supposed to help send you away multiple times without it. That's painful, because they think you are disposable and that everyone needs you too be disposable, but they don't realize that I'm not disposable and I happen to like myself and will stand up for myself. You can use them if you want to, but remember you were warned. They all still work there.

They cancel or dont even bother to show up for 90% of scheduled appointments and will find any made up reason to make it the veterans fault. It is not always the doctors that are the problem, it is the support staff, rude and incompetent. They just dont care. Some doctors dont show up or cancel appointments that veterans wait 4-6 months for. It is disgusting that they cannot be counted on for veterans BUT the VA employees are very happy taking advantage of this system. SAD and depressing for veterans.

Been a patient for 4 yrs at Reno VA. I'm retired medic and medical administrative superintendent. Have heard terrible stories about other VA facilities. Reno VA has treated me very good. Appointments have never been a problem getting. Sorry, but those giving poor ratings seem like basic crybaby complainers. I don't and never have worked for VA.

I cannot for the life of me understand anyone who doesn't just love this VA! They have never let me down, have been efficient and helpful, and above all, they found a cancer in my lung and removed it which saved my life! My four years in the Navy have bought me a lifetime of service from a wonderful organization and I am grateful!! Thank you Reno VA!!!

This is a busy review site. I listed 2 yrs ago that it was odd only 12 reviews up. Then 4 months ago I wrote a constructive negative review. Wow 116 reviews now, many seem mad I had mean words about their friends. Interesting I had responses from VA town halls from 4 different states, asking for my participation. None od which were Sierra NV. Two I had never been to. This VA has several campuses located all over Reno. Luckily the city of Reno is little, so that's not a problem. But it seems to run about as well as a school district that way. ALSO, the primary care providers are first years, that are changed yearly. Let that sink in when choosing your health care. Oh yeah we don't have a choice, unless you go the route around avoiding this mess by using tricare or Medicare and pay more. We all deserve to have to do that, right? What win-win.

I have been getting my health care at this VA Hospital for years up until a year ago when I got my Medicare and Tricare. They are a great facility and provide wonderful care. As with any medical program that provides full care the wait can be a bit long but they do the best I have seen to minimize that. There are many changes that have happened in the last year and a half but their experienced staff can be and a great help. Parking can be troublesome but only for those that do not have physical issues. Plenty of disabled parking is available.

The service has gone down hill since I have been going there.i have coming to this hospital for approximately 15 years. I would go somewhere else if I have better health insurance I would go somewhere else. They do not listen and always changing providers and mental health provider on me every 6 to 12 months

I have had nothing but excellent care and service since using the facility. The staff is friendly and helpful both on the phone and in person. I use a combination of private health services and the VA and in many situations, the VA has provided better, more efficient services. Had similar experiences when I lived in the Bay Area. I think the system overall has some kinks in it but I have not complaints about the facilities I have used.

I was shocked by how great the care was there at the VA when I had to go to the Emergency twice so far. However it seem like the women ER physicians demonstrated better service in listening, diagnosing and rendering service. Most of the Nurses were good too.

I had an ultrasound, and a blood test,... No problem. I think the VA gives exceptional health care.

Please don’t go here. The worst place ever! Very Unhealthy Environment. I spoke with the manager about my issues and he didn’t give a care in the world.

I have had 4 appointments now made for behavioral health that have been cancelled, but I was not made aware of this. That is 4 times now I have taken off work, come in to be told the appointment was cancelled. Worst of it is they keep tying to blame me, stating I was called and notified. However, I have no missed calls or voicemails. They also denied my transportation refund request for driving 2 hours, because they stated I had no appointments, since they cancelled them. No wonder VETS hate the VA. Why does the VA not care about it's VETS? Why do they blame the VETS for their errors? Who's running this ridiculous circus anyway? Last thing, if you check on the reviews on here, most of them are from VA employees!!! Talk about Fraud. A quick cross reference of the names and a google search of VA employee emails will prove that most of these 5 star reviews are FAKE!

I am a Marine Viet Nam vet and have been awarded %100 disability. As a result I can not say enough about the incredible care I receive with every visit to the facility in Reno. Also the facility itself is beautiful and it just keeps getting better and better. Thank you God and the VA. As for all those who give only 1 or 2 stars and complain so loudly are probably not service connected as so many vets who served and were wounded in combat and demand the same attention even though they may have served in not combat zones, like being stationed stateside or some place such as Germany.
