Gift shop Antique store Plant nursery Taxidermist Bonsai plant supplier

👍👍 If the Museum of Natural History was a storefront, this would be it. A haven for bone collectors and terrarium enthusiasts, this shop is great for a unique gift or quirky addition to the home. A lot of taxidermy, though most (if not all) are only for display. People often mention taxidermy, plants, store, selection, shop,

Absolutely the best atmosphere in this little shop! It is locally owned by two amazing and lovely ladies! It is a great place to find rare and unusual plants as well as a large selection of taxidermy and other natural oddities. If you’re looking for something in particular that they don’t have they will take your info and find it for you in your price range. Make sure you have plenty of time to look around a couple times you will find new things everywhere you look.

Very fun little shop with Succulents and Taxidermy. The atmosphere is great here, the interior design is very well done and gives a somewhat “Harry Potter”-esq vibe. The taxidermy can be a little off putting but they have a very wide array of interesting and uncommon succulents and plants. I was so happy that I came here yesterday because I’d been looking for a Bonsai tree and they have a few fun ones in the back! I am so excited about my new little Juniper, I was definitely not expecting them to have any but the owner told me that they carry them from time to time (every couple months she gets a few). I will definitely be coming back here for more of my plant-based needs.

I have been a customer of Natural Selection for years. I have bought plants, taxidermy, wet specimens and more from here, and every time I have shopped, the staff and owners have been so wonderful. They are passionate and knowledgeable about plants and taxidermy. Today I went in because I had a question about a wet specimen I purchased several years ago regarding the preservative fluid. The two employees there today went above and beyond to help me address my question. They were thorough and very kind. I cannot recommend this store enough if you have a fascination and love for the natural world.

Very cool store with a unique spin. Plants and taxidermy. The taxidermy is definitely not my thing or something I support, but for those interested in it they had a cool selection and it creates a very unique environment. The plant selection was fabulous and the overall layout of the store is very nicely done. They had a huge variety of a lot of things, including bonsai trees which was a nice surprise. The star dock is for the service. The ladies were friendly when their attention was directly on us, but otherwise it was an unprofessional environment. Three girls, including one of the owners were crowded in front around the register loudly talking about dating apps and and on their phones scrolls through tinder. I totally get it and related with what they were saying, and get that we were the only other people in the store (a young couple) but it still rang as unprofessional. When we did ask questions the owner didn’t seem quite as informed as one might expect, but she was perfectly friendly. Overall a very cool store and worth a visit.

Holy cow! What an AWESOME place! Not the easiest spot to find (pretty sure we drove down an alley way at one point), but SO worth it! The taxidermy selection is interesting to check out, and this is an absolute haven for the plant-lovers like I am! Dare I say, their selection rivals Moana Nursery! I'll definitely be coming back here again. Easy 5/5 rating from me!

Such an fascinating and wacky store! I was recommended this place by a local with no context and I was pleasantly surprised. They have a wide selections of taxidermy animal bits that ranged from affordable to “If I had the money I would.” This is a great place to pick up a taxidermy oddity for yourself or a love-one. You can also pick up some plants to if your into that.

This is one of the coolest hole-in-the-wall places in Reno. Super-well laid out, interesting items jammed into every corner. The prices waaay out of my price range, but I don't know much about taxidermy; they might be super cheap for what it is. Really cool to check out!

They'd be cool if they charged us for a coyote tooth and didn't even wrap it in the other stuff we bought. TIP: make sure you check to make sure all the stuff you bought is in there.

I absolutely love this place! They have an incredible selection of quirky gifts or items you never knew you wanted or needed. They have house plants of all varieties to unique/one of a kind items. The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, especially Peaches! I've yet to walk out of this place without something new to add to my collection. If you are a bunny hugger this is not the place for you so please stay out and not one star rate them because your beliefs don't don't match theirs. If you can accept this and want to find some incredible house plants, stop by. You won't be disappointed.

My absolute favorite store in all of northern Nevada! If you like natural history or plants, this is definitely the store for you! The staff are very knowledgeable and always willing to help answer questions. A lot of the plants are smaller and perfect for doing things like making terrariums (which they also sell and will help you make!), and they usually have a nice selection. I have several articulated skeletons, taxidermy mounts, and skulls I purchased at this store. You never know what they'll get in next!

Absolutely beautiful shop! I found this shop last year and fell in love with it. I will admit that until today I had not made a purchase, however every time I visited this gem in midtown I was always greeted and employees were always happy to answer my questions. Even if to just walk through I highly recommend this shop!

Amazing selection even when the owner said they didn't have much, the options were fantastic to me (amateur plant enthusiast). The taxidermied items are all around too! So much to see in a small space. Heads up for anyone claustrophobic: please come on a weekday. It's much easier to soak it all in when there isn't weekend crowds. Plus, parking will be difficult that's not the shops fault it's just midtown Reno. The owner, again, so amazingly sweet and their staff is very welcoming allowing for both window shoppers and natural world lovers alike to flourish in this amazing space. (Plus, best greeting cards in town bar NONE)

😠 I love this place. Always try to buy local when I can, especially for gifts and I shop here often. Unfortunately today, for the 1st time I was told I needed a mask to continue shopping. It's one thing to ask for a mask and a customer say they will leave with no issue, but it is another thing to FOLL...
