I’ve recently visited with my friends Fort Ross, which quite far from us, but didn’t regret it a bit! Special atmosphere of the beautiful nature, old authentic buildings, amazing cliff, trails to the ocean and souvenir-shop makes this place worth to see I was lucky enough to explore it at the shiny bright day and have amazing experience. Also I’ve done many beautiful pictures I should of took a picnic basket and enjoyed the meal watching the majestic scenery from the cliff If you are planning day out - that’s one more spot for your “Have to visit” list #FortRoss #FortRossCalifornia #FortRassUSA

Still a favorite place to stop. Great history, the workmanship of the fort still impresses me. Strong and sturdy. The first windmill in the State of California. The views of the ocean , pack a lunch and enjoy!!

Amazing state park, one of the oldest! Very well maintained, incredible visitor center and restored Russian fort. Well balanced perspectives are presented of European influence and Indigenous peoples. Dioramas bring the fort to life. Check out the historic orchard, great views and a nice place to have a picnic.

It was nice and the museum had lots of good stuff to look at. There is a little theater to see some history. The walk out to the fort was easy.

This was a stop along our road trip south from Fort Bragg back to Santa Rosa. It is a worthwhile stop if you have the time. I think you can cover it in about 60-90 minutes. The Fort is small but enjoyable. I did learn a lot about the historical significance of the fort and the surrounding area. The views of the coast are great.

Great stop for an amazing history lesson. Take the tour and don't forget to get that perfect photo. The trail to the fort is a short walk and if you're disabled they have a few parking options for you. Have fun and enjoy the afternoon exploring the area.

Great place to learn the early history of California. Opens a unique perspective of the Russian exploration of America and peaceful coexistence with the local tribes. Dog friendly. Restrooms are in the visitor center and in the fort area. Close tho the ocean.

Great place to spend a couple hours. We got in free with our campsite tag otherwise parking was 8$. Kids had a great time exploring the nature trails and historical buildings. We even got to see seals playing and sunbathing down in the water. Cute little walk thru museum and gift shop. Picnic tables and a good sized parking lot if you have a camper in tow. Definitely recommend!

The only Russian 19th century Fort exists in the world, and it is in the USA. Worth to visit. Entry is just $10 for parking

Interesting place to visit with important historical value. Beautiful views from the fort and very cheap to visit. We were very impressed that charging for electric vehicles was available so far out from population.

The museum is small but has a lot of information, they have an informational video that runs and they allow you to go up into the building at the fort. The fort also sits on a lot of land where tou can walk along the cliffs, down to the beach and supposedly to the cemetery as well. The church is a national landmark and according to the info at the fort holds services twice a year.

A drive up the Northern California coast found us crossing into former Russian territory. The Russian River and Sebastopol have an origin story, and Fort Ross tells the tale. $10 fee for a nice picnic area, a visitors center with displays, movies, guided tours ($8-10 more), and a gift shop, then there is the Fort itself with an original structure and several reconstructions of the settlement from the early 1800s. A great balance of walking, history, and the lovely sea shore kept us going for nearly two hours.

Great place for a walk and checking out the shore. Don’t come with t shirts and shorts. Very chilly.

A lot bigger than I expected. Glad we took the time to stop in a check it out. Huge parking lot with an overflow lot as well so I guess it can get really busy. Lots of interesting history I never heard about growing up in Sacramento. Great for kids and anyone with an imagination that likes to think about how it use to be.

Amazing sunset views and well preserved Russian fort where one can actually go in to different floors and see artifacts and cannons. Awesome place and definitely go for the sunset. The place has beautiful flowers too.
