The Reuben and Cuban sandwiches listed as summer specials were delicious as was the Boston Nut sundae. We also purchased vanilla caramels which did not disappoint. The staff was friendly, service good, food delicious, and atmosphere delightful. The vintage, preserved dark wood booths and accents were beautiful.

We've been coming to Beerntsen's in Manitowoc for decades and now we are lucky to live nearby so we can keep trying new treats. The employees are friendly and attentive and the place is nostalgic and historic, with gorgeous woodwork. We're looking forward to continuing to enjoy all that Beerntsen's has to offer.

How many places can you visit now a days and know your parents AND grandparents shared the same wonderful experience as you? Beerntsen's hasn't changed a bit and I don't know if I love it more for its historic longevity or the delicious ice cream. I've been a faithful devotee to the Hog N Dog for as long as I can remember! Their lunch options are really tasty too.

Would love to give this place 5-stars because its sweets are unbelievably delicious and the store is so cute and charming! However, the customer service and overall experience was a 3-star, at best. The girls behind the counter were unfriendly, not helpful, and although we came in close to closing time, they seemed irritated about that. They also had turned off some machines (chocolate for dipping cones) and were literally microwaving fudge in front of us. They said I couldn’t have a dipped waffle cone because of this. They also acted as if we were a nuisance and had no customer service skills, nor just general people skills. I hope that’s not a true depiction of their service in-store during the day but I won’t be back because it was super uncomfortable and I don’t appreciate being glared because I am making you work to your allotted working hours. (The store closes at 9, we were there 15 minutes before then).

What a wonderful place this is! One of the oldest candy shops in Wisconsin (1932), this place makes much of their delicious candy in-house. Fantastic chocolates in unique shapes and flavors, along with many different types of candies and ice cream. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in. You won't regret it. We'll be back the next time we're in the area.

We came here because it was featured in our Road Food Book. It did not disappoint. I had a hot fudge sundae and my husband had a latte that came with one of the cookies made here. We were both very happy with our choices. The building was delightful. I also bought a package of the cookies and a couple chocolate's to take with us. We will stop here again when visiting the area.

Yummy sandwich, great sundae, and we picked up some fun candy. All of this in a historic old time atmosphere.

What a cool place! Great prices on a nice lunch, friendly staff, and great treats for after. We didn't get any icecream but will be back again to try it out. If you eat here take the time to read the little newspaper thing they give you on the history of the business it very interesting. Worth a stop if your in the area!!

I love going to this confectionary! They have the best chocolate. My personal favorite is the chocolate covered Oreos. They also have a nice eating area that serves soups, sandwiches, and salads. The atmosphere is that if an old candy store. Woodwork is beautiful! Fresh cedar crest ice cream available as well!

A truly wonderful "blast from the past"! The hands on, on premise making, of most of the offerings, makes this a rare gem find. The ice cream shop is almost entirely original from the early 1900's. The candies, ice cream, toppings...are what will keep you returning to living museum. All treats, no tricks:)

Grown Up Grilled Cheese, so very good! Tomato Bisque- I'm not a fan of blue cheese, but the blend was perfect with the garlic & tomato! Raspberry Lemonade for me and a Macchiato with complimentary cookie for him. Add a Turtle Sundae- yes, please! Everything was very yummy! On the way out, we picked up some Sour Cherries & some Cinnamon Bears. Glad we stopped in!

Beautiful historic shop with delicious sandwiches, ice cream, and of course, chocolate! Perfect place to get a bite to eat after riding the car ferry from Ludington.

Love Love Love coming to this historic confectionery. They have more than sweets. The lunch was amazing. Get the Tuna salad sandwich, it was delicious. The chicken salad sandwich is very good too. Their pasta salad is also good. Honestly, whatever you order will be good. They also have old-fashioned phosphates and old-fashioned milkshakes. You gotta go, you won't regret it !

Just like confectionery at the beginning of Willy Wonka!! Tons of sundaes and they are amazing!!! Handmade fizzy raspberry soda was great! Tasty egg salad sandwich. Grilled peanut butter and marshmallow sandwich was great! Homemade Marshmallow topping here was the highlight! We visited twice in 16 hours on vacation even!

Talk about a throw back to the future, lol. Picture a soda/ice cream shop from the 1950's , this is the place. Over a dozen sundaes and shakes/malt. Plus hot food too. Usual fast food, burgers, hot dogs, etc. Add in a chocolate addiction for the person who craves dark & light. My wife! I don't complain, because I love it when she shares. Can't imagine leaving without a cone to go or a bag of brittle . Have fun.

I am new to Beerntsen's. I didn't grow up in the area but people I know that did recommend this place a lot. So after trying it I can see why. All the confectionaries are magnificent. I love the choice of milk or dark chocolate for just about everything which gives me an excuse to buy two of everything. Their turtles are amazing. Their fudge is great. And this location has a little ice cream bar and they go heavy on the chocolate in their flavors. It's really worth a visit if you're in the area.

Cute old fashioned candy shop! Friendly staff. So many options for chocolates. Also sundaes and ice cream options. Coffee drinks too. Can't wait to go back! Picked up a gift certificate for a Christmas present to go back!

This is ok but I wouldn’t really recommend it except it’s got a nice old fashioned, nostalgic lay out inside. Ice cream was very basic flavors, which is fine, but the consistency was more like sherbet in all flavors we got, it was grainy and crystalline, not creamy and rich like I expected. I bought a box of Chocolates which were just ok like cheap or mid range store bought chocolates, nothing really great. Nuts were yummy. Overall it was just underwhelming- we won’t be back. Not sure how this place is so famous. There’s a lot better places to get ice cream.

really cool building but the food and ice cream are really mid. i got a biscoff latte and it didn’t taste like biscoff.

My family loves stopping at Beerntsten's! We have done lunch there, which was delicious, and really loved the old fashioned vibe. My daughter especially enjoys picking out a treat and seeing all the chocolate shapes!
