    Waste management has provided garbage collection service to Thousand Oaks for the 25 years that I've lived here. The service is always on time, drivers are friendly and courteous,. Customer service reminders are sent out when there will be a delay in service. Large item pick-ups can be scheduled. In short no complaints means that they are doing their job. I don't have to worry.

    I have been using WM for many years now. I have 3 containers - a small sized trash container, a medium sized recycle container, and a large sized yard waste container. I recently learnt by accident that i am being billed for a medium sized trash container for the last 3 years. The difference in price is $6/month so I have paid around $216 in error. Not a big deal but quite annoying. I thought just like anywhere else once I let them know the mistake they will surely rectify it and reimburse me whats owes to me. And this is where things go south! Incredibly no one believes me! They say our records show you have a medium sized trash can. Well, that’s wrong. I request them to come to my house and check but nope they won’t do that. They tell me to check pictures of service pickups and guess what? The containers on MY service pick ups and those of my neighbors opposite the road (who use a medium sized trash container). So someone messed up and got the wrong house. That should end it right? Well, no cause no one cares. I have called 6-7 times now and everytime have to explain the whole story to a new guy who never has a solution. Finally got transferred to some top guy in billing named Charles who was the rudest person I have ever talked to. He pretty much accused me of lying. Am I really insane to waste all my time and energy and fight about something as trivial as this if it wasn’t true? Still hoping for a resolution on this. Hopefully posting this here gets someone’s attention. I swear I will donate the refund to charity if I ever get it. It’s not about the damn money. Its just driving me nuts that this isn’t being taken care of.

    Easy to set up bulk pickup online. We broke down the recliner couch before transferring it to the curb because we weren’t aware that it was so heavy. The driver that showed up was very nice and helpful. I just felt bad for how many pieces he had to place in the truck. I thought there would have been two guys unless there was another guy in the driver side of the truck.

    Could not have been easier. WM takes our trash every week and with a couple of clicks on their extremely user friendly website I set up a large item pickup for a ling size mattress for two days later. On time and with no hassle two days later it was gone. Just make sure you bag it properly first.

    Good waste collection, processing and recycling company. The only issue I noticed in the 20+ years of their services was the recent service day change notifications which were not correct with the start date in the email received but the SMS communication was correct for that change. Overall, that change of service start date communication was not consistent and the email communication to customer contained incorrect information.

    Our service with Waste Management has been uneventful. They provide good trash service as expected. The only recent complaint is that they didn’t send out an email and text for the Memorial Day holiday to remind us that the trash would be picked up a day later. I should have known better but we always got a message in the past. They did send out a text for the 4th of July.

    We have had the same pick up person for years and he is so nice. He has even honked at us when we forgot to put our trash out as he was going up our hill! We appreciate the kindness.

    Needed an old couch picked up and it was done on a timely manner, no concerns. Never had any problems with WM, just wish the garbage bill could be lower. LOL!

    Horrible customer service. Long wait times, everyone you speak to wants to transfer you to some other department. When you have waited on hold for over 40 minutes then the call is lost. Representatives tell you they will have someone call you back and never do.

    Responsive company and the website, while a little clunky in terms of process workflow, does get the job done. Scheduled a roll-on, roll-off that appeared on time and in the requested area. Requested all new containers and with the exception of the yard waste container, everything arrived on the first online request. Also make regular visits to the Simi dump and where would homeowners be without that place? Not that we have a choice.

    I do not recall using WM, Simi Valley site, however, the weekly service provided is very good. Once the containers were missing, and the following week we discovered that they were erroneously delivered to the neighbor.

    Very bad costumer service i always call and complain about the service and no one is taking any action. Even sometimes they hang up while am on the call. 7 complains and nothing changed the same issue is happening with the driver. Horrible company and horrible service. We are paying our money and not getting what we should get. And on top no one is trying to solve the problem. The driver is locking the dumpster in an unacceptable way ( please look at the picture) is that possible? And no supervisor no one in the company is reaching out to solve the issue. They just disregard their costumers.

    Your trucks continue to cause traffic and dangerous conditions on the freeway. Between the 101, 23, and 118, they are consistently driving well below the speed limit. The mornings on the 23 are the worst as they often drive side by side at 50 MPH clogging up the freeway for miles. Your company needs to fix this. Edit 5/15/2023. The response from WM is not real or accurate or addressing my issue. One more reason you can tell this company is run by a-holes.

    The trash prices went up year over year without explanation. Our City changed contracts to a different company and NOW Waste Management is all concerned as to why. NOW they are sending out customer surveys and trying to get our opinion of their service. It wasn't till they lost the contract did they be come concerned. Atlas, our new company, has reported charging us about half what WM was charging.

    While living in Oak Park, CA for almost 30 years, l have interacted with the truck drivers and pick up workers, as well as, with the office that services my home [ used them too, in different OP locations]. l can say they are excepcional people dedicated to respect their customers with good manners, very courteous and helpful. l had in that time a need to change containers, requested change in services, rented a bins for when cleaning the yard and garage. All was done easily over the phone, with people that understood what l needed and even offered better suggestions than what l had in mind. l did so just last June 2021. The pricing was steady for a while, then it has been increasing and rapidly, but so have many other things. Hopefully their rates won't get crazy like those of the gas, water and power!. l only hope more options are given in the future, ie. intervals rates, other than weekly or perhaps "a per pick up/per container" price, as the needs of many have changed at home. l myself no longer have so much weekly trash or recycling or greens, l could go 1x month, Others have way too much trash! some 2x in excess of their weekly container, mostly b/c now families we have residences or houses, that serve as a school, a multi pourpose office bldg for parents plus a home to a full household with probably kids and pets producing trash & recyclables 24/7. 'Tis time to move and grow with what our home needs demand.

    By far Waste Management is the best of all of the "Utilities companies" we have used to service our house. In the many years we have them, we never had a single issue with their service. I will highly and without a doubt recommend them and trust their services

    I’ve only used their services a short time but I’m disappointed that an expensive private service like Waste Management’s is not reliable with garbage pick ups. To be a day an a half late, as was the case this past week, is not acceptable. For the record it was the regular trash and recycling bins not the green waste, and it was a problem on the entire street, not just my house. Last week it was less late but was still late (afternoon instead of morning). So overall disappointed with the consistency/reliability of the service.

    Love the WM big green machines and their professional driver operators. Love the fact that the big green machines have diesel engines that run on clean natural gas. Love the efficiency of the big green machines and how quickly they can make their way up and down the street emptying their designated trash bins. Love the fact that WM plums their landfill to capture methane gas that is part of the decomposition process of the landfill, and then utilize the methane gas to drive electricity generating generators. Love the WM Company culture of customer service, professionalism, friendliness, and helpfulness. Love the WM accommodation of large loads that will not fit in the normal trash bin.
