The front desk lady was rude and unwelcoming this time ( 11/08/2022). My son did not wear his mask as his mask fell down on the floor while walking to the office and I told him not to use that dirt mask. So when we entered, the front desk lady kept shaking her head that my son not have his mask which was so annoying and very rude. I was about to give her back of her worst behavior. She needs to really understand sometimes it may happen that the patients either forgot or loose the mask. I would advise the management to teach her to be polite and kind to the patients. Doctors and other staffs are excellent and this is my 12th years of visit.

I will not complain about the professional experience of the Doctors working in this office, but definitely there is some people or staff that make a very disappointing work, and that is the reason of why we removed our child from this provider. During our time receiving services from Children First Pediatrics in Silver Spring location, it was very common for the staff to leave you waiting for very long time (in most cases exceeding an hour) to see the doctors, even for annual or sick appointments, it was the same. Our regular provider was Dr. Porras, always very professional, but if we were 5 or 10 min late (definitely no tolerance for patients but for practitioners is ok to leave you waiting), Mrs. Stein was the nurse in charge of seeing you, and she did not care at all if your kid was in pain or with fever. With her, we took our son, in that time he was about one year old, and was with high fever for about two days, and she only said "just give him Tylenol and will go away" after a very poor exam. Two days later we went back because the fever did not stop and Dr. Burns made a complete exam and told us that our son had strep and the infection was already on his ear. This issue could be avoided if Mrs. Stein would care more about her patients. When we tried to discuss with Mrs. Stein in a different appointment our difficulties with our son to make him accepting different foods, she just said "give him beans". I am wondering if she gives the same type of advice to all her patients. During the pandemic last year, our son had a very bad constipation problem. I tried to contact the office to see if they were able to receive us, but every time I called they hanged out the phone, which was very frustrating for us, since our son was in strong pain. I went directly to their office with my son in arms but before entering the room one of the front desk assistants yelled at me and said "stop! you cannot go anywhere!". I told her that my son was very bad and needed a sick appointment and she yelled at me again saying "we do not have sick appointments anymore, go to the portal!" in a very aggressive mood. I just left the room without saying anything and took my son to Holy Cross. After this last horrible experience, we decided to take our son to a different provider. We cancelled his annual appointment and took him to a different office. The new office asked them to send the medical records but they did not do it until we contact them again to ask for this. However, when we called them to ask them transferring my son's medical records to the new provider, they said that we needed to go to their office and pay $20 to receive a flash drive with his information. I sent a check with the amount requested and several weeks later, I received a call from one of this front desk assistants saying that they did not receive payments for medical records anymore and also that I needed to download them from the patient portal. They told me that destroyed my check. When I tried to download the medical records from our son, the portal indicated us that our account was deactivated. We had to deal with all these problems for about a year. Three weeks ago, I called them again to ask one more time for the medical records, and they asked me again for the $20. I told them what happened in the past and the front desk assistant told me "that is not true". I paid over the phone with my card but the medical records were not sent to the new provider or me. I called very upset this morning and they sent incomplete information since they said that "I paid but they did not have any instruction about what to do". In general, this provider was very disrespectful with my family, and definitely their customer service is very disappointing. I recommend to look for a better pediatric provider.

Children First Pediatrics is a racist place if you are a person if color do not take your children there: Indian, Ethiopian, West African, Latino/Hispanic......there I said it....if you're perceived as white/Jewish the staff is nice to you....read the reviews! All parents who are of color are mistreated I will never take my kid here EVER...we will be going elsewhere and I will report this facility and staff for racism to the AMA and MD Licensure Board....all their names are posted on the website...DO BETTER!!! ITS 2022!!! 12/12/22 Rachel the administrator has posted that I should call to discuss and 50 years they're inclusive blah blah....DO BETTER GET SOME BETTER REVIEWS FROM PARENTS OF COLOR AND SHOW THE COMMUNITY IN REAL TIME THAT THIS OFFICE DOES NOT CATER TO WHITE FOLKS...talk talk talk thats all this practice does ...your staff is terrible...train them then assess their knowledge about other cultures in Silver Spring MD or fire them simple

I've struggled with this office and getting my two children into their system as new patients for 6 months now. After finally scheduling an appointment I was told there was no record of our children in their system even after the appointment. For our second child I've tried to schedule them as a new patient for multiple appointments and I missed a window (I was traveling and out of the country) to submit their previous medical records within 14 days - I submitted this at the 10 day mark and the appointment was canceled (it was a Pre Op appointment for surgery) - I am so frustrated as the next appointment 4 months out is un-workable. Eagerly now looking for other providers.

We love Children First! We’ve seen almost all providers and nurse practitioners and we like them all. The front desk staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The office’s use of an online portal and app makes it easy to contact them, retrieve medical history and schedule appointments.

I've been with this practice for 23 years now. The staff, nurses and doctors constantly go out of their way to make each visit a pleasant and informative experience. I'm always confident my children's well being and our family as a whole is first and foremost in their minds. My go to doctor here is Liza Burns- love her! She is extremely patient and has always made me feel like my boys are her only patients. When you leave the office, Dr. Burns care doesn't end there. She is quick to follow up and check in to see how everyone is doing. She is hands down the best pediatrician ever. My encounters with the other doctors of this practice for sick appointments, etc. are all just as wonderful. I highly recommend this practice to all parents!

Absolutely LOVE our pediatrician office!! The staff are all attentive and kind. After being in the practice for 12 years, they are like family! There's never a wait to be seen and I love that well visits can be scheduled a year out. Highly recommend!

I tried to sign up my kids as new patients and was told they didn't receive the medical records two business days before my appointment, while they had a whole two months to notify me. The previous physician office had confirmed they transferred the records a month before so I didn't know there were issues. They cancelled my appointment. I tried to reschedule and they put me on hold for half an hour, twice! They never called back. This is not acceptable.

Extremely difficult to get an appointment with a dr. Based on speaking with a receptionist, I will be able to reschedule a well appointment in 2 months, and that is only because someone else cancelled.

Excellent practice. I’ve had nothing but good experiences here over the past 10 years. All the pediatricians and nursing staff are lovely. They listen careful to your concerns, talk through every option with you and just make you feel reassured about having your children under their medical care. Would definitely recommend.

The doctors (Rupar and Amy) really care about the concerns that parents have. Front desck ( Camille ) has my appointments very organized and kindly explains everything in detail.

The doctors have always been nice, but office communication is poor and the web portal is *terrible*. Half the functionality doesn't work, you can't right click (what is this, 2005?), the billing system is unclear, and we've had to resolve several billing issues. Please get a new web portal.

The good folks at Childrens First Pediatrics - the doctors and staff - are wonderful! In this particular review I’d like to thank Camille R for her follow up and assistance to help me reschedule an appointment when I had a meeting that I couldn’t get out of. She understood the demands and found a new appointment that worked for everyone’s schedules. Thank you!

This doctor office was one of the best pediatric office. I have been with doctor for 17 year. But now is one of the worst will not even refer my enemy here. The doctor has so many patients changes office rule every time. Selling mask for a dollar. If you don’t have a dollar they ask you to pay with your credit card. Are you for real!!!!!!!!!

We switched to Children First Pediatrics with our 2 week old after a bad experience with another practice. It has been a great experience so far! The front desk and nursing staff have been so friendly and Dr. Porras has been wonderful! The online portal and Healow app are very easy to use too. We’re very glad we made the switch.

We always see Amy and she’s the best! Detailed and gives great advice/ suggestions. Both of our kids love her and are always excited for their check ups. All of the nurses and staff are very friendly, attentive, and professional.

It's a peaceful and wonderful place, nurses are nice, caring and helpful. Doctors are very good and give great advices. I put 4 stars just because my children noticed that on their wall, they is not a single picture of a brown skin kid. Weird but they asked me and I had no words to say. I just made up an answer that maybe no brown parent gave a picture of his kid to put on the wall 🤔🙃. Overall, the place is good.

We had a great visit with Dr. Burns. She answered all my questions thoroughly and put me at ease. The nurses were also great with my 2 month old son- his vaccines were as painless as possible. I appreciate their covid policy of bringing patients straight back to the exam room, as opposed to waiting in the waiting room with other patients.
