Silver Spring is a busy station that is currently under construction as the Purple line is being built at the moment. It gets fairly busy around rush hour, however the frequency of the Red Line helps clear out all the human traffic in the station. The architecture of the station is very futuristic, but unique, and beautiful.

This station on the red line is a convenient way to get to places south like DC. It gets very busy and there is an entire transit center with many bus routes that stop here. With this station getting really busy there are multiple signs throughout to help you find your train or bus.

This metro station is Silver Spring. The metro station is not very clean but there is working elevators and escalators. LED displays tell you when the next couple trains will arrive and trains are usually on time. Keep in mind this station gets very busy during rush hour and sometimes dangerous. Silver Spring is a massive transit hub so the metro connects to MARC on the normal train platform and so many different busses in a huge bus terminal. It's kind of like the PABT in NYC but not as big. There is a transit store in the building and on the 3rd/top level there is many taxicabs. Soon the purple line will be built here and I'm very excited. There is a lot of construction which makes the station look bad right now but I'm sure it will be cleaned up in no time. Great job to WMATA and all the builders for making this awesome transit hub in Maryland that isn't too far from me.

My sister was impressed with the entire Silver Spring station. It is clean, efficient, and the directions are easy to understand. However, my sister and I were going to DC to visit a few museums and we weren't sure about the route. The attendant at the ticket booth was not very clear. However, the Metro attendant on the platform was very friendly and helpful. He gave us great information and our trip went smoothly!

I just saw two people jumping over the ticket gates. Obviously non paying customers. The ticket guards didn't do anything, they were just sitting there. Why should I pay if others just get the skip the gate? Or maybe hire new personnel in this location.

Always fast, quiet and efficient. The trains come by every 10 minutes or so which makes it easy to plan your trips.

I'm starting to see a lot of bus drivers doing what they want to do and not what they're supposed to do at this metro station, I'm thinking about taking my monthly pass money and getting a car, This will save me less stress, headache and time., That's why I'm saving my stimulus checks, and tax refunds

Red line enthusiasts dig this station for the 360 no scope views of downtown silver spring and the silent escalators that whisk you to the upper deck. The penguin mural is just the right amount of hipster swag to give me street cred. I feel bad for folks who use Tacoma, right?
