delicious food!! my husband and I dined here for the first time and had calamari for appetizer, the lamb chops and veal parmigiana for entrée (came with warm bread and house salad), and cannoli and chocolate cake for dessert! everything was delicious and cooked to perfection! we really enjoyed our time here and hope to return soon.

Nova Europa is a hidden gem of a restaurant. This cozy restaurant has delicious food at a very affordable price. For early bird dinner, a 3 course set of an appetizer, entree, and dessert is $23 and twilight dinner set is $31. The escargot (2 ways) are fantastic appetizer options and the Steak Diane with mushroom sauce is flavorful and tender. The flan, cakes, and cheesecake are all wonderfully decadent dessert options. Overall, every item I have tried on the menu is great and the service is as well!

I was thrilled to find an authentic Portuguese restaurant so close to home. While it may not look like much from the outside, the experience surpassed my expectations. My husband and I were very open to the full “Portuguese” experience, and our server, Manuel, did not disappoint. He listened to our preferences and made wonderful recommendations from the wine, to the appetizers, to the entrees and dessert. I am so happy we listened to his suggestions and thoroughly enjoyed everything! Manuel helped my husband navigate the de-boning of his (excellent) sardine appetizer and recommended a bottle of wine that wasn’t yet on the menu. Service was exceptional, the food was delicious and fresh, and while the quaint atmosphere was a little more formal than I was expecting, it didn’t feel stuffy. I’m already missing the pasteis de nata and can't wait to return.

Eating at Nova Europa is an amazing experience that truly makes you feel like being in Europe. From the great ambiente and being greeted by Manuel - who has been here for over 40 years and feels so passionate about this place - to the delicious mix of Portuguese, French, and Italian cuisine, this restaurant offers what I have not yet found anywhere else in the USA. It is a great place for couples and families to come and be taken on a memorable culinary journey.

Home style cooked meals with a good variety of things to choose from. It’s definitely an old European restaurant feel. Great service and an amaretto to finish.

Manuel, over sees the Kitchen and this is definitely a family owned business. I had the weekend special for two people and total was about $96.00. Bread service provided, house salad, I had a cab (wine), asparagus, blackberry oysters, a ribeye, and rockfish. Dessert was pasteis de nata with a shot of Ameretto. Great portion sizes. Great atmosphere and Manuel made it even better. Shared some history and his passion for gastronomy. Will come back. You won't be remiss to come try.

Went for my wife's birthday with our 5 year old. We had a carafe of house Portuguese white, 2 appetizers, ravioli, a seafood dish, surf and turf, and dessert. Everything was absolutely spectacular. Ambience is very European, quiet and low-key with a more elderly crowd. The server, Manuel was absolutely charming. Anytime he was at the table (which was just the right amount of times to be helpful but not annoying) we had great conversation. His passion for the food was obvious. We have a new favorite restaurant in Maryland, and are already planning our return.

The fish is always fresh. The lamb tender and well seasoned. The veal and chicken tender and juicy. The fettuccine Alfredo perfectly thickened with cream and Parmigiano - just to name a few of the dishes. Don't miss out on the soup, appetizers and desserts. Cozy old world charm without having to go to Bethesda or DC. The staff is always friendly and happy to accommodate your dietary needs.

Absolutely amazing!!!! Great quiet cozy romantic place for a delicious and heart filling dinner. Manuel is great. He told us the story of the restaurant and suggested plates with knowledge while trying to please our taste. The main course was delicious, and the dessert (Pastéis de nata) soft sweet and flavorsome!!!

Charming ambiance, delicious food, friendly service! We were so lucky to find Nova Europa last year after an evening at the nearby Brookside Gardens - a hidden gem, it’s been open for 40 years! Portuguese food with a broader Euro-American flair. Our waiter Manuel was the original chef and now devotes himself to taking care of his guests. We’ve sampled the steaks, fish, appetizers, and pasta - all amazing old world quality. The Portuguese wines are earthy and tasty. Great prices too! And of course the desserts - limoncello cake, mousse, and if you ask nicely, maybe they will have some mouth-watering custard pastel de nata in the kitchen. A must-visit - obrigado!

Such a great little mom and pops find near us! We love it. Manuel was our server and he had us both times we were there. He treated us, and I'm sure each customer, like they were individually important. The assisting staff, also the same boht times for us, provided equally good service. We attached here our pix with seafood meals, and nice European style espresso and aperitif, and....canoli, which disappeared too quickly for a picture! Yum! House red is also very good, and we're picky! My favorite is the care they take with customers which offers a wonderful and enjoyable, relaxing experience. Thanks, Manuel!

Nova Europa, one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. I’ve been to plenty of Michelin star restaurants, and five star restaurants alike. But I can confidently say Nova Europa has the best rack of lamb I have ever had. the salad before The main course was fantastic, freshly washed greens, a delectable dressing wasn’t too bitter wasn’t too sweet It was one of the best tasting salad dressings I’ve ever had and definitely left me wanting more. The staff was fantastic. Service was exquisite. This is definitely a hidden gem. I would encourage anyone to try out there cuisine I will 100% be back to nova Europa in the near future hungry for more.

I Absolutely would recommend Nova Europa. The food was so delicious and fresh. We’ve had amazing calamari in many restaurants, however this one stood out. It was exceptionally fresh and cooked to perfection. Our steak, veal and seafood were cooked to perfectly as well! Our waiter, Manuel was so kind and professional and took his time with our table. We will definitely be visiting this restaurant again, very soon!

Mr Manuel's service was impeccable and kind. He correctly explained about the dishes. My choice was codfish, green broth and marinade. I recommend it because the dishes are generous and not overpriced.

We celebrated tonight at Nova Europa - eleven of us. Our amazing server, Manuel took such great care of every detail of our dinner and celebration. He made excellent suggestions for entrees, but beyond that was kind, attentive, and fun! The food was fabulous and the portions ample. We all had a memorable evening and a wonderful meal. We will definitely be back!!

I remember coming here over 20 years ago with my parents. It brought so many wonderful memories. The food was just like I remembered as a child. I will be back again.

We were a group of four first-timers at Nova Europa to celebrate a birthday. We had a blast. The setting was pleasantly old-school and comfortable to talk. Manuel was charming and helpful with recommendations - he even shared recipe tips. The recommended food and wine were delicious, and the staff even sang Happy Birthday - first time in decades to have that happen. An altogether memorable experience. Very highly recommend.

This place is tucked away in a plaza. I had been meaning to go for a while. Finally made it for a Thursday lunch. The place has a beautiful old world ambience. We were greeted warmly by Manuel who has been working here for 40 years. He is the host and the chef. He recommended the grilled octopus and rack of lamb. The food was delicious- meat was tender and perfectly grilled. The veggies are perfectly cooked. The service was on point. We will be back for sure!!

We've been enjoying the European cuisine in this local restaurant for decades, and the excellence is hard to beat. Tonight they had a very creative Valentine's Day menu, too! Love their Chicken Marsala and my husband's calf liver dish was superb. It was also my birthday, and they sang happy birthday to me upon delivering me a free cheesecake with raspberry drizzle. Our waiter Andrew could not have been more attentive, and had a great sense of humor. This kind of service has been a consistent experience for us, whomever waited on us. Highly recommend!

I’ve been lucky enough to have dined in some of the finest restaurants across the country, and the globe. I put Nova Europa right at the top among my favorites. The food is spectacular as is the service but that’s only part of the story. The ambiance is warm, comfortable, and genuine and the venue has a delightful personality, much of this owning to Manuel, one the restaurant’s founding fathers. My wife and I have been enjoying our many visits since the year they opened (1982). And Manuel has always served and charmed us. A highly trained master chef with a wonderfully interesting story to tell. We took a dear friend out for lunch today and he simply remarked, “this is the best restaurant experience I have ever had.” I’ll leave you all with that said, and…Thanks Manuel! Dr. Rick

I genuinely love this place. European cuisine is always a good go to for me, but this place is especially good. The service, food, and environment is amazing and always has been. I’ve been coming here for years and never had a meal I didn’t love. One of the waiters, Andrew, was also incredibly friendly and hospitable as well as the rest of the staff. Highly recommend this place.

Lovely atmosphere and delicious food. Many unique flavors and beautiful plating! Our server Manuel was very attentive and helpful. It was lovely hearing his story. The lamb shank was so tender and fell right off the bone.

My gf and I went to Nova Europa tonight for the first time for their Valentines Day Menu. This is a cozy mom and pop style restaurant that has a home cooked taste and feel to it. Though they were incredibly busy, our waiter (newly hired teen/family member) ensured we had all of our food and drinks in a timely manner. The Surf n Turf was one of the softest and flavorful ones we’ve had in a long time! We enjoyed our meals and dining experience and definitely recommend this restaurant!

Went to Nova Europa recently with my girlfriend celebrating my year with her. Food was good, I ordered the Shrimp Cocktail, and Calamari as a starter. My girlfriend got French Onion soup and found it to be the best she's ever had. I ordered the Lamb chops and even though it was busy, they came out to be perfect. Dessert was the Lemoncello cake, my girlfriend and I split it. Honestly it was so good. Nice and refreshing.. Valentines day is coming up and I assure you I will be back to this place. Thank you Nova Europa.
