Great place to hang out in Central Park, offering scenic views of Belvedere Castle. It’s pretty in the winter, when the water is frozen.

My roommate and I thought this place was cool. It’s so peaceful and the turtles just hang out on the edge. We were tempted to pick one up because they’re so close, but we figured that wasn’t appropriate. Great spot to clear your head.

Turtle Pond is perhaps one of the most under-appreciated spaces in Central Park! It is adjacent to the Great Lawn, and it is full of Turtles! We also saw a cormorant drying his wings in the sunshine. But, just look at all of those turtles! 🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢

A cute pond full of turtles and geese and ducks that like to roam around.

When not too crowded, Turtle Pond offers a serene spot to sit and enjoy the view. Depending on how sure-footed you feel, you can climb down the rocky Manhattan Schist to sit right by the watet.

Great place to chill on sunny days. Not too many people around and the turtles are really friendly and curious!

One of my favorite spots in CP. sometimes we spot swimming ducks and turtles, which is fun to watch for kids and adults alike.

The Turtle Pond is a pond in Central Park, south of the Great Lawn, that is full of, you guessed it, turtles! According to the official Central Park website, five species of turtle live in the turtle pond: red-eared sliders, snapping turtles, painted turtles, musk turtles, and box turtles. The Turtle Pond is a nice place to stop and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. If you look across the pond, you can see Belvedere Castle.

I once rescued a large turtle that some person fished out of the lake and was planning to take home. Good times. Nice spot to read on a Saturday afternoon— there’s a guy who walks by with his boombox playing oldies. Btw it’s not allowed to take turtles home! Even though most of them are invasive!
