Coast
to
Coast
was
the
contracted
bus
company
for
a
high
school
band
trip
to
NYC
that
I
was
on.
It
was
the
worst
bus
trip
I
have
ever
been
on.
The
lead
driver
Johnny,
could
not
follow
GPS
directions
and
refused
to
listen
to
any
of
the
other
drivers
or
chaperones
who
tried
to
help
with
his
navigation.
We
have
a
Life360
map
that
shows
him
missing
his
exit
5
times
while
trying
to
get
back
to
the
hotel
in
New
Jersey
even
with
other
drivers
telling
him
where
to
go.
Half
of
the
band
almost
missed
a
dinner
cruise
when
two
of
the
other
drivers
couldn't
follow
their
GPS
or
the
other
busses
and
went
the
wrong
way
in
NYC.
In
NYC,
most
of
the
navigating
was
done
by
the
parents
on
the
bus
because
the
drivers
were
unsure
of
where
to
go.
One
of
the
drivers
had
a
loud
phone
conversation
while
driving
as
she
broke
up
with
her
boyfriend.
I
believe
it
was
the
same
driver
who
hit
a
lamp
post
and
a
toll
both
with
one
of
the
bus
mirrors
thus
breaking
it.
When
she
was
stopped
by
NYPD
about
it
she
began
screaming
and
hollering
at
them.
The
argument
with
the
NYPD
was
videoed
by
some
of
our
chaperones.
The
return
trip
took
27
hours
when
one
of
the
busses
developed
mechanical
problems
and
left
us
stranded
in
Virginia
for
several
hours.
The
drivers
were
not
cooperative
with
the
tour
company
staff
or
band
staff
when
it
came
to
discussing
plans
and
schedules.
Our
longtime
band
director
has
made
this
trip
numerous
times
and
has
a
well
planned
itinerary
that
the
drivers
didn't
seem
to
care
about.
Fuel
stop/rest
breaks
that
were
planned
for
limiting
travel
time
were
not
made
because
the
bus
drivers
only
wanted
to
stop
at
certain
truck
stops
where
they
could
earn
driver
points
thus
adding
additional
time
to
our
trip.
Finally,
there
didn't
seem
to
be
enough
drivers
for
the
trip
and
the
drivers
we
did
have
drove
long
hours
that
seemed
unsafe.
After
being
in
a
high
school
band
and
making
many
trips
as
a
chaperone,
I
have
to
say
this
is
the
worst
bus
company
I
have
ever
seen.
