I can't describe how much I enjoyed touring the Indiana military museum today. The displays were informative and the staff were so helpful and explained things perfectly. It is a self guided tour which I preferred because I got to go at my own pace. I spent two hours here and still felt like I could have been there longer. 100% recommend

This museum is 2 hours away from Indianapolis. It is located in Vincennes, Indiana. This museum has exhibits dating back to the Revolutionary War. It is a good experience to learn about the US military and how far they have come. The museum has a great collection of uniform articles worn by different people in history. Their artillery collection is also good. They have a replica of a battlefield trench as well as a replica of a German bunkers. It is a great place to have a good experience of US military history.

It is an amazing place, especially being only 2 hours away from where I live. My family and I really love military history coming from a military family and to be able to see some of the vehicles that were in many of the wars and actually be able to touch some of them and get close was pretty awesome. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful and even some of the volunteers walked with you to give you lessons and talk about different items which was really awesome. We went during the World War I reenactment event and got to see a lot of really interesting people. The reenactment was really fun, and getting to walk through the mock trenches and pick up spent casings from the rifles was really cool. I was told that they have a Memorial Day event where all the running vehicles tanks, trucks, and and cars get brought out in a parade. Makes me want to plan just to see it. Highly recommended if you are really into history of the military and the military history of Indiana.

A museum with no equal! While in the area and looking for a unique place to visit I stumbled across the Indiana Military Museum, home to easy the most impressive collection of historical items I’ve ever come across. Containing everything from uniform articles worn by those on harms way to vehicles that still function, as seen by the oil pans beneath them, to a replica bunker, and a World War One trench. The gift shop is home to many wonderful items to include expanded ammunition, command ball caps, pens made from expended ordinance, models, and so much more. When I’m the area and you have an hour to three to burn I can think of no greater place to spend it but here.

We brought our son here because he enjoys learning about guns and ammunition. It was so much more than I expected. It was is impressive and educational, too. The volunteers that operate it are very friendly and willing to answer questions. Highly recommend!

🇺🇲The Indiana Military Museum is a fantastic collection of war history artifacts from WWI with some present-day items. Everyone is greeted with a WWII Era C-47 airplane along with many others displayed where you can walk up and take a closer look. We were there on a day honoring and recognizing Vietnam Veterans. There were several food vendors and some reenactments going on in the back acreage. This museum was featured on the television show American Pickers. The collections here are astounding, and so are the dedicated volunteers who are constantly updating displays, giving tours, and taking in donations of militaria to the museum. 🎁The gift shop is right inside the main building, so you can easily pop in and grab a gift or two without having to pay an admission. Current pricing is: Adults $5 Veterans & Seniors $7 Kids 5-17 years old $5 Children under 5 FREE The Annex is the newest addition that houses many WWII displays, including a couple of Rosie the Riveters'. It has a nice clean bathroom and very friendly greeters.

An wide collection of equipment covering all the wars America has been in, the museum was a pleasant change from the usual static display that most museums feature. The real treats are the German bunker outside and inside the Annex.

Neat place with a bunch of cool old military equipment. They have a real bunker replica, planes, tanks, trucks, jeeps, all terrain vehicles and even a replica submarine! All of these things are outside. They have two buildings full of military memorabilia, equipment, uniforms and more. The inside requires tickets to be purchased, you can explore the outside for free.
