5 stars is not enough. Luca, the owner has brought a piece of Italy to Hermosa Beach. My wife’s family is Italian, and believe me it is hard to find authentic food in comparison to her family’s home cooking. Sosta’s menu is incredible, and every dish we ordered was fresh, beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a truly authentic Italian experience. We will definitely be back!

Holy Moses, where to start on this review. It might be a long one, just warning you. My husband and I had just got back from eloping in Santa Barbara where we spent six days eating and drinking. We live in Hermosa Beach. We thought we would have our last meal in our home town before getting back to reality from our wedding weekend. We live down the street and have been wanting to come to Sosta for a long time. (We frequent the Sosta caffe in the morning, strongly recommend going! Shout out to Hugo and Victor!!) We came last Monday night so the restaurant was quiet which we expected. It was nice since it felt like we had the restaurant to ourselves. It's such a vibe at this restaurant. We ate inside. Our server, Giorgio was absolutely fantastic! We mentioned we were finishing off our food tour from our wedding weekend, and they treated us with extra excitement and kindness, which was not expected but always nice. They have a smaller menu but we were surprised to find they had a whole truffle menu and a side of specials. We were already having a tough time choosing from the regular menu! So many incredible options. We ended up getting: -bottle of Nebbiolo that our server picked - one of the best wines I've had. - crudo yellow tail -gnocchi Gorgonzola (ordered another after because it was so good) My husband hates Gorgonzola but tried these and it changed his life, he can't stop talking about them! -a pasta from the specials list that was a light fettuccine with slow cooked baby back rib meat - we asked the chef to surprise us with the New York strip or Prime Ribeye - we got the ribeye!! Cooked to perfection. -tiramisu Just some side notes: -They bring you fresh bread and drop it on the table with olive oil, I just loved that! -Giorgio switched the music to all Sade - I'm a big Sade fan. It was such a vibe the whole night. -We took our sweet time ordering one dish after the next. -Yes, at first glance food looks pricey when reading the menu but the food justifies this price. So sit back relax and enjoy it all. That's what we did! Overall, ambiance - perfection, staff - hospitable and kind, food - melting in my mouth with every bite. Chef Luca's menu is perfectly on point! Go give this restaurant all your love. We are counting down the days to go back. Thank you!!!!!!

Not only is this the best coffee in Hermosa (& honestly, one of my favorite coffee shops in the USA- and trust me, i’ve been to my fair share) The dinner here is a true italian experience. You won’t be disappointed by the quality of the food you will eat, but what makes this place the best is the people who are here to give us the best experience ever. A MUST- but be aware, you’ll be hooked once you come here :)

This is the nicest cafe/coffee shop I’ve ever been to, and they make homemade cornettos (croissants) every morning! It’s elegant, has incredible service, feels like a lounge, fast wifi, sun-filled… it’s just perfect. You need to feel it for yourself!

I had a light breakfast here. They had only coffee and fresh baked croissants 🥐

Great experience, very reminiscent of our time in Italy. The emphasis on simple, high quality ingredients was evident in every dish. Giorgio was a great host and guide through the menu. Looking forward to our next visit.

Very good food and service, just extremely expensive. For 6 of us the bill was $1400 (tip included). We ordered the cutting board appetizer, steak, mushroom specials, wine, but it was still a bit eye opening when the check arrived. The wait staff was phenomenal. Almost out of a movie because the guy told us about the specials like we were in a high end Italian restaurant in the heart of Rome. It was quite impressive. They were very attentive. Everything was delicious. But just know it's going to be expensive.

Usually I have dinner here. Today (Saturday) I was walking by and noticed they were serving. I stopped and asked, and was delighted to learn that Sosta Cucina is now serving Aperativo on Saturday and Sundays. What is Aperativo you ask ? Wine and spritzers as well as charcuterie boards and some cold salads. Needless to say the staff are amazing and so friendly, the food was of course delicious.

As though you're in Italy... exceptional ambiance, perfect music, amazing food, steak cooked perfectly medium rare. Suggestions: allow the staff to choice the wine with your entre choice. ❤️

It’s very seldom that there is nothing to complain. Best food, great wine, cozy atmosphere and a super service.

It was our first time dining here and we had a wonderful experience. I love the ambiance and layout, it's rather intimate, a great spot for a date night. The service was great from the hostess to our waiter and the dishes were simple yet very flavorful. Great spot for a romantic night out. Extensive wine selection too. Highly recommend.

Sosta’s coffee and espresso drinks are excelled and their croissants are life affirming, however, they are in limited supply, so get there early if you want one! The staff is super friendly and service can’t be beat. Love the location and atmosphere. Only wish I lived closer so I could hang out here more often
