My dog loves it. We go at least twice a week when it's not too hot out. Well maintained. Lots of space for free play, multiple trails with varying degrees of difficulty.

Absolute favorite place. It’s so clean and large with so many options - The trails, the lake, the path. I try to go here as much as I can with my dogs! They love it.

The best dog park in the greater KC area I've been to. It can be crowded on weekends. It's about a half mile from the entrance to the lake on the paved paths. The unpaved paths can feel like you're in the wilderness if you go early or late enough. Dress appropriately and swim or run around on the ice with your dogs, depending on the season.

By far the best dog park in the KC area. Ample parking on all but the busiest day/time, plenty of trash cans and poop bags. On site permanent toilets that are clean. Best draw is of course the dog beach, which is wonderful. Walk down and up is exerting for a fat man like me but very doable, even my 75 year old disabled mom can get there. Make sure to try the wooded paths to each side of the main paved walkway at least once. Doesn't have too much shade in the front portion of park so bring a hat and sunscreen on a hot day.

This is one of the best Dog Parks I've been to in the greater KC area. Very spacious, beautiful views and a fun lake for the dogs to swim in. There is a paved pathway down to the lake, it's probably about 1/4 mile long. There is also a steep hill to go down as you approach the lake. There are benches and a flat rock wall to sit on while you watch your pooches play. You can also get in the water with them if you prefer! My Corgi loves this place, it's hard to get her out of the water! To get back to the parking lot, you can either go back the way you came or there is another path that is more of a switch back that is not a direct incline but gets your heart going.

Always a great park. It’s been a while since I reviewed but it’s worth noting that I still love this park and it is still 5 stars. Well kept and good parking. Only challenge is the volume of people going through here and there are some owners who do not clean up after their dog. This is to be expected of any dog park so why would I ding the park for this? Thanks to those who maintain SMP!

This is hands down my favorite dog park in the KC area. Huge fenced area for your buddy to run around. I have a big guy who runs for days and this place has the room for it. With open tracts for fetch, trails through the woods for a walk or the lake for a quick dip it has it all. Clean, well maintained just a lovely place. New bathrooms, well maintained path and a great beach.

Very large area for the dogs to run and play. The gravel beech and water access is awesome. Very well kept and clean. This was a great experience to take our pet, as seems like everyone pays attention to their pets and makes sure they aren't displaying aggressive behaviors etc. Will definitely return!

Love this off leash park. My dog runs free and is happy to sniff all the trees/trails/buttocks of other pups. It has doggy waste bins and bags all around the park, as well as a few benches to sit upon. The beach is the best part, especially in the summer, as the dogs can jump in to the water and fetch their balls/sticks or just paddle around the water. The parking situation is better, and they recently put in human bathrooms (rather than just portapotties) so the park is really coming together!

Very long walk in unleashed area to the water. Not the best for in tact male dogs but a beautiful place for your off leash dog

Amazing! Let your dog run free! Nice bathrooms. Poop Bags everywhere. Paved trail or rocky dirt trail, whatever you prefer. And the best part is they have a dog beach!

Sometimes I have to pinch myself to realize how fortunate we are to live in an area with such a beautiful park.

My dog loved this park. Lot of area to roam (and get lost if you aren't watching your dog). She is a water baby. There is access to the water, shady forest trails and wide open grass. What more could you ask for.

This is a great place for letting your dog off leash. There are many trails for you and your canine family members to explore. Thr Beach and lake are a great place for your dogs to enjoy the water.

This is a near daily trip for us with a puppy and it is a wonderful dog park. Concrete path to the lake and hiking trails through wooded areas. Too any people decide not to clean up after their dog, but the people and pets and typically kind and playful.

Only off leash clean dog lake here in Johnson county that I know of. We love going there and let our pup swim in the lake and run/play there. He loves to play fetch in the water.

A beautiful park. Wish they had a shorter or easier way for senior dog to get to the water. My lab would love this, however the walk is tooooo long.

Enjoying taking my dog here. They made lots of improvements, concrete walkway all the way to the lake, restrooms, double gate for entering the park and separate gate for leaving, very impressed.

Love this park! Couple of water stations at the front of the park along with dog waste bags. It’s mostly fenced, until you get down to the waterfront, and enables you to work with your dog on off-leash training. Would highly recommend for any pup who enjoys the water.

Great park. Lots of walking trails. Dogs can swim in the lake then dry off on the walk back to the car. My #1 dog park. My two Labradors agree.

Used to live in the area 11 years ago and we used to go to this park all the time. 11 years later and this park is still the best dog park I have ever gone to. It is well maintained, people need to pick up their dog's poop, but otherwise still a beautiful park.

I’m new to living in the Lenexa area. Found out about the dog park so decided to take my pup! She loved it and the dog beach was a nice treat.
