This was breathtaking. So simple but done so well. There’s a smaller exhibit indoors and then outside in the botanical garden you can view the ceremonial grounds they uncovered. Look closely sin we we say iguanas in the trees too!

This is a great place to visit to learn about indigenous cultures, not just in Puerto Rico but around the Caribbean. It's free to visit and there's an awesome guide dog he took us to the indigenous site and was kind enough to wait by the bridge for us and lead us along the path and then bring us back to the main building. Don't know if he's official or a trained but it was a nice touch. If you're looking for something nice to do that won't cost you any money. This definitely will be a great place for you to check out.

A hidden gem sharing the history of the indigenous folks. The space is beautiful and the staff are super friendly. A must see!

Very informative about the Taino heritage and culture. Very peaceful and somber place. The staff go out of their way to talk about the place and it's history.

We had an amazing experience. The gentleman at the front desk was fully bilingual and extremely gracious. There is a small gallery with pieces made by a local artist. The main museum, while small, is packed with artifacts excavated from the site. Signage inside the museum and along the path to the site are in English and Spanish. We highly recommend it if you are in the vicinity of Ponce.

Wonderfully done exhibits and outdoor archeological site to explore. You can read the exhibits in Spanish or English. There is no admission fee.

Awesome to see and learn how "Tibes" was discovered after a hurricane in 1975. The history, the artifact and the culture of multiple islands accross the caribbean where the Tainos left their legacy for us to enjoy today.

This is a great indoor/outdoor museum to learn more about Puerto Rico's rich Taino history (and free!). When we first arrived, a resident dog, known locally as a self-taught tour guide, greeted us at our car and walked us all the way up to the entrance of the museum itself. There are two small areas to visit at the entrance, both filled with a lot of great information, portraits, and artifacts of the Tainos. From there, you can walk down a set of steps towards the ceremonial plazas after crossing a bridge above a stream. The tour dog will lead the way and wait for you if you take too long (he just watched me while I took photos, lol, like why are you taking so long). The tour dog runs about the property while you walk on a dirt path through beautiful trees, many of them Higueras, until you finally see the plazas. The area is grassy, but not tall. Even though it's in busy Ponce, it's quiet and calm. It's perfect to sit down and just enjoy the peace and how close you feel to the ancestors that once lived there. The resident tour guide dog walked us back, but not after coming back for me when I stepped off the trail. He will definitely make sure you are safe and coming back! Once back, we spoke to a gentleman who told us the story about how the dog taught himself to be a tour guide as he watched and joined the actual tour guide during all the school trips. Know that he does not demand pets or jump on you. He will just rest while you enjoy the museum and scenery. This is truly a beautiful place and worth the visit!

This place is great for historical buffs and like minded people. Definitely looks like it needs funding and help, like the rest of the island. It will eventually get back to splendor, in due time.

I was able to learn where my ancestors came from and how they lived. The problem the Centro Ceremonial is is facing is the lack of financial support. Ever since hurricane Maria the government of Puerto Rico does not have the funds to help repair and support the center.

A historic and archaeological treasure trove. The area is well maintained and the resources are very well interpreted. English translations could be improved though…

One of if not the most significant archeological site in the Antilles. Good exhibits on the site and history, which dates back to the earliest known human settlement on the island. The site itself is pleasant to visit and explore. Unfortunately, the day we visited they were not providing tours, but still well worth the visit.

This was a lovely way to learn about local history! It's well cared for with interesting artifacts, staff was friendly. We came on our first day and it's added a nice context to the trip. We only had an hour before our next event and a few more minutes would have been nice to read all of the material, but we did see everything. Everything is in English and Spanish, which is great. The indoor spots are air conditioned to boot. Can't beat the free price!

Very educational visit. Displays are in two different rooms then you go to the botanical garden and post it, to the excavated area. There are various tenants of stone structures but no explanation panel, because archaeologists are not sure what each structure was meant for. Smoke parking, visit is free, the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. We felt personally and warmly welcome.

Wonderful collection and descriptions provided. The garden was beautiful to walk through and seeing the ceremonial areas was an honor.

Very nice, just wished their museum had more attention to detail for example better descriptive postings under their free standing sculptures, or a timeliness of how some of the Taino traditions, etc has influenced throughout the culture to current. Also a tour guide for the grounds

One of the most important, and accessible, archeological sites in PR. The free entry gives you access to a small museum showcasing the trajectory of the various indigenous peoples of Puerto Rico (Borinquen) from the oldest known inhabitants of the puertorrican archipelago (archaic) to the Taínos that were living here when the Spaniards arrived in the 15th century. Next to the museum there's a small gallery, currently exhibiting paintings by artist José Balay Ruiz. The main attraction are the open air areas, which include a botanical garden and the archeological area. The latter is compose primarily by a series of stone-demarcated areas (7 bateyes and 2 plazas).

It needs more to it!! It doesn't have a guided tour around the park explaining the rock formations on the floor & the surrounding nature.

Needs some TLC but is informative, nice kids' experience to learn more about taino indians. Needs more signs around.

Se nota la falta de interes de parte del gobierno, claramente no le interesa nuestra cultura y nuestra historia. Una experiencia bonita; pero, le falta más empleados o guías para hacer la experiencia mejor. It's very clear the lack of interest from the local government, the lack of pride & honor of Puertorican culture is very sad. To see such beautiful place in such bad state is VERY SAD, ALMOST TRAGIC!!. It needs more employees or guides with knowledge of the park, for a much interesting experience.

This place us very interesting and has a great potential. Sadly the employees are trying to maintained. They need to add some benches and other things to be welcoming.

Very nice place. Definitely need more visitors to help the place come up a little bit but the place is great as it is. Very nice people and quiet place to visit study or just relax. Very much worth the drive.

Very cool archeological site. History and artifacts are very interesting. Well worth the couple of dollars to get in with the large mound areas you get to walk around and the clean restrooms and water fountain.

It's pretty cool, seen some of the stone work, and a huge lizard walking around.
