Bus driver told me ticket was around $10 to $14 (got on and gave her my passport to pay at station), when the cashier told me it was ACTUALLY around $20, and I had to pay $17.25. ALSO, the cruddy rent-a-cops picked on me and harassed me. One of them ONLY asked me if I had a ticket before he asked anyone else. I asked this man, aren't you going to ask other people if they also have tickets? He replied "Yes." I told him I don't appreciate being harassed. He said "No. No? No.". That's the guy in the picture. What a low-life place. I would try and have a different station as your stop, not Bakersfield. It's only 80% awful.

I was there for a transfer from train to bus the week before Thanksgiving. What a madhouse and total confusion. Not to sound negative but you would think that the staff would be prepared for pre-holiday crowds and have directional signage near each bus. Those small headliners above each coach are not easily visible to specially challenged folk. Whether you be a senior, a child, handicapped or just plain short like me, it sure would have made life much more relaxing.

This guy at the desk was super helpful to me...helped me with my suitcases. Helped me get my things put away right. Very nice. Most of the time amtrack people are not so kind, but he made my trip so much less stressful!! Thank You!

Barely got here on time, nice staff, big seating area and outside covered area. Inexpensive tickets buy online and use ur e-ticket to get on board. Use the train to sleep be online, read, eat, instead of having to drive by yourself to NAPA and anywhere in between.

By far the most uneducated group people I've ever come across in my life they didn't even know the own area they could not tell me the section names where the buses would come in not only that did they mislead me on where I could find a particular bus which made me walk around for about an hour and a half looking for something that was not there

Trains come on time, and even if you have to wait it's a beautiful place to be.

Train was 4 to 5 hr late UNBELIEVABLE was dumped off in Barstow took bus to Bakersfield. Workers in Bakersfield and the Fresno station are rude and disrespectful. Didn't load my wife's suitcase's on the train she is on now we have to play find the luggage and I have called and no one seems to know anything or care typical California Amtrak workers if I was able to give - stars they would get a -5 stars for the lack of competency. Knowledge and politeness

A great way to get to LAX from Bakersfield is to take the Amtrak Thruway bus to LA Union Station, then pick up the LAX Flyaway bus ($9.75) in the Patsaouras bus plaza at Union Station. Due to a ticketing quirk, you have to buy an Amtrak ticket from Bakersfield to Fullerton (but just exit at Union Station). It's a fraction of the cost of an Uber (at least $120 -$150) but takes only a little longer.

Safety at RISK! Bus 🚌 5919 from Van Nuys to Bakersfield. This is the San Joaquin bus. The driver is extremely lax, lazy, has broken several laws..and doesn't keep eyes on road or both hands on wheel. She tailgates cars ..this is scary bc her lack of paying attention and the weight of this bus already decrease her reaction and stopping time. We almost got in an accident before Newhall. Apparently, she forgot her routes. The trip started with her getting over several lanes from HOV . Over double yellow lines (they broke soon after, and she could have safely got over and not missed exit She takes her eyes off the road several times to eat sunflower seeds, often drives with one hand !! And the really bad thing is she talks and texts while operating this actually heavier than normal bus This lady is way too lax, and if we crash or if she does, it's her fault

The person working in baggage claim at 8:30pm on 10/20/2023 is intoxicated while working. She told me my bag was lost then found it right in front of her 30 minutes later. Not a good experience.
