I have been going to this medical clinic, to see my family doctor for over 18 years. All of the staff is friendly except for one woman. She works behind the front desk. I don't know her name, but she is in her 50's to 60's, has long grey hair and piercing blue eyes. My boyfriends four year old son got a check up here, and received a flu shot. My doctor, Dr. Elizabeth Turnage told me that the shot is covered by the state and that it would be free to me. I go up to the front desk to pay, and the woman is showing a new receptionist how to receive payments etc. She is telling the new receptionist how to total up all of the cost when she says that the flu shot is $14.00. I respectfully tried to explain that my doctor told me that it free, and her entire demeanor changed. She stared at me with her mouth open for a few seconds and then said in a confrontational tone, "well its free to people who can't afford it." Shocked at her rudeness I stammered, "ok, well I can't afford it." She huffed and VERY loudly told the receptionist to write a note in the computer saying that 'the patient' cannot afford the shot. Then she went on again saying to write a note saying that I cannot afford it. As she walked away she yelled again to the receptionist to write down that I cold not afford it. I was shocked and humiliated. I cannot believe the disgusting behavior that she displayed. Completely unprofessional. There are lots of other horrible reviews on here about the rude staff and I can say with confidence that they are about her.

What a RUDE front desk staff this office has. The woman sitting at the desk actually yelled at me to across the room to come fill out my paperwork while I was sitting in the waiting room to see the doctor. I didn't feel good to begin with, but as I approached the counter, she almost threw the clipboard of paperwork at me while she was on the phone. Discourteous staff. I might need to look at my list of healthcare providers one more time and find a new clinic in town.

I love my doctor, however I find it unprofessional and inappropriate for the front desk to announce your balance that insurance did not cover. Asking for the copay or what is due at your visit is understandable. Anything else should be dealt with by the billing office.

This review is solely based on those I was in contact with, so there may be a few good mixed in with the bad I was fortunate enough to deal with. I met with Dr. Sherry Celete Spacek-Llanas regarding a few issues I was having and my first initial impression was less than positive, but I continued to see her. Her bedside manner was nowhere near where it needed to be considering she is fresh out of school. Never once smiled, and never made an attempt to connect with me as a patient. I continued to see her because I know there are different personality types and figured she was good enough to make it through medical school so she must be good. Every discussion after that was the same and never really helped me with any of my issues because she didn't take the time to listen. She requested that I see someone else in the building for a second opinion and I agreed just because this is not my area of expertise. I met with the second opinion that their office setup and assumed this other person would be in my network because it was in the same building and office. I suppose this was on me because I should have asked this when they setup my appointment rather than assuming the office would look at my insurance they have on file and check before making any appointments. Several hundred dollars later, I am still running into brash behavior and they refuse to setup automatic refills on medication that every other doctor's office considers normal. After several instances I consider to be poor customer/patient service I am finding my medical assistance elsewhere. For those that work well with that type of personality, this place may be great for you. For the many others that find it very difficult to work with, I HIGHLY recommend you keep on looking for someone or somewhere else.

This clinic has really went down hill the past year. I filed a complaint and hate doing that. Its takes a lot for me to complain but I'm at my breaking point with the Doctors and nurses here. I been a patient of Hillcrest for years back when they had good old Dr. Railsback so its bitter sweet I'm having to consider going somewhere else.

I did my annual today. And it was my first time doing an annual check up. I had Ms. Grant, and she was super nice.I would go back to her again. Anything I had questions about she answered.

My doc is an awesome doc! He cares about the patient and the family as a whole. He is quick, but not so quick that he misses things. His nurses, are awesome too! They care, they show compassion, and they are friendly. They make you feel like family. Dr. Hulme and Shay and Crystel are the best!

This is the best Doctor’s office we have ever been patients at. And imho, our doctor is the very best.

No wait time to check in. Only had to wait a couple of minutes before I was called back. Desk employee was polite and helpful. Nurse was friendly. Only had to wait a few minutes before I was seen by the doctor. Super friendly. Listened to me, acknowledged what I was saying. Discussed the best avenue of treatment.

Do NOT come here if you are uninsured. Honestly, don't come here at all, but I'll get to that in a moment. As an uninsured person whose partner urged me to get a checkup, I very specifically asked what my charges would be. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I was told it would only be slightly over $100! Now, they're undoubtedly going to reply to this and say I was misinformed or misheard things, but I think we can all agree that being charged almost FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for a "preventative exam" and a flu shot is unacceptable, regardless of what I "misheard." I put the former in quotes because going to this practice felt like being put through a cattle chute. The team aren't interested in listening to your problems, they just want to get you in and out as quickly as possible. If I'd wanted them to hear me out, I would have had to make a second appointment (right, like I'm gonna shell out this much money again to be hustled through a line). In addition, I asked the nurse to price out what a flu vaccine would cost. She came back and said it was under $30. So why is it that I'm being charged over $40? Again, I'm sure someone will reply and try to make me look like I misheard things. If there were extra charges, I SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD. Thank God I didn't get the blood work or the pap smear they tried to get me to do. I'd be over $1000 in debt. The greater irony is that before I left, the receptionist told me to wait to be billed before paying for the flu shot, because she had a feeling I'd been OVERcharged. Ha! I'd already left with a bad taste in my mouth, given their rushing (and the nurse could barely keep her head on straight, kept forgetting to do things)... Now knowing they charge this much, I'll go find someone else for medical care when my insurance kicks in. Of course it won't hurt their bottom dollar, they've got plenty of other cattle to shove through the line.
