We went to the Caladesi Island by taking a ferry from Honeymoon Island State Park. We reached the Honeymoon Island around 1:00pm. The tickets to the ferry are on first come first basis. We got our tickets around 1:30pm. We had to wait for One and half hour to board the ferry. The ferry took 20 minutes from Honeymoon island to Caladesi Island. The island was a beautiful island with the beach, nature trail and a small cafe for food and drinks. We stayed at Caladesi Island for four hours loving our time before boarding the ferry back to Honeymoon Island State Park.

Highly recommend kayaking across the channel from the Honeymoon Island causeway to Caladesi Island. Check the tides and wind/weather before going out bc it can be difficult coming back in from the Gulf against an outgoing tide. I've had to walk my yak back over the sandbars on low tide plenty of times lol you'll likely see a dolphin pod if you watch closely 🐬

This was an incredible experience! We walked from Clearwater Beach Surfside condos to Caladesi Island. It was a very hot day. Bring LOTS of water. It's over 2 miles to walk there but well worth it!

I loved the boat ride and seeing dolphins. The beach is nice and the water is clean and clear. I was a little disappointed, it’s your usual beach… It’s a nice place to go when you don’t want to be around a lot of people, especially first thing in the morning. You can bring your own chairs and umbrella with you ( I highly recommend because the cost on the beach is high) I also recommend bringing snacks and your own food, the shop is expensive $$ also. I will go back and recommend others to attend to support the park and enjoy nature.

A great little get away. We usually arrive by private boat or kayaking from the honeymoon causeway. There is a fee for docking your boat The beach is ADA accessible with special wheelchairs. Amenities include: beach lounger and umbrella rentals, concession stand (a little pricy but the burgers, chicken tenders, and fries are good), small gift shop (apparel, beach toys, sunblock, and other touristy things).

Beautiful, relaxing private island oasis. Food concession available and able to rent umbrella/chairs but at $35 for 2 chairs & umbrella. $18 ferry ride over unless you arrive by boat, kayak or paddle board... only way there. Entrance to ferry thru honeymoon island which is additional cost so could be a $50 day for 1 person. 4 hr turn around on ferry. Those are downsides but pros are it not overcrowded, water & wildlife beautiful!

ABSOUTELY the MOST fantastic island I have seen. Only a limited number of people on the beach at a time,. Ferry runs often and its worse the wait. You feel like you are on an island all by yourself.. BEAUTIFUL

It’s just another beach. Nothing special about the sand or the shells. You have to pay a park fee to enter Honeymoon and then more fees to get on the ferry to go over. The ferry isn’t on an exact schedule and they are more first come first serve. For both arrival and departure you sit in a shelter to wait for the boat and when it arrives everyone crowds the door with no line or order so it doesn’t matter if you just walked up or have been sitting for 20min. The ferry ride is short but not very scenic. On the way back, your ticket gives you priority if you board at the time printed and then anyone else can board after. If you’re going for just a beach trip its not worth it.

If you’re heading over to Honeymoon Island, make sure to head over to Caladesi Island since it’s just nearby. Both islands boast natural and unspoiled beauty that you’ll surely love. It’s one of the few untouched islands along the Gulf Coast that offers an array of activities for all ages. You can stroll along the pristine beaches or go on a kayak trip and many more.

The island doesn't have as many amenities as some other popular destinations. It's the perfect place to unplug and get back to nature I recommend to bring you own chairs and umbrella. While some aspects of the island were similar to Honeymoon Park, I highly recommend this island to anyone looking for a beautiful, off-the-beaten-path destination

Beautiful beach. I will come back another time to explore the island more. The ferry boat ride over is a bit expensive but the captain is super knowledgeable.

Such a fun day in what felt like a private paradise! The staff were all so welcoming, from the ticket booth agent and the Ferry captain to everyone on the island. The white sand beach was mesmerizing! We had lunch from the hut on the island - good lunch food, also had a Pina colada! The ferry ride to and from was through the mangroves and was absolutely beautiful! Even had a dolphin ride along us for a while! Can't wait to go back again!

Spectacular island to visit with kayak for a full day. You can rent there for 1 or 2 people kayak, and the guys over there are very kind and recommends for you to have a wonderful an quiet summer day! You must try it!

Best island ever, the ferry was perfect, the water was perfect, the captain driving the ferry was very polite, and we got to see dolphins! Seashells galore, food in the concession building/nice seating at the beach for rent plus an umbrella for shade. They also have a nice nature walk you can walk on, very relaxing. Coming back next vacation!

A hidden gem that deserves a visit from you, your friends and your family! I’ve lived in Florida my whole life and been to many different beaches, but nothing beats Caladesi’s beauty so close to Tampa Bay. I’ve been told many times by friends to make the visit over and I wish I had done it sooner. You’ll enter through Honeymoon island which is currently $8 per car and once you’re through the gates you’ll take a left into the Caledesi ferry parking lot and pay $18 per person for a ride there and back. The lovely thing about this island is they only allow a certain amount of people on it at a time so you’re bound to find a secluded spot to enjoy the sun, sea and sand. The day we came was sunny and gorgeous, not a cloud in the sky but with that being said make sure you bring an umbrella and lots of sunscreen. We applied 3 times in our span of 3 hours being there and still got burnt in some places. The boat ride over is quick and the captain and crew are wonderful! Captain Peter gave us lots of facts about the island as well as the surrounding animals and plant life. If you’re lucky you’ll also get to see some dolphins swimming on by! Caladesi Island is a beautiful location to relax if you’re looking to get away somewhere closer to home!

Had an amazing first time experience visiting the island on ferry boat. The beach was nice and uncrowded. Will def return
