I'm surprised at the ratings. I received an inflated price list for parts and labor. I went to 3 different locations and finally found an honest car repair shop. What I found most disturbing about Peak Auto is the person I was talking to sounded frustrated that I didn't move forward with the unnecessary and easy repairs. Some of what was on the quote was correct, but the amount of fluff to jack up the price was a bit much. My advise, get a second opinion.

My husband and I found this auto shop from the Google reviews and I promise you I have no idea why they are rated so high!!!! we went in for possible brake service and after leaving the vehicle there they called us back a short while later and explain that we needed front and brake pads and rotors and the job was gonna cost us close to $700. Unfortunately that’s not something my husband and I can afford so we decided to pick up the vehicle and not use their shop. We were not told that there was gonna be a charge to look at the brakes and on the way home my car husband‘s Engine sounded strange like nothing we had heard before. We got the vehicle home and open the hood and noticed that they left the Air filter casing open and forgot to lock the clips in place which was causing the noise. For the life of me I have no idea why they were looking in the air filter case and forgot to close it. A few days later we took my husband’s car to another shop that only quoted us $350 for a brake job and after the mechanic had put the car on the lift he called us to let us know that the car did not need brakes whatsoever, the brakes were fine and in fact It was actually the front driver side axle that was leaking a bit that needed to be repaired. Peak auto tried to pull one over us and charge us for something that was not needed. Shame on them for such awful business practices!!!! If you were thinking about going to the shop please get yourself a second opinion!!!!

I'm so thrilled that I discovered Peak Auto!!! Daran and crew did a wonderful job on my 09 Mini. Service was timely and I couldn't be happier! I have never needed to use the waiting room; however, it looks comfortable with plenty of magazines and books. There are snacks and beverages available, too! This past summer my car needed a new clutch and oil repairs --their quote was very fair and the work done was quality and completed in a timely manner. They gave me a loaner, too! Thank you, Peak!

Great experience once again. Matt kept me well informed about the progress of the repairs on my BMW. It was returned to me washed and in perfect running order. Peak Auto customer service is top-notch. ---------------------- Professional and courteous service, as always. I appreciate their attention to detail, loaner cars, and complimentary wash/interior cleaning. John kept me informed about the diagnosis of my BMW, when it would be ready, and also noticed a brake fluid change was due. I proactively maintain my vehicles so I can drive them and depend on them for many miles, Peak Auto is an excellent partner in this effort.. I've been very happy with their services since 2014. ----------------- July 2018 visit for an oil change/maintenance service on my Porsche, state inspection, and convertible top mechanism repair. Peak did a 50 point check to identify any emerging issues, washed the car before I picked it up, and provided a loaner vehicle. Daran and John are both very knowledgeable and courteous, they kept me informed about diagnosis/repair and when it would be completed. Peak Auto does excellent work and is easy to do business with.

They are honest and professionals. Highly recommend for BMW since it's hard to find good reliable repair shop. I did my first service to Peak auto on 2022 November due to check engine line for my 2016 BMW 740 I. It was related to O2 sensor. They said it was due to loose assembly and nothing wrong with the sensor. They fixed it without additional cost. Recommended spark plug change since it was more than 80k miles. I had a warning related to 'Air suspension' in 2023 march. Went again, but their diagnostic device was broken. Since the warning was consistent, I went to another shop around the same area (Cary/Apex). They also had good rating. But their service was horrible. Recommended software upgrade, which didn't fix the problem and then end up changing 'Air Suspension and Distribution block'. For the suspension change initially they quoted $5000. Later negotiated to $2900 after getting quote from Peak auto for the same price. Never go again.

I was looking for a general repair shop in the Apex area. Landed on Peak Auto after seeing all of the positive reviews. Communication (via e-mail and phone) was excellent and timely. Explanation of the issues and the work needed (intake/exhaust solenoid replacement, oil change, spark plugs, cabin filter) was explained nicely and not in a pushy way. No work was completed until I gave approval to do so. Work was completed in a matter of hours and car pickup was a breeze. Issue seems to be resolved, and it was less expensive than I anticipated. Definitely will return in the future.

GREAT experience! Peak Auto personnel were highly professional and friendly from drop off and updates to pick up. They clearly explained all issues, prioritized them as to which needed done immediately and which could wait which was appreciated. Great Service, fair pricing, very organized, and easy to contact as well. Will DEFINITELY return!

I needed a diagnosis of a possible leak in the block of my auto. They completed and gave me a a video of the results. Excellent work for a much lower price than I had earlier experienced.

Peak Auto takes excellent care of my car. I have been bringing our cars there for years. They always listen to my concerns, keep me informed about maintenance needed, explain what needs to be fixed and why, and let me know the cost before they do any work. My car always sounds and drives better after visiting Peak Auto, and I will continue to go there for anything my car needs.

Was having issues with my mini and they were able to explain the issue to me & repair in a very reasonable amount of time. Cost was also far more reasonable than the dealership planned. The shop I was using prior misdiagnosed the issue and they were able to pivet to get to the actual problem. Highly recommend them here.

Matt was great! He took the time to not only explain, but actually show me what was going on with my vehicle while they still had it up on a lift. Thanks!!

Really courteous and professional service - they are able to look at our vehicle at short notice after the engine seized up and were helpful in laying out the options and helping us resolve things.

They’re so helpful and they exactly know what they do. Also they gave me a substitute car until my car is ready.

Matt, John, and Darren were easy to work with. My vehicle (part of my fleet) was making some road noise, and I suspected a wheel bearing issue. The team was able to confirm this via diagnosis (in less than 2 hours) and was also able to e-mail me a quote for the repairs at my request. I was able to also work with the team to find a replacement wheel bearing assembly at a discount which Peak Auto graciously accommodated in their final quote. The labor seemed to be on the higher end, but I can't complain with the turnaround (as I needed the car repaired quickly) and customer service, and I was able to maintain my budget. Overall, my experience with them was excellent. Drop off and pick up process was a breeze, and the car is doing well so far!

Matt is always so friendly and helpful. It's especially nice that Peak Auto has loaner vehicles as I work in north Raleigh. Great service and reasonable rates.

I took my new (used) car there for the pre-purchase inspection, and they were excellent. They were very thorough and explained everything very well. They even saved me some money as I had one of the issues they mentioned paid for by the seller. I'll be taking my car to them for maintenance and service!

Excellent Service, Fair Pricing and Friendly Technicians. Feels like old time service shops who focus on servicing cars correctly without ripping off customers like what dealership service centers specialize in!

First time taking my E90 Bimmer. Needed 75000 mile service and had a small leak around valve cover. John contacted me, let me know what the technician discovered and went over in detail the cost and repair time. John is extremely professional and knowledgeable. Price was reasonable, service was done properly. They are thorough and quick to diagnose issues. I will always take my Bimmer there. Great business!

These Guys Are Rite On Point, Along The Lines Of, If Not Better, Than The Dealership.. Very Courteous, Professional, Helpful And Offers Fair Options, While Working With You, Unlike Dealerships That Only Want You To Buy Their Expensive Servicing Packages..

Great job from the first phone call to the quick repair of my car. They looked everything over and let me know in detail what it would take to get my car running as well as what it would take to get it back it too shape. I highly recommend Peak Auto!

Even though I only use this service for simple oil changes, they treat me like a bigger customer. I especially like the free use of their loaners when I drop off my car. I will continue to use Peak Auto.

Peak Auto diagnosed and replaced the water pump and thermostat on my vehicle. Service was thorough and time efficient. Prior to the repair John discussed the possible issues with the vehicle and the price I would expect to pay for repairs. Before releasing the car, Daran test drove it to make sure the car was running properly. When I picked up the car, the details of the work were explained thoroughly. Suggestions for care and future maintenance were also offered. Peak Auto's staff is very professional and helpful. I will continue to use them for service and repairs.

Peak provides excellent service especially as they specialize in complicated imports. There are few repair shops that i recommend but Peak is definitely on that list. They are knowledgeable and will steer you correctly if there are dealer only repairs necessary. I was even able to wait for trim repairs. Use them with confidence.

I usually don’t write reviews but Peak Auto provide excellent service! They were able to get my car serviced in one day which was very convenient. Also, they were very nice and answered my questions every time I called them. I definitely would recommend this shop to anyone.

AC was out, so we took it in- they were very timely with the repair. Picked it up on a Friday, and by Sunday, the AC wasn't working again! I called first thing Monday morning, they said to bring it in. Picked it up Tuesday- all fixed! I appreciated the service because it could have been a nightmare. As much as I would have liked to have had it fixed the first time, they made it right, and that's what matters. I definitely recommend.

So I'm sitting down and reviewing the quotation for service from our last trip to the local Mercedes dealership. The final straw was pulling out from a scheduled service only to have the check engine light come on. A return trip and $160.00 later, we received an estimate to replace the thermostat at roughly $700.00. This seemed excessive. After doing some research on this service and local shops that work on Mercedes, we came across Peak Auto. They responded quickly to an online quote request and had excellent reviews. We scheduled our service and they had us in and up and running for much less then the dealers estimate. After taking a look at our car, nearing the 11 year old mark, they provided pricing on additional needs. All estimates were much less then the dealer had quoted and in fact many of the things the dealer quoted were not necessary. Honest service at fair prices. We are sold on Peak and highly recommend giving them a try.

Peak Auto is a great company. Have been here several times over the years and always get reliable, friendly, technically professional service and repairs. Just had my rotors/pads replaced on my Audi for 30% less than the dealer quoted.

I took my E70 X5 there for two reasons. 1) My trusted shop in Raleigh for 5 yrs - West German Garage wasn't picking up phone 2) I want some one near my place who works when I bring in my parts. I asked for Oil Change, Full Brake fluid flush and renew, Front rotor change. Although, they did all of it, very straight forward job. Not sure if they fully drained the brake fluid as I have given them a Gallon and almost all of it returned back. I think they just did a top up, bleed and reset the brake service light. Another thing I am very very disappointed at is .. I requested John (Front office, who I interreacted with), to check the underside , from Transfer case to Front Drive shaft, as I know the drive shaft teeth are giving away (206 K Miles) and on hard acceleration, its knockings off, hard metal stumbling sound, with some smoke out of it. It may also be the plastic gear inside the actuator motor. They just given me a very very wrong diagnostics. John said, on hard acceleration, your engine is knockings very bad and there is big smoke from exhaust. Come on guys, any BMW technician will know the diff between Engine knocking and and metal clucking . rumbling from TC area. Whether its TC chain, Actuator motor or Front Drive shaft teeth slipping (which is very very common on E70 X5). And John, wasn't even engaging in discussing this diagnosis. He advised me to better look for a another vehicle. Hmmmm.. so for me Peak auto is out of question now. where and how , some of us BMW enthusiast keep the our aging BUT solid vehicle in shape. May be work by ourselves.

These guys are the absolute best. So far we have brought 4 of our German cars in and their service were always exceptional, friendly and on time. Prices are reasonable as well (especially their 50 point inspection). Love Matt's attention to detail in explaining everything that's going on. I appreciate his honest recommendations on what needs to be done vs what doesn't need to be done (my brakes needed to be serviced and I thought I needed all four wheels done, but my front brakes still had a good amount of life left, so he recommended only to replace the rear brakes). They worked very hard on my dad's Mercedes GL timing chain (not easy) and DPF filter. Matt did A LOT of calling around to bring in an accurate estimated quote as well as to source the difficult to find DPF for my dad's model. I don't know the technician's name, but kudos to him/her for taking on the difficult job. Also love that they wash your car if they have the time! Could keep going on about their exceptional service and expertise, but the bottom line is THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST!!
