Nice gym but gets way to busy and some members want to sit on machines all day and talk. It’s hard to get a good workout half the time and forget trying to use the fake turf field they put in as the trainers have group classes there. Overall nice new equipment since the remodel but would really benefit from opening another location as this is the only one for all of independence and the surrounding city’s. Lees summit is a smaller city and has two gyms.

I was in the city for business and was in need of a great place to workout while there. Matt was able to get me setup and treated me as if I was a long term member. I have yet to come by a gym that offers everything that they do! If you live in the area or just traveling through, make sure you stop by and give them a go. Thanks again Matt, hope all is well.

I've been going to the gym for a year (they make you sign a year contract to get their discount). It has progressively gotten worse. There are people recording themselves everywhere. You always end up in someone's videos. People park WHEREVER they want. Including the bosses who park in no parking fire lanes. I was even blocked in one time by someone who didn't park in a parking place. I couldn't leave. Hardly anyone cleans the weights or equipment when they are done. I highly don't recommend this gym. Not for $100 a month

This is my first time in Independence Missouri. This was the closest gym from where I am staying.. I signed up for a free 7-day pass which I would only use today I was denied and told the 7-day pass is for in town guests only??? I was made to pay $20 bucks. Dude for real.....

It’s been a great experience coming to Genesis. I’ve had a lot of great trainers and recently trained with Terell (T) and I got to learn new stretches before working out. The environment has always and continue to be welcoming and I appreciate that the most!

Great place to spend hours working out, playing basketball, doing cardio or swimming. Also have great shakes and de costumer service is amazing.

Super nice equipment, relatively clean. Had to try 3 different paper towel dispensers that were empty before finding one that worked. Only real complaint is that there seems to be a senior living community that busses loads of elderly folks here. It can be very crowded.

I like this gym, but my main reason for coming here to use the basketball court. I like playing basketball for cardio and the floor has been messed up for months. I pay decent money to come here and the basketball court is still messed up. I’ll change my rating once that gets fixed. Where does my membership money go? Considering canceling my membership until that gets fixed.

Luke Minx is an excellent personal trainer. He is extremely knowledgeable, always explaining the purpose of the exercises and machines. He demonstrates how to perform each task. He is extremely patient and supportive. I know he has a very busy schedule, but he always is so attentive even if it's 6:00 p.m. and he has been at the gym since 6:00 a.m. I feel like I have made real progress with him as my trainer. He's great.

I literally love it here! So many beautiful people attend this gym and I’m so inspired. I feel like I get my monies worth and I have used none of the amenities, I just workout. I used the 3 free training sessions with Caleb, but I have not used the pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub, free classes, and others yet. I have come here during the afternoon a few times (around 5 or 6pm) and it is super packed. I prefer to workout when the birds are still sleep. It’s not as busy. The staff are nice people and the drinks are delicious. I feel good about my upgrade from planet fitness. Be great everyone! 💕💕💕

My experience with Genesis has been the single worst experience I have ever had with a corporate company. These crooks ended up taking over $1,200 from me after I tried on two different occasions to cancel my membership... after i formally canceled my membership on the second time, they continued to bill me for 14 months citing that my signature on my cancelation contract was "illegible". However, they never even attempted to contact me about said "illegible" signature. I was told that I would be contacted by a regional manager.. and have yet to hear anything. I am not the type of person to write reviews on companies, but this experience was so outrageously crooked I CANNOT EXPRESS it enough, DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE.

Such a great club! My trainer, Zach Burch, is phenomenal-he works me hard but makes it fun! So grateful for him and Genesis Independence!

I really like this place and the people work here. Been a member for about 6 months now, absolutely great experience. I would especially like to mention Mo, one of the staff members, thta has an outstanding customer service. Keep it up👍🏻.

I want to give a shout out to the staff here. Steve is an awesome club manager and everyone is really friendly. I especially want to give a huge shout out to Kora who leads the entire Youth Department for all of Genesis. I see her in the gym working hard and she is always so positive and welcoming to everyone! Great team here!

Genesis is the best gym i have the pleaser of going to. The staff is great always making sure you have a great experience. Amenities such as very extensive gym equipment, weights, wet and dry sauna, hot tub and swimming pool You never have to wait to use. I have a trainer named Luke and without his help I would be lost. I am 67 years old and his help has made it possible for me to feel confident working out without feeling awkward and out of place. Luke trains me to work on all areas of my body and focusing on the muscles I need the most work. I have never felt better. Thanks Luke.

Awesome gym! great staff! just word of warning do not leave any of your personal things unattended for even 5 minutes it will get stolen. 2 different occasions I’ve left my jump rope and boxing gloves by the bag and within 5 minutes some guys decided to steal them and it’s not the gyms responsibility.

I love this gym. My trainer is Joel Allen and he is awesome. He has motivated me to lose weight and become healthier. I didn't think I could lose weight and he has definitely gave me back my confidence. The kids club makes it easier to be able to work out too.

The gym has a lot of variety of equipment that is kept clean and in good repair. People of all ages and fitness levels can be found working towards their goals. My personal trainer Caleb has been amazing to teach me exercises that are safe and reasonable for a 50-something year old who is just embarking on formal fitness and wellness journey.

Absolutely love all my water Instructors from 8:15 -10:30. Each one gives her best to help us be our healthy best self. Due to knee replacement, I have thoroughly missed Bootcamp, R&B cycling, yoga, and Mary's strengthening class. I can't wait to resume these amazing workout classes. Cleanest gym in Missouri. Staff is friendly, machines are cutting edge. Literally, the best gym I've ever been to. Decided to get a personal trainer and ended up with the best, Jon Dandurand. With Jon's help I been able to meet and exceed my fitness goals. He is a very likable guy and keeps me motivated even when I feel like giving up.

The staff couldn't find the master key to my locker when I could not remember the combination. ,the parking lot has very poor lighting and it is very dark on the lot., I would rather have a bring your own lock type of locker or at least some of them for your own lock. some of the parking lot needs holes filled in. outside of these issues, I like the gym. Staff is friendly and helpful, nice cool air conditioning in the summer.

Great experience. Have not been a member here for years. Came in to talk to someone about starting up again. BRENT was an amazing advisor. He spent the time to explain everything and gave a personal tour of all the facility has to offer. Highly recommend taking the time to come in and talk with Brent and get a membership.

Genesis is a great place to work out, albeit a bit on the expensive side. However, their trainers are top notch and completely worth the extra investment if starting out or getting back into the groove. I've been working with Tyler K. for almost few months and am not only down almost 40 lbs already but I've enjoyed every training session immensely. I'm a big guy with a lot of weight to lose and Tyler has not only kept me motivated throughout this process, but has been able to push me to my limits every session as well without risking injury. If you're thinking about joining and looking for a solid trainer, I cannot recommend him enough.

Hot tub was nice and toasty as were the saunas. Locker rooms were clean as well. On a sad note, my friend and I hadn't been in for several months and were upset to find out that long time overnight employee, Ed, was no longer with us and had passed about 4 months ago. He was an awesome guy and we will miss seeing him when we come in. RIP Ed

I love going to this gym its always clean. Staff here are very nice and friendly. Tyler who is my personal trainer is amazing, he always keep me motivated. He cares about his clients a lot & he always makes my personal training sessions more fun even the group glasses. He is the best trainer at Genesis!

I have a great time working out here! The place looks great, has all the machines and equipment you'd need. The trainer Alex Dillon has been guiding me through my fitness journey for the last few months. I feel great and my confidence is up. Big thank you to Alex for all the hard work he's done.

5 stars for my trainer! When I started working out with a trainer a little over a year ago I was apprehensive. My previous experiences were not very good. When I met Jon Dandurand, I knew that he was the perfect coach for me. He is professional, kind, patient, and understanding. I am pleased with my progress and feel assured that with his continued training and encouragement I will keep attaining each new goal.

I really like the staff and support I receive at Genesis. The training personal training team has helped me be successful after the Covid pandemic. I really like how Joel Allen my trainer understands my physical, mental, and spiritual obstacles. So glad I have a good place to go and get some hard core workouts and education about my health!!!! They have a great boot camp with Tyler also!!!
