Nov 8, 2021 began the worst PC experience I've ever faced in the 20 years I've been building PCs. I showed up at the Westmont location an hour before they opened hoping they had a GPU in stock. They did have some GPUs in stock but they had designated those GPUs to Only be available for people who built their entire PC through them. This PC was for a client of mine and he was excited at the opportunity to get an RTX 3080 so he went for it. Their employee Ian helped me along through the entire process, was Very friendly and knowledgeable, and assisted me in getting all the price matches I could find on the parts. The problem began when I learned that I not only had to buy all the parts from them, I also had to pay for them to build the PC. This is where I was Extremely reluctant. Every PC I've come across that was pre-built, or put together by a store has had some sort of issue, improper bios setting, RAM not running at the proper speed, parts selected not the best for the particular setup, etc. But, there was only one way to get the GPU so I went the lowest priced option where they just put the parts together, called the "Build 1 Retail Custom Build-Tier 1" on the invoice, for $149.99. I had to get a CPU I didn't want because they didn't have the Ryzen 5800X in stock, I was told once it came in stock I could exchange it. This was where I noticed the first problem. After getting the 5800X I began to swap out the CPU and noticed that the Tech who built the PC used almost the entire tube of thermal compound on the CPU. There was so much thermal compound it was dripping all around the CPU and onto the motherboard. I contacted management and they were 100% wiling to help correct the issue. They had me bring the PC back in, swapped out the mobo, swapped out the old CPU for the new one, and I went on my way. When I got the PC home I began testing it out by playing the main game my client wanted the PC for and began to encounter some BSODs. I benchedmarked all the parts I could and made some adjustments to the RAM and it seemed stable so I shipped it. Unfortunately the BSODs returned after the client received the system. I did all I could to alleviate the issue but could not resolve the BSODs while gaming so the client sent the system back. Since then I've slowly swapped out Every part and have found the CPU to be the culprit. This makes sense since the BSODs didn't begin until they swapped out the parts due to the thermal paste issue and installed the new CPU in the process. I have NEVER lost money on a PC build until now, and I can't tell you how many PCs, in particular PCs dedicated to gaming, I've built, too many to keep track of. The employees stated that their technician who first built the PC was "their best" tech. So it was their "Best" tech who put so much thermal compound on the CPU they had to swap out the mobo for a new one. I would also like to point out that while I was there for the mobo swap, another customer was there because his newly built PC was experiencing BSODs. In his case they had set his bios to CSM mode, even though he had All modern components with Windows 10 running. His issue was that when he learned his mobo bios should be in UEFI mode, he changed the setting, and since Windows had been installed on CSM mode, they just changed it back to CSM and the system became stable again. But there was no reason for it to be in CSM mode in the first place. I would like to point out that Every employee I encountered was Extremely friendly, and in my opinion did their best to assist me. Because of that I do recommend Micro Center as a place to shop at, BUT I can NOT recommend it as a place to build or work on your PC. If you absolutely need a local place to build your PC I would say to either try to find someone knowledgeable to build it for you, or if it must be Micro Center my recommendation would be to Only allow them to build it if you've purchased their in-store protection plan on your parts. Issues don't always pop up right away and if you're beyond their in-store return time, like I am, you're screwed

Great place to go and browse laptops, computers, cool electronics and components. The new curved monitors are awesome and good to have a place to go and see them before you buy. Also great to have a place for components to build your own and upgrade your computer. Friendly and helpful staff.

My son took me here. I was looking for a new PC. We had a salesman who was Polish and was excellent. Leading me through the why and what for of each model. After 40 minutes of his help. Got what we needed. Would recommend to everybody.

I had a really great experience at this store today. My salesman Jason was super helpful and knowledgeable. I was having an issue filling out the survey for him on their site but he definitely gave me A+ service. They were having an issue at the register with their computer but the person who was helping me check out was super friendly. We spoke a bit and he told me he had only been working there 2 weeks but he really liked it so far. The cashier manager was super helpful and kept apologizing for the delay with the computer and got me switched over to a new register asap. Overall it was a great experience despite the issue with the register (which was due to a software issue due to an update), everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable without trying to upsell you. Highly recommended

Recently went in to build a computer or have one built. Was looking forward to it. Unfortunately the sales dude that helped me took the fun out of it. Seemed like it was an inconvenience sometimes when I had questions. You would figure spending a significant amount to build a computer they would make it more fun. Essentially he just picked the parts on the website (which I could have done). Wouldn't let me see things or verify parts etc. I guess only YouTubers get to do that. The build cost was an extra 100$ cuz it was water cooled (aio). Would probably not do it again. Over all, something I was looking forward to for months just had the fun sucked out of it. Lastly the build quality wasn't that great. When I got home I realized that one of my aio fans was jammed with wires and I basically had to rewire it myself. Giving 3 stars because I can't give 2.5. At least they had all the parts I wanted in stock. Photos are how it looked once I took the aio out to fix it

I could write all day about the positive things I have experienced shopping here. However I’ll try to keep it brief. The front end staff and supervisor Alexander S. And Henry and all their fellow associates always go above and beyond. Admittedly I am not always the easiest customer to understand, I’m pretty technologically ignorant. The staff always take their time to educate me on why certain items are more desirable than others. The employees go through great lengths to satisfy their customers and I just wanted to make sure their efforts don’t go unnoticed and their executive level staff take note of their spectacular team. Thank you for being a pleasant shopping experience, I look forward to shopping again!!!!! :)

Great store. Everything you'll ever need for your electrical devices. Great, informative, and friendly staff who actually know what they're talking about. We buy all our pics, TV, printers and add ons here and here only.

I have gone to this store dozens of times now. Every time the service is top tier. Hands down this is the best place to buy all your electronics. Staff is very knowledgeable, deals are unsurpassed, and easy replacement plans. I always get a replacement plan and when I need it the return is simple and easy. At this store I bought my first custom PC and 3d printer. Staff answers questions honestly. Best place to shop.

Had a great experience with a cashier named Nate! Lovely guy who was incredibly social and helped make an initially-awkward purchase more fun! He brought a smile to my face and made an otherwise nasty day wonderful. (I tried to take the survey, but it said it was “already in use”?) 029-P0-6196114

I love this place! I’ve been going here for as long as I can remember, always great coming here to buy new PC parts or any type of electronics / electronic wires I need. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Here’s the PC I just built with the parts I got last week (I got a spider man edition graphics card too)!

When extremely annoyed you leave extremely poor reviews .. I bought a lap top a year ago and exactly 3 days after the warranty expired the laptop crapped out!! But luckily, for the first time, I actually bought an extended warranty ( win) !! But not really a win. I dropped off my computer and I was told it will be fixed in 2 or 3 days ..if they need to order parts perhaps 5 or 6 days .. well it's now more than 2 weeks and still no repair. In fact they haven't even addressed it yet. When I call there is excessive waits and at one point I was even hung up on after on hold for 15 mins. I would not use them for repairs unless you have many weeks to wait. I will not go back!!

Excellent selection and very helpful staff. I was in a mobility scooter, and I turned and knocked a bunch of boxes over. I was so embarrassed but the staff were so cool about it. I miss these type of places where you can grab everything you need to build a computer off the shelf. Very cool and fun place. (Edit grammar)

I had an amazing, professional , easy experience with this company. Three different people I dealt with. 1. I called on the phone prior to going to Micro Center. 2. I was personally greeted at the help desk. Henry, the manager walked around the counter to address me. 3. The girl at the desk that fixed my iPad . I wish I could remember her name. She was absolutely awesome. I was in on 07/05 during the middle of the day. Overall, I had a great experience with this company site. I really appreciate everyone that helped me.

Went in thinking that my gpu was failing but once they got it checked out, I was told that there was nothing wrong which was great. Jose was able to answer all my questions about why i was experiencing a black screen while gaming. He assured me that it was a software issue and it really was. I backed up my pc reinstalled windows 11 with a legit product key and no more black screen!!!!! Thank you so much Jose!!! and thanks to the guy who was able to test it out my gpu!!! Great team! My baby is back up and running!!!

MicroCenter is a fantastic small chain electronics and computer store. With excellent customer service, they go the extra mile to assist shoppers. The best part? They price match big retailers like Amazon, ensuring you get the best deal. My only regret is that they're not available in my current area. If you're fortunate enough to have one nearby, take advantage of MicroCenter's wide selection and exceptional service for all your tech needs.

Absolutely fantastic service and expertise. Did the right amount of asking what we were looking for and letting us browse. Sold me exactly what I needed without overselling or undercutting me. Helped me find all the additional software I needed (security and Microsoft Office). Heard about them from family and well definitely tell others about them. Managers at each department thanked me for shopping and making time. Really great experience for spending as much as I needed.

I was sent here from the Apple store and these guys were Amazing! Tim was so nice he took care of me and was able to assist in less time than he had thought. I appreciated the reassurance I received from their staff. Micro center gain a customer. Quick, courteous, and they didn’t throw a bunch of technical terms at me they made sure I understood the process and what would be done.

Best tech store around with wonderful staff. They honor their warranties and will go the extra mile for the customer which only means returning business. The service desk employees made the whole exchange process easy and smooth. After receiving my gift card, I spent a substantial amount of money on top of it for more tech goodies to show my support to the store!

Today was my first time visiting the store. My neighbor mentioned that they had everything at very competitive prices - and he was right! I'm a "beginner's beginner" with 3D printers and ended up talking with another customer in the same area of the store for 30-45 minutes learning much more than I will be able to retain. (Thanks, Dominic!) The store was clean, very organized and well-marked for various items. The staff were very pleasant and helpful!! Kevin W.

Every time I visit this store I have had a great experience. The staff has always been helpful. They have always been knowledgeableable. I.T. his my passion and, while I am very comfortable with the software and networking side of things, I rely on others to help me with the hardware I need to support my clients. I always feel like I am a valued customer. The staff never is condescending. The prices are competitive. I am comfortable sending my clients here. I think the website could be a little better. If I could give 4.5 stars I would because that is the one area that could be improved. Parking is great. Checkout is usually speedy. Oh, sometimes I wish their phone system would be easier to navigate.

Super helpful and knowledgeable. I had issues with my bank when I tried to make my purchase and they were patient and kind while I called the bank and cleared things up. Patrick specifically was a great guy.
