This is ongoing - if this issue is resolved I will update the rating. Please re-consider if you are looking for a vet to get travel document/ USDA form for your pet. Dr. Hailey Montalbano purposely ignored the asks from the import country and missed out a very important information on the USDA form. The USDA form is time sensitive and can only be done within 10 days of travel. She ignored our instructions and now resulting our pet cannot get in the imported country. We told her and the front desk staff to add that in at least 4 times. We even called USDA to ensure it is proper to add the no dogs and cats rabies on the form. But she refused. That appointment itself is $300 and the overnight label is $90. Plus we are losing the opportunity to bring our dog oversea to live with us. The flight cannot be changed as it goes into a lot other details over that country. We are hoping they will work on this issue on Monday. I will update this review once there’s any updates.

This is my sweetheart Nilla. I'm 59 years old and and she's the first dog I've had in over 50 years! And yes there have been a lot of great cats before Nilla came, but being with Nilla these last 6 months or so has been one of the best experiences in my life. She's just amazing!

I went to Union Vet for six years, and I’m glad to never go back again. Every visit was generally not a good experience, but never so bad that I wanted to go through the trouble of switching vets. But I finally switched to Friendship Hospital for Animals, which has been absolutely incredible and really made me realize how poor the experience was at Union Vet. The straw that broke the camel’s back was when my dog suffered an FCE and suddenly and temporarily lost use of her back legs. I made multiple calls to Union Vet and they said the vet would call me back. But on the 5th call the admin staff told me that they had never left a message for the vet. I understand they are not an emergency vet, but I think they should have returned my call within a few days. But I’ve had many bad experiences at Union Vet. In particular, I’m frustrated with my experience with Dr. Montalbano. Dr. Montalbano inexplicably thought my dog had lost 1/4 of her weight in 2 months, which of course was incorrect. I very reasonably pointed out what I thought was just an administrative error with the weight they had on record for my dog. I didn’t really think it was that big of a deal and just a minor error. But Dr. Montalbano was unreasonable and kept asking why I wouldn’t trust their vet records.

I've been taking my cats to Union Vet for over a decade and I'm always very happy with their service. Staff and vets are super kind and skilled and knowledgeable. I trust them to be honest with me about my options and my pets' condition/needs, whether minor or major or in-between. (And we've had all kinds over the years!) The vet & techs are gentle and skilled handling my cats, and the front desk staff are super efficient (and good at making sure I don't forget the stuff I need to take home!). They also tend to be great about getting us in/out quickly and with a minimum of stress, which can be especially important with skittish kitties. I appreciate that they have accessible electronic records (with a simple medication refill feature) that are easy for pet parents to access. The vets and staff at Union were particularly kind and supportive when my cat Sam passed away last year, and I'll always be extra grateful for the care they offered us during that difficult time.

Amazing staff Amazing doctors overall the best experience I've ever had at a vet I literally drive from over an hour away just to take my dog here because no one else can even compare to Union Vet. Hands down best vet clinic in the DMV!!

Union Veterinary Clinic, is such a wonderful partner for Colby’s Dogcare & Spa, that I would not trust my pup Colby to anyone else. The entire team is incredibly friendly, and the doctors really take their time to get to know Colby and ask the right questions to make sure that his health is thoroughly cared for. I could not recommend them higher more highly.

The staff is so kind to my Maizy - always patient and gentle with her. Dr. Appleby is great! He was thorough, never made me feel rushed, explained options and costs for my dog’s treatment and generally has a stellar bedside manner for animals and their humans. He is also very knowledgeable about Rx and specific conditions in my breed of dog. I recommended him to my friends seeking a vet. Thanks to the rest of staff, as well, who helped with the vaccines and payment. Everything went very smoothly.

The staff was very charming and helpful. The veterinarian took the time to thoroughly address all of our concerns regarding traveling overseas with our dog. Additionally, their prices were significantly lower than other veterinarians in the area.

I have been taking my dog to Union Vet for about 5 years. We have loved our experience. The team at Union Vet is super friendly, informative and helpful. Their exams are thorough and they take the time to answer any question I have. My dog is often very nervous and skittish at the vet but the team does a great job remaining patient and doing everything they can to make him feel safe. I highly recommend Union Vet!

This is the most expensive veterinarian clinic I've ever been to in my entire life, so prepare for good gouging. If there is an opportunity to charge you or up charge you, they will guaranteed. I've been here two or three times and always felt the staff had a bit of an edge to them. However, today was my last visit to this Clinic as the staff was beyond rude to the point where other customers outside shook their head and vocalized their amazement . i attempted to ask a staff member how much longer because I was told 25 minutes and was sitting outside in my car for an hour and 45 minutes. He ignored me totally. After calling a couple of times he came out dropped my dog's leash and medication on the ground and walked inside telling me off as he walked away. If that all was not enough, last thing I will say is I have yet to see a single dog walk out of that clinic that did not look like it was having a panic attack which makes me wonder how well the staff is treating the animals.

I walk past this neighborhood clinic regularly with my dogs, which is how I learned about it. I had been going to a farther clinic which had very strong reviews, but my experience hadn't aligned with those reviews. So when my dog got injured I thought I'd try Union Vet--and I'm so glad I did! The staff was attentive, friendly (both to me and my dog), on time, patient and efficient. Definitely coming back here as our go-to, normal vet!

I recently brought my darling cat Noodle here for an emergency leg amputation after he was diagnosed with an aggressive bone cancer. It was a tough day for me and Noodle, but the team at Union Vet helped me through the entire process. Dr. Montalbano and Dr. Yim in particular took the best care of Noodle! They went above and beyond in communicating with me, answering my questions, and taking care of Noodle. Their attention to detail and patient care (of both me and Noodle) was unparalleled. While I truly hope he is cancer free, and I do not need to bring him back-- I highly recommend the team at Union Veterinary Clinic! They are the BEST!

I bring foster dogs here - often with very little known about their medical history before or while in the shelter. The vets are patient, give great advice & help them get to be their best selves for adoption.

I took my senior cat here a few times before a cross-country move. Everyone had great bed-side manner. They were helpful in making sure we were organized and prepared. If I were still in DC, I would go again.

I love union vet! They have been great with my two dogs and I bring my fosters there as well. We have had 2 fosters neutered through them. Great and affordable care !

A vet from Union spotted a dosage error made by the urgent care vet that could have done lasting damage on our dog. Grateful for their care and attention to detail!

I brought in my little Shuri Sophia who I had just adopted with not very much info on her and a ton of concerns. The staff and vet at Union were SO patient with us, they took their time to answer my questions, they were patient, sweet and gentle with Shuri, and gave me every possible option I could take with her. They even followed up afterwards to make sure that she was good and I didn't have any lingering questions! I could not have asked for a better experience. I think we found a new permanent vet!

We have had a fantastic experience with Union Vet. We were going to another vet in the city, but that vet couldn't take us for a spay appointment for several months, so we contacted Union Vet, and they were able to get us in for a pre-surgery exam within two days and for the spay within a week after that. The pricing was also the most reasonable in the area that we could find: $555 for a spay (plus more for the pre-surgery exam and bloodwork and other incidentals, but it seemed like that was pretty standard). We were also really impressed with the vets and their staff. They spent much more time explaining everything to us and giving us our options than our previous vet did, and they were all very friendly and seemed very knowledgeable and competent. The spay went great-- our pup's scar is about as small and neat as you can expect, and she has recovered very quickly. They have also been very available for any questions we have had. I highly recommend Union Vet!

I would not go here, go to Atlas instead. This place is price gouging and really not great care. They also aren’t available to help with broad questions either, I called to ask what color stool is normal for dogs (after I’d already taken my dog there) and they told me that couldn’t advise on that unless I was willing to bring him again, but it’s literally a googleable question, I just wanted the answer from a definitive source. Would not recommend. Also they vaccinated my dog with an optional $200 vaccine for kennel cough after I told them he didn’t need it because he is a hermit dog and has never boarded. Wild

My cat has been a patient here for 6 years, the quality of their staff and care have been excellent. They have always been prudent and insightful in their care recommendations, and you can tell they really care about what is the best solution for the pet and their family, not upselling out of self interest. Both their veterinarians and their tech staff have been great at every opportunity, and their communication is top notch. I never have to worry about getting details about medication, or getting a call back.

The staff at Union Veterinary is knowledgeable and friendly. I just moved to DC and am very happy I selected them as the vet for my new cat! Overall very positive experience for me and my pet.

I moved from overseas and my dog had not been able to necessarily have the same level of care where I was posted. The team was very understanding, talked me through different tests vs. vaccinations in addition to types of illnesses to watch out for in the DC area and helped answer all of my questions. Can't say much on costs as I'm coming from a place where I had house visits for less than $50. :)

Union Vet has always shown great care and consideration to me and my dogs. The vets have all worked with me to find the best solutions for care of my dogs, with flexibility and options on procedures, and thorough attention to detail. I highly recommend Union Vet. I believe they have the best interest at heart for my pet's health.

Every time I take my dog to this vet clinic it’s a great experience. I had a scare last year where he had to undergo numerous tests and the vet called me regularly to update me on what was going on. I highly recommend this clinic. Much better than other clinics I have used in the past. And I never wait to be seen.
