Dr Philip Ngai is very professional, friendly and offers quick and efficient appointments. I had cataract surgery in December and I was very comfortable, and no pain. I was nearly blind before and now I'm 20/20 after surgery and am so happy!! The office and surgery staff is wonderful! The surgery time was fast, as was the recovery, and I couldn't be more pleased. From start to finish, the staff was informative, helpful and extremely friendly. I came to Dr. Ngai’s office to get a new prescription for my glasses and contacts. I told Dr. Linh Ho about my issues with my previous prescription from another doctor. She was very thorough and answered all my questions completely. She gave me her suggestions on what magnification strengths I should use and gave me some trial contact lenses. After getting my prescriptions filled, all of my previous issues were resolved. I have had a few complex surgeries recently with other eye surgeons in order to fix a rare problem with my eye. After months of care and visits with my surgeons, I still had questions about my surgeries. I was introduced to Dr. Ngai by a good friend of mine, and after seeing him for several visits, I am convinced he is one of the most competent and professional physicians out there. With very little information, he put all of the pieces of my complex history together, and explained to me in layman's terms what happened with my eyes. He called nearly all of my doctors personally to verify the facts and see what exactly happened with my eyes. Turns out his theory was correct, but the fact that he called my other doctors personally shows how much he cares. More importantly, he has advised me about what to do in the future to maximize and preserve my vision. In my visits with Dr. Ngai, he took the time to walk me through my diagnoses and treatment options, and was always attentive to any questions or concerns. I believe he truly cares about his patients and I could only wish all doctors practiced medicine this way. I now see (pun intended) why he and his office have the stellar reviews they have. I drive across the Golden Gate Bridge to see Dr. Ngai and it's totally worth it. Needless to say, I highly recommend Dr. Ngai to all friends and family for their eyecare.

I've often seen businesses or practices with five star ratings where nearly every post it seems had five stars and I thought there's no way, until I visited the San Gabriel Valley Eye Group today. Allison was awesome from the start when I first called to inquire if they take new patients. She answered my insurance questions and explained what to expect. When I arrived today she was still just as pleasant and the registration process was quick and easy. Eric the technician was awesome. He was very pleasant and polite. He wiped down all the machinery that was used for my test and he clearly knew his stuff because he was quick with processing everything, not rushed, he was just very familiar with his equipment. It was exciting to see him work. Dr. Mark Lin was as pleasant as the rest and very professional and thorough. It was exciting learning about the mechanics of the eye and I felt comfortable that I understood my results because he was very clear and patient in explaining the results of the tests. I haven't had an eye exam since Middle School and I'm 60+ now and it was exciting learning all about the eye. I didn't feel rushed and felt very confident about my eye health when I left.
