We stop by this place on a recommendation from a friend. Very cute market in the middle of a residential neighborhood. They are quite a few people there waiting around for to go orders which to me is a great sign that the food will be good. The service we got was very friendly and a positive experience. I ordered the big breakfast burrito which I thought was just a little bit pricey, but it did taste good. I just wish they used a little bit more seasoning. My wife ordered the carne asada and although the texture and the burrito were good, the meat was very salty. I enjoyed my order more than she enjoyed hers. I think it's one of those types of restaurants where you have to know what their specialties are, and then order that. It was our first time in. I will definitely give these guys a second try because I love the small businesses like this like I said before the place was really cute, it was very clean great service. A portions were huge so if you're looking for food that you can actually break up into two meals this is the spot for you. The garden seating area outside and so unique. Go ahead support small businesses and give these guys a try.

Amazing tortillas! We ordered breakfast burritos with chorizo, egg, and potato and the birria pizza. All had great flavor and were a good portion. Friendly family owned business. Thank you Gracie!

Came by during open hours confirmed by phone last week, and business was closed. (When I called to confirm open hours, they were apparently already closed because they had run out of tortillas.). Called when at the Market, and no answer. No posted sign about open hours. It would be helpful if the business posted something about open hours, closing during listed hours, left a voice-mail, etc. I have heard great things, but can only give 1-star for the reasons I mention here.

Saw lots of rave reviews about the tortillas. They didn't disappoint. I preferred the gordita size. Very tasty and can be eaten alone. Empanadas are flavorful. The absolute star is the red chile burrito. The carne asada taco I tried was ok, a bit dry. Staff was friendly. The venue is in a neighborhood with mainly street parking. This is a great Tucson find. And ordering ahead is definitely great advice!

Great chorizo burrito, it had no potatoes, I was told this after 20 minutes of waiting... Slightly disappointed after arriving, drove from San Diego just to try their legendary machaca burrito and they didn't have it at 9:45 in the morning. Customer service from the front lady wasn't all that either. Oh well, on to the next stop. I am upgrading to 3 stars for the chorizo that I purchased here to cook at home.

I'm very frustrated with our experience. I've eaten here before and the food is very good. It's been a craving on my mind for a while. I placed an online order at 10am with the set expectation from the website the food would be ready at 1030am. I got a call 10-15 minutes later that the order wouldn't be ready until 11am because they were waiting on chicken to arrive. Okay, so I called my husband to tell him not to go yet. He goes at 11 the order still isn't ready. He waits and at 1120 gets told that only one of the 3 burritos in the order is ready, the tacos aren't ready and the chicken still hasn't arrived. He accepts the one burrito and leaves, allowing the rest of the order to be cancelled. He calls to tell me not to send him to that place any more. I called to inquire what happened and the girl who answered the phone told me she just got there but that my husband didn't want to wait so they cancelled the rest of the order. An hour and 20 minutes after the order was placed. The girl who answered the phone lied probably because she didn't have a clue what was going on an wanted me off the phone. My husband didn't say he didn't want to wait he was told the order still wasn't ready and some parts of it still weren't even in the building. Why wouldn't unavailable items simply be declined? The call back I got could have been: Hi we are out of item A & B, would you like to change your order? Here's what we have right now. Disappointing to get treated this way.

We drove from Tempe to Tucson to try the food here. Unfortunately when we arrived the restaurant was just closing. The gal that was working came out and explained that they were so busy and ran out of food earlier than normal (must be good food right). She then told me that she would give me a sample of the food to try since we travelled so far! The sample was an entire red chili burrito!!! It was amazing as the reviews and the news claimed! I will forever come back to this establishment whenever I am in town and encourage everyone to do so as well!!! Thank you Anita Street Market, you forever won my loyalty!

Anita St. Market: Grace Soto and her husband founded this family owned market in Tucson, AZ 37 years ago. The market is known for their specialty, handmade flour tortillas. Sadly, Grace passed away in December from COVID-19 and a small memorial currently stands outside the building. Currently customers are not allowed to enter and must place their orders outside. While waiting, customers can take in the gorgeous and colorful mural that decorates the side of the building. The market opens early, so I opted to try a breakfast burrito made with their famous flour tortillas. My burrito was comprised of scrambled eggs, potatoes, cheese, and ham. All of the ingredients tasted just fine, but being the cheesehead that I am I should have ordered extra cheese (I felt it could have used just a bit more). The real star of the show though was the handmade tortilla. It was the freshest and best tasting flour tortilla I’ve ever had. I’m having difficulty finding the words to describe the texture and flavor, but trust me, it was superb. I’m curious how their lunchtime burritos taste, but the breakfast burrito is Doughboy approved. Doughboy_Food_Reviews

So the food here is very fresh and very tasty but the wait takes FOREVER. We waiting at least 30-40 minutes for a simple order. To be fair, they do have signs posted saying food is made to order and wait times may increase and I believe they are short handed in the kitchen. The cashier is very nice and welcoming but I think she is the only one that worked up front. The mom and I think other family were up front just sitting and not doing anything. When I went up front to ask for a fork the mom looked at me and just looked away and kept talking... thanks... I'd say it's worth going ifnyou dont mind waiting a good while. Also, call your order in to save the wait.

Fantastic neighborhood market. Pick up your order or run in for some quick salsa supplies. Very friendly homey feeling inside the store and the barrio burrito is delicious.

We stumbled on Anita street market looking for a good breakfast burrito and certainly found that! This was over the holidays and they were very busy but we still got great service and really enjoyed our food. Thank you for helping us out while so extremely busy and doing it with a smile.

Was so anxious to try this place after reading the reviews. Showed up for breakfast at 9:15 and chain lock on gate so called and tortilla makers answered and said cook had not showed up. So my suggestion would be to call and make sure it is open before driving 20 miles to try it. Sherry

I bought lunch at Anita Street Market after the article appeared labeling the restaurant as the # 1 burritos in Az. When I arrived it was very crowded and busting with patron. I ordered several different items off the menu. Prices were excellent well within the market range. The tortilla we're home made and were very tasty. The torta's and Burro's were stuffed with the ingredients. Very good and very tasty. Will definitely include this restaurant in my eating out schedule from this point on . Note: the lady that was cashier, waiting and distributing the food was overwhelmed with business but she keep a smile and was very nice during the entire process. She deserved a larger tip than I left now that I am thinking about it. I will definitely make it up the next time there

Really loved the flavor of a simple breakfast burrito. You can customize whatever you'd like. Salsa was just ok and it's extra for more than one small container, unfortunately. Plan to wait for your food freshly cooked.

I had heard great things. I got a chili Rojo burrito. I have gotten chili Rojo in other places and love it. This was all capsaicin, no other flavor. The potatoes were raw and crunchy even after 10 minutes in the microwave. The Agua Fresca was amazing

Great spot! I'll have to try more than the one burrito to gauge correctly. I prefer a less stuffed burrito to be able and taste the tortilla. This was overfilled(what a complaint to much food, 😆). The tortillas at La Purisma in Glendale, AZ, are better. Will try more and update.

It's the kind of place that becomes your go-to for specialized Mexican ingredients like Queso or Masa corn flour, or dried chiles. they also have Mexican pastries and many more wares that befit a casual environment with a pleasant space created by the friendly staff on hand. It sure is a different experience there than what you might expect from normal shops. I can't put my finger on whether to call it a convenience store or a small grocery market, but it's got a whole middle ground to work with. Love this place's empanadas and the conchas looked great.

It’s definitely a work in progress. We got a few breakfast burritos and they were fine. The tortillas were the best part.

I walked to this place and had a bean and cheese burrito and purchased some tortillas. Both were excellent! The place is a little hole in the wall and was quite busy. They probably needed at least one more person to help at the counter but the person who was there was friendly. The atmosphere is not great, but the food and tortillas were good enough that I will likely be back.

Excellent food and friendly ervice! Great prices too and specials everyday except Sunday! The Specials start at 11am. More than anything, try their tortillas! Buy a pack that they make fresh for you. They come out warm and taste to perfection!

Anita Street is a classic! Currently curbside only due to COVID, but the machaca breakfast burrito, empanadas and paper thin tortillas are as awesome as ever! They are also credit/debit card only at the moment (though I tipped in cash).

Staff was very nice. Me and my husband are traveling threw and was looking for a good breakfast Burrito. According to reviews it came down to anitas or Pete’s. We decided to get one from each and slit them to see who was true to there reviews.. Anitas was first ... it was big and delicious and yummy and the Salsa was so good sorry Pete’s never made it over to try yours but 5 stars for Anitas... highly recommend.
